Euthanizing depression patients is bonkers. I had major depression for the duration of 2013 to 2018. Hearing Joe and Michael talk about science and institutions is absolutely fascinating. They conflate problems within science and institutions with the idea that experts and institutions can’t be trusted.
That’s just not an intelligent framework to reason from. I get it, it’s an easy narrative to swallow, but it paints a vastly different picture to that which actually exists.
On average, experts absolutely deserve trust and respect, not because they’re experts, but because they’re typically much more knowledgeable than non-experts. Similarly, institutions are at the forefront of all kinds of critical scientific research and exploration, and one can’t define them by the hysteria that comes from a small cohort of insane woke morons.
It’s also convenient that Joe can point to all his “favorite” physicians who held similar views regarding COVID, but happen to miss out on understanding how science works.
You test and make predictions, typically thousands and thousands of tests. You then form a consensus based on that information.
Joe wanted to “welcome” debate during COVID which is fine, but what debate could Joe put up against experts in epidemiology? What debate could you or me offer, both of whom do not understand the full literature as scientists do?
But no, Joe will happily suck off the physicians who agreed with him regarding ivermectin and natural immunity while ignoring what the consensus was saying at the time.
That was, those who are fit to do so should take the vaccine to reduce chances of infection, spread, and severe illness. He’s an expert contrarian.

I would argue that after revelations of Epstein's activities. It's not unreasonable to think that some of his 'guests,' (many scientists included) instead of being blackmailed for cash. Were instructed what to mock, support, or obfuscate in ways to support a narrative. Am I saying it's happening? No, but it's not unthinkable. We're through the looking glass here. Nothing can be taken at face value, unfortunately.

All I’m saying is that Joe brings up Fauci often with guests, and imo gives the false impression that Fauci was “intentionally” attempting to mislead people regarding COVID. He also claims Fauci was stating that nobody else could have opinions.
My argument is that I think Fauci was trying to figure out the best way to convey the seriousness of the pandemic to the public while being stern about what researchers were saying at the time. This is why masks and vaccine conversations at the beginning were ever changing and evolving as data came out.
Joe continues to push the narrative that the government orchestrated this as a means to control us, without considering the possibility that the scientific community and CDC really did have the well intentioned interest of saving peoples lives.
Just because the science changes does not invalidate what experts say, and just because expert opinion changes doesn’t mean it always will be wrong.
The hypocrisy I was trying to show was that in this very podcast Joe rags on Fauci for being disingenuous and wanting to control Americans while in the same breath supporting fringe physicians (that do not represent medical consensus) that parrot his same beliefs. That is not an intellectual approach to the COVID pandemic.
