Here's an interesting fact . WrestleMania 19 is the last mania involving two wrestlers main eventing mania for the first time . Lesnar and Angle both were main eventing for the first time . Edit : Becky, Charlotte and Ronda (Wrestlemania 35) ,then Sasha and Bianca (Wrestlemania 37 night 1), then Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs The Usos (Wrestlemania 39 night 1) has happened now.
"Angle later insisted on doing the match because of his neighbour's son, a child with Down's syndrome, who was excited to see Angle wrestle". Infinite respect to this man.
I think it's the best wrestlemania. 17 might have had the best card in terms of balance, but it didn't have 4 classics on the card. It also didn't have such an array of legends. Never again will we see a card where the following names all performed in the ring: Rock, Austin, Michaels, Jericho, Hogan, Angle, Lesnar, and the Undertaker.
I loved Wrestlemania 19 though. Definitely one of my favourites. In my view it also had one of the best post endings for a match. The Jericho vs HBK. That ending was gold. The Hug and than the kneeto the gut. Then Jericho is just like "Screw you Shawn". Such a good heel moment. I reemember during this time Cinema Wrestlemania's was a big thing. The cinema was packed and people just marked out of that moment. The also loved the moment when Jericho attempted the Sweet Chin Music. I also remember an Austin chant when he walked up the ramp. Wrestlemania in Cinemas was actually fun. It's nice to hear a crowd. I wish they still did it. But nope. I just watch it alone on the network now lol. I wish I knew more people who like WWE.
Thank GOD that Shawn decided to stick around, some of the greatest matches OF ALL TIME came during Shawn's run from 2002-2010. Heck, when you can turn an hour long match with a young John Cena into an instant classic, you have to be one of the best ever. Thank you Shawn!!!
At this time in WWE, you had The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Stone Cold, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Kane, Roddy Piper, Edge and more on the roster at the exact same time. Yes some were past their primes, some hadn't hit their primes and some were on their way out but that is an insane amount of star power.
Probably my favourite wrestlemania. Great mix of the great character work and writing of Attitude with the fantastic in ring work of Ruthless Aggression.
I WAS THERE!!! I was 15 years old and super into wwf / wwe at the time. My dad got us good seats and we had a killer time seeing my childhood wrestling hero's. I'm not really into wrestling anymore but if WrestleMania ever comes back to Seattle I'd go again!
That shooting star press may have been botched but I seriously doubt either him or Kurt Angle or even Vince regret the spot, Lesnar crashing down on his head is one of the most memorable shots in WWE history, it happened 14 years ago and we all still remember it. I'd put it on the same level as Foley flying off that cell onto the announce table.
My favorite Wrestlemania, when you think about it, 19 had basically every wrestler who helped define wrestlemania (all of the "legends of Wrestlemania" if you will) Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon, Triple H, Roddy Piper, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, even Kurt Angle. All people who either had already or were going to in the future be apart of the biggest Wrestlemania momemts and matches. No other Wrestlemania had such a star-studded card with all amazing matches like this one did.
Honestly this is the first Mania I had the chance to watch live on pay per view. It still holds up today as one of my favorites. Honestly, McMahon/Hogan is my favorite 'Mania match ever, if only for that ladder spot.
No bull, like, Brock is legitimately a freak of nature. Joe Rogan was actually quoted as saying that he thought Brock could easily have been one of the greatest UFC fighters ever, Brock walked on to the Minnesota Vikings after having never played football, he DEMOLISHED NCAA wrestling, there were rumors circulating about him potentially being on the USA Olympics wrestling squad, and the man has dominated just about everything he's touched.
Seth Freakin Rollins the dildo in the puss, the dick in the puss, the BBC, in the puss, the schoolgirl uniform, the facial, the Brad Maddox, the Xavier Woods, the tit pics and the locker room cowgirl. God today was a good day!
It’s hard to find but there’s a great documentary on mania 19 called the mania of wrestlemania. They went into a lot of what they talked about in this video
Even though Brock Lesnar botched the shooting star. It was still amazing to see a guy his size flip like that. It was definitely the most jaw dropping moment of that wrestlemania.
a subpar wrestler fouls up a move and you call that amazing? Clearly you're just a brainwashed fanboy and the reason you go for subpar wrestlers like him is because you have a subpar IQ and you're a subpar human with subpar standards.
I really don't know about this "forgotten/underrated gem"-stuff, as in every single "best wrestlemania"-thread I've ever seen in forums or elsewhere on the internet, the usual battle for the top spot is between X-7 and 19. So most wrestling fans have it as their favourite or at least second-favourite mania. On the other hand, I've never seen anyone name 10 or 30 as the best Wrestlemanias.
Interesting FACT that wasn't mentioned: This was the last Wrestlemania (including pre shows) to have ALL available championships to be defended. And while it has been a while, it is looking likely for that trend to FINALLY end at this years Wrestlemania.
This was actually my first Wrestlemania that I watched Live. As a kid, I used to go through old tapes and watch the cable stuff to keep up with wrestling. My family couldn't afford PPVs. But when WM19 happened (I was 11) I was so into Wrestling that I could not be talked down and they bought it for me. This was where my casual childhood fandom became a rabid obsession and would remain so until I hit about 16 or 17 and it started to suck all the balls.
I wish to point out that before Lesnar made his big splash in WWE, he wrestled a dark match before a Monday Night Raw in Knoxville, TN in a tag match with Shelton Benjiman, in which he did the Shooting Star Press. It was the Raw where Austin and Triple H beat up the Hardys who were then saved by Kane and Taker. I remember this because it was the first MNR I ever attended and when Lesnar did the shooting star press, I was blown away
WrestleMania XIX is better then WrestleMania X-Seven and is a lot better then WrestleMania XXX. The only reason people say that WM was good was because Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Title and Cesaro won the Andre Battle Royal. Takers Streak ending holds that event down. Also Pipers 2003 run was really embarrassing.
XIX was my first WWE event ever. fun fact before Heat started up the backstage attack played on screen while most people were coming into Safeco Field .
It seems that Whatculture refuses to make fun of the Paige situation because they don't want any problems in booking El Patron for WCPW. Grow a pair lads! Out with the jokes!
Of course this was filmed in advance but it doesn't seem that they'll be making any comments about the sex tape as long as they're trying to book El Patron.
Another interesting fact: Despite being in the WWF for 7 years this was only one of two appearances, championship at that, of Lisa Marie Varon aka Victoria with Nora Greenwald aka Molly Holly not even being on the show. Another being is the 2nd straight championship match for Jazz.
I was at that show. I called for the Shooting Star during Lesnar Angle because I'd seen Brock hit it in a dark match before his debut. Felt bad about that... I remember feeling the Rock/Austin match was weak. The medical issue adds some perspective.
My first of 3 mania's, in a row. Both Tyson Tomko and Daniel Bryan were in attendance. Trish Stratus yelling for Richards, could be heard from where I was sitting. Last wrestlemania for the ABA/Big Evil gimmick. Calloway had contemplated retirement, the last two events. So, people thought this might be his last.
Dear Whatculture. Here's your chance to produce a How WWE Should Address This Whole Paige Fiasco (Ding). My thoughts: Have the New Day enter the ring to cut a promo. They'll of course be met with 'You Fucked Paige' themed chants. The New Day address the elephant in the room, in a subtle way. For example, they begin by looking upset, or whatever. Then they turn to Woods and talk about him like he's committed something out of the ordinary. They also make a bunch of 'Page/Book' puns, like 'Woods here has turned over a new page...', or, 'The New Day are approaching the climax of our story, here in the WWE...', or how about, 'Woods splooged all over Paige's tits.', you know, whatever. Meanwhile the crowd is is loving it, and Woods puts on a look of shame. All of a sudden, Woods snatches the mic out of the hand of whoever is talking and says, 'I think I should be the one to announce it!', and then follow that up with a joke about him having a PHD, wink wink. The tone he takes suggests he's about to make an announcement or some sort of reveal. Out of nowhere, or from out of a bag they brought with them, Woods whips out a book entitled 'The Power Of Positivity', or some shit. This of course becomes their latest prop, or 'Booty' related product. The gimmick of the book could be that it's full of blank pages, and at the end of every match they win, they dip their defeated opponents' hands in ink and have them make a print on the page. I dunno, I'll let you think of a gimmick. BUT! Whatever gimmick they use with the book, they have to include the joke: 'Filling in the page!' (Im not 12, I swear) Regards, Haroon.
Awesome stats but it needs updating Jeff Hardy got his first-ever mania win at WrestleMania 33 where he and his brother Matt Hardy won the raw tag team championship from Carl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a fatal 4-way tag team championship match involving the Usos and I believe the B-Team
That Angle/Lesnar match was one for the ages and the Jericho/HBK match was almost as good but the final chapter of Austin v Rock was quite poor tbh. IT felt rushed, odd and unfinished. Obviously, Austin's condition had a lot to do with it but let's call a spade a spade. Oh and guys, read the link, it's far better than the narration.
Riaz Uddin I loved the Rock/Austin match. I think the Stunner in that match was the greatest of all time. However Brock/Angle was good, but they tore the house down so many times, that when you look at that match compared to their others it doesn't stick out out as different besides being at Mania and the Botch
It's was my favourite match between the two of them. Was it technically the best? Nope. But you can tell both guys were having fun, and that made the match super entertaining. Rock putting on Austin's vest and then beating up Austin was great.
Brock/Angle was good because Angle was good. Good enough to carry an incompetent POS like lesnar to a watchable match. If Brock had a tenth of the talent Kurt had he wouldn't need to be such a lazyass thinking he's entitled to an easy schedule. he would actually work his tail off to prove himself worthy of the demands he makes. But the truth is lesnar is not worthy of anything cuz he never put in the work to prove himself worth. And the fans that disagree they can stick it.
Agreed on the underrated part this was & still is my favourite WM with my favourite Rock Austin match cause Rock was killing it with the Hollywood gimmick & Austin was ever same beer drinking SoB as we know him.
Wrestlemania 19 was totally slept on......... Austin and Rock 3 was great and Brock Lesnar versus Kurt Angle is my favorite WrestleMania match ever.......
Yes of course I do, who doesn't? I think it's completely unfair for Paige to be dissed for doing something all adults do, yes, she did do the videos and pictures but it's probably because at the time she was in WWE and maybe never seen Brad that much he asked for photos and videos or something. It's not funny to potentially ruin someones career or cause suicide, but since it's on the internet y'all think you can get out of this perfectly fine. I wish people grew up and realised people have sex and it's nothing to share all over the internet.
Here's an interesting fact .
WrestleMania 19 is the last mania involving two wrestlers main eventing mania for the first time . Lesnar and Angle both were main eventing for the first time .

Dhruv Trivedi Now that's an interesting fact
Dhruv Trivedi wow I didnt know that
except Angle was good and he earned his main event spot at Mania. Lesnar not so much.
AAAnderson001 Lesnar was great in the ring in that time now no
lesnar sucked in the ring and he always sucked in the ring.
Fact 11: Ring apron is the hardest part of the ring
EASTERN EUROPEAN ORPHAN It is? Well they should mention that on commentary.
they do if you would listen to the commentary
19 is easily one of the best manias. Criminal that it is underrated especially considering manias of recent years.
"Angle later insisted on doing the match because of his neighbour's son, a child with Down's syndrome, who was excited to see Angle wrestle".
Infinite respect to this man.
Just amazing to see
Who the hell thinks Wrestlemania 19 isn't on the same level of WM 30. Wrestlemania 19 was miles more entertaining than 30.
I think it's the best wrestlemania. 17 might have had the best card in terms of balance, but it didn't have 4 classics on the card. It also didn't have such an array of legends. Prince5835 WM xix is miles a head of xxx for sure! I agree.
It's second only to 17, it was a brilliant show.
All I know is that 17 was better
Definitely agreed. It’s only second to X-Seven as WWE’s finest hour.
R.I.P. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Brock Lesnar does a fricking backflip off the top rope.
"Eh, simple enough"
I feel insignificant 🤣
simple move according to a simple mind.

The time when main event was that much good that people remember every move of the match for many many years to come.
I can't not think King Ross saying "Proving Internet Virgins Wrong Moment of the Week" from the Whatculture intro.
Kane and RVD were the perfect couple. Kane could have helped RVD light his joints
Wrestlemania 19 was the end of the Austin and Rock Era. Wrestlemania 20 is Eddie and Benoit's.Wrestlemania 21 till 29 is the John Cena era.

Brad Maddox and Xavier Woods made a good tag team they also had a really good manager, Paige.

WOW!!! :D
Well he also had energy drink

It really messes with my sense of time that John Cena was on the same Wrestlemania as an Austin/Rock match

19 was a great show.
I really have a feeling that Wrestlemania 20 will be next. You know where Stevie Richards won the World Title?
I remember there was confetti all around Stevie Richards
Gen Eric - didnt Stevie Richards hug Eddie Guerrero when he won the Heavyweight Championship of the World?

The Summer of 2002 was when I got back into wrestling and seeing the matches and stories develop that year going into WrestleMania XIX was awesome.

MGD313 none it was in ecws one night stand 06 I think
MGD313 it happened at the first ECW One Night Stand in 05. The 06 one ended with RVD winning the WWE title
Oh Adam, you just introduced our US _friends_ to Yorkshire puds.

Here's your chance to produce a How WWE Should Address This Whole Paige Fiasco (Ding).
My thoughts:
Have the New Day enter the ring to cut a promo. They'll of course be met with 'You Fucked Paige' themed chants.
The New Day address the elephant in the room, in a subtle way. For example, they begin by looking upset, or whatever. Then they turn to Woods and talk about him like he's committed something out of the ordinary.

BUT! Whatever gimmick they use with the book, they have to include the joke: 'Filling in the page!'
(Im not 12, I swear)

WrestleMania 19>WrestleMania 17

Stop with this Paige BS
Beebo goes shopping and sees something he likes do you even know what it is about? stfu
Beebo goes shopping and sees something he likes
you gotta admit it's funny tho! what do u think del Rio thinks?
I wish your heart would stop, that'd be the greastest thing of the PG Era.
Beebo goes shopping and sees something he likes wait why are u getting so emotional for someone else? you have to chill out! your life must be grim
Greatest WrestleMania of all time!
10 things WWE want you to forget about Xavier Woods
19 is one of my favourites just because of Rock v Stone Cold. Pretty amazing how limber Undertaker was back then as well.
