I wouldn't consider this a fact, but the striking similarities between Daniel Bryan, and Benoit's win at their respective manias almost mirror each other. Both men tapped out the biggest guy in the match. They won the title in triple threat matches, and both were put through the table by their opponents during the match. Also both feuded with Kane for the title after mania, and if Bryan didn't get concussed, then both men would've lost the title at SummerSlam.

      Benoit beat HHH at WMXX.
      Bryan beat HHH at WMXXX.
Benoit beat HBK and HHH who were former tag team partners which were DX.
Daniel Bryan beat Batista and Orton who were in evolution.
      Benoit was born May 21st.
      Bryan was born May 22nd.
Both ended the triple threat match that they were in with a crossface.
Both married their wives related to the wrestling business.
Both celebrated with a kid in the ring.
Both were considered the best technical wrestlers for their times.
Both wrestled in different promotions before coming to WWE.
This is the parallel that WWE cannot talk about.

@@Deathpool_04 only difference is Daniel Bryan actually had a personality. Benoit was a silent enforcer in the ring

    • @Deathpool_04
      @Deathpool_04 4 роки тому

Kiko Mills Not the only difference since I think you could make a lot more than that but they do have a lot of similarities. Hopefully, Daniel Bryan doesn’t end up like Benoit and the worst case scenario is that he ends up like Dynamite where he’s just paralyzed but I also hope that nothing really happens to him. Maybe him having to retire for a few years was the only thing terrible that could happen.

    • @Grigori_Rasputin2024

this is a silent consensus on your last statement there. The similarities may not be intentional, similar booking strategies. As a kid watching wrestling I owned the wwe encyclopedia (2009 edition) did you guys know in that book it has chris benoit listed as retired and not deceased? either way the booking situation was alarmingly similar, and if daniel didn't have the concussion issue the same fate at summerslam more than likely (if the lesnar booking still occured)

I'm not even a big Daniel Bryan fan at all but that angle was handled so well you couldn't help but get invested resulting in one of my favourite main event matches of all time. There's only a few I would consider worthy of ending the streak.
When Lesnar did. I was shocked, then I went into denial. then anger, then acceptance. I actually don't mind Lesnar being the guy to end the streak. It did bother me... but now i'm over it.
Definitely put Lesnar over as a threat and Heyman was so good at gloating and rambling on about it. He really stuck it to you at the time.
The only 3 I would of thought to of break the streak were John Cena, HBK, Randy Orton.
Today I also would of considered Finn Balor.
The problem with giving it to someone younger is you never know if they're going to stick around. Also to end such a thing, how do you know if they'll be able to step up??
When you give a young guy a push there's usually two ways it can go. They step up or they fall. Most of the time they fall. Very few live up to expectations.

My friends and I thought the ref's three count in the Taker/Lesnar match was a mistake as, amidst our bewilderment, we never heard the bell sound, leading our shock to turn to utter rage when the announcement was made by Justin Roberts, but in hindsight, it was probably because we were all screaming at that exact moment. As for the rest of Mania XXX, aside from Bray losing to Cena, every winner was the right choice, IMO.

I forgot that I thought they botched the Taker and Lesnar ending. It took them a while to ring the bell after 3 was counted. I remember just being like woah, somebody fucked that up. Then they finally rung the bell like a good 10 seconds later, but it felt like an eternity, and the 21-1 graphic showed up. I also just remember Taker just looking so sluggish during the match. I wasn't totally sure if Taker was just selling for Lesnar that much or if Taker was just getting old. I believe it was a combination of both, but more of Taker just being over the hill.

How hard could it have been to time these properly so that all of them would have been released once a day leading up to the big show tomorrow. there's still two left, and even if you were always planning one tomorrow, you're still a day off. So either two have to be released tomorrow, one will be released a day late, or there won't be one for last year?

And this is the incident/fact I never knew that made me side with Triple H in the whole Punk/Triple H rivalry. 2011 Triple H was good for basically anyone, and his burial shovel was at its busiest. However, when you're willing to take to the grand stage, put a guy over, especially when Triple H still proves his name still means money, Punk would have been given that mainstream and fan approval that would have made him a perfect main eventer for 31. Do I think Punk should have main evented before then at this point? Yes, but for Punk to not even let the guy apologize via putting him over at MANIA? That was Punk's most personal rival at that point and it would have been something to see.
While Mania plans could always change and maybe Triple H would've tried to pull a fast one at the last minute, it seems when Triple H is to put a guy over, at mania, he does.

I find it very difficult to believe the Chad didn't know the finish or the other thing you said about refs counting as if it's a shoot. You see how late some shoulders go up? The referees would have no time to stop their hand hitting a 3rd time. Referees always know the finish.

It's funny how sometimes just the moments a WrestleMania creates can trump the actual wrestling. I mean, as far as Wrestling matches go, take out Daniel Bryan's two matches and you're not really left with much (Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena was also good, but more due to the story it told rather than the actual wrestling that happened). I mean, the hit and miss ratio of the matches isn't really that much better than WrestleMania 29, but man the moments it created more than made up for that. Hogan, Rock and Austin in the same ring together, Cesaro winning the battle royal, Bray Wyatt walking into an arena full of people waving their phones in tune to his music, the shield wrestling their first match as a babyface group, the streak getting broken, and of course Daniel Bryan finally reaching the top of the mountain.

Bach Mutoh Do you know how many people haven't even been ON the Mania card? How many haven't even touched the world title? How many haven't beaten Cena clean during his reign of terror? Phil did all of that, AND he had the longest world title reign of the modern era. Instead of whining and complaining about what he didn't get, Phil needs to realize he got more than what most people did, and be thankful. Jake Roberts, Owen Hart, Jerry Lawler, William Regal, Roddy Piper, those guys never once held the WWE title. Did any of them complain? No. Sting's only Mania appearance was a loss. Did he complain? No. And has WWE buried talent? Of course. Would Phil care if he buried anyone? No. Phil is a selfish entitled jackass. And the name Punk is fitting. Because that's exactly what he is.
