I’m down with them bringing in Tannehill as a mentor/decent backup qb. To me, I really need Poles to get way ahead of it and sign DJ to an extension like now, too. It doesn’t really take a MENSA member to articulate the many differences between the #1 overall vs the literal last pick in the draft but I’m super cool with them taking advantage of Williams rookie deal(kind of like SF and Purdy) so they can distribute the cap to various other players. Oh yeah…….🐻TF⬇️!!!!!!

They aren’t bringing in any more vet qbs. They brought in Ryan griffin on to the coaching staff. Bagent is more than a good enough qb to be a backup. They’ll use the cap savings on bringing in a Tannehil to roll over to next year or extend other players

And I want nothing to do with Bowers. Not that I don’t value him. But we already have large resources at the position. There is no way you can tell me a 3rd TE is more valuable than a starting LT or a C. We have Kmet. Just a waste of a pick when you have needs that can get met.

Cam Newton would be perfect.. The only thing is would he be ok just being a backup QB.. You can't ignore his resume even if he is 2 years removed. Cam offers something that the other backups can't on soooooo many levels... If Cam could get past just being a back up QB imagine how that would shape Caleb...
I think we have Superbowl potential...in the next2 seasons....A rookie QB in the Superbowl scary...we don't know how Caleb will fit in the NFL yet.

If he would accept a backup/mentor type role then I would sign him.
If they don’t grab a WR in the draft then for sure on Boyd. And Tannehill would be good at a value. Tyson Bagent has the mental make up and heart of what you’d want. Unfortunately he has a noodle arm and literally can’t make most of the NFL throws. That’s ok. There’s a reason he is an UDFA. I love him in the QB room and think he’d be helpful. But Tannehill can be helpful plus can go .500 if he needs to play. But this is all only after we are good at DE and OL.

The mentoring thing is way overblown. Caleb will learn from the coaches, so paying tannehill millions is a waste of money.
