He had such a good heart, he wasnt meant for this world. We are all lucky to have heard a little piece of his soul, the world is lacking without him being here.
My favorite song "Mouthful of Cavities". If this music makes sense to you, then I think we all have been at the same place at one time or another. Anyone who reads this.... I hope you find peace in your life. If nobody has ever told you that they love you. I love you and you are here for a reason!!!!
Hey I just spent like 20 minutes trying to find this video and this comment just to tell you thanks!!! I googled this song several days ago because I saw you mentioning it and it became one of my favourites. I just fell in love with it. Thanks for sharing.
My all time favorite episode of Intimate & Interactive. I'd just started high school in grade 9 when this originally aired. I watched it then and have watched it a ton of times since. I miss Shannon.
"Soup" is such an amazing album. Their first album was gold, but Soup was so dark and naked- like a heavier, intoxicated "Automatic for the People." It's hard to listen to knowing Shannon's demons were beginning to take the reigns. Rest in peace, brother. God bless your family and your daughter.
I know, poor kid thought he was asking him why he asked the question but those of us who have followed Shannon know that he was making a whole statement paragraph: why did I give my life up for drugs?, why do I continue to do them?, why did I decide to enter the music industry?, why did I even leave home?.......
@@mikeblaz did you see the? That he drew on his forehead during one of his last time singing on TV? They said he was questioning himself and why Kurt Cobain killed himself, and how he didn't want to die and leave his family behind. He was being sincere and in his mind he thought everybody knew what he was referring to. The poor kid of course didn't know and thought that he was asking him why he asked the question. Sad thing is the question was two months before he passed away.
Crazy thing is I think he might have been sober at this point but I watched the documentary recently and they did say that they were shocked with how he was acting one of the last music videos and Shannon said that he felt like he had become a bad person. It wasn't too long after that he had such a mega relapse.
@@juneblossom4382 honestly watching this I’m like 95% sure he’s coked out and probably had been on a bender for a few days, that shakiness and struggle to talk is a give away. I’ve been there too unfortunately
"You said they were like Hee Haw, which part did you play?" Lost Child. Oh Shannon, this is why I relate to you so well. 💕🙏 miss him. Also, you just got to love why he doesn't just name a character he names the state of mind of the character.
Especially when the guy asked what he would put in an autobiography. So sad that it ended up having to be a biography. Or at least a documentary or two. 😢
He was a good person with a bad addiction, a lot of people are addicted to things and I'd like to see them try to get off of them like Shannon did. He was an addict and he ended up having access to whatever he wanted and that got him into the most trouble. 😢 He was trying to get sober for his little girl.
@kozmicblues14 You have right!!! Really. Thank you for saying it. I agree.. People who says that bullshit don't even know what music is ; / Shannon was such an amazing person.. His soul... His music... Everytime when I watch interviews or music videos with him I am sad and I just think 'why him?'.. I love Blind Melon so much. I am 14 too ;) but I really feel music. and I really appreciate what did you write ;) (sorry for my English, I'm from Poland ;))
Miss u bro Always fucking do You set shit up though, got enough work in You saved a lot of us We'll get em next time, for sure awesomeUpload it's like we're all hangingOut together
Dont look now but Shannon used to record EVERYTHING on his video camera. They just basically put out a video autobiography. Its heartbreaking knowing what happens but it's amazing.
@naraka28 ok, i understand. musicians dieing from drugs is almost boring at this point. too many great people snuffed out by drugs over the years, pisses me off. its just a shame.
@savagembrace if there were more people around him like me at the time to tell him what a coked up idiot he was,he might still be alive today.i feel bad for the dude and his family, dont get me wrong.
dreadedwheat26 do you idiots even realize how hard it is to beat addiction well this was 7 years ago maybe you’ve got caught up. And most people get addicted bc they are prescribed shit!!!
When SH was discovered dead on the tour bus in NO, the media said, “Quick! How old was he?” When they learned he was 28 and two months, they said, “Damn! He didn’t make the club!”
@@lucidkate nope it was confirmed recently that he had been sober and he went on a 2 day coke bender basically and had a heart attack. They think that being clean for a few months and then having a huge party night shocked his heart too much. Zero sleep, cocaine, and your heart can just stop. If someone was around when it happened or saw it happen they may have been able to save him with CPR. Maybe that would have been what it took to realise he needed to stop. Maybe it would have saved him. Maybe.....

I was there myself... Unfortunately I didn't appreciate blind melon then as I do today.

its amazing to think, he passed away just a few weeks after this interview, and having his child. What an amazing group they are, sad to die so young.

"Why" Perfect answer
Not really...It was short and smartass to a fan. Would Vedder (who is still alive) reply like that?

Shannon was a great guy
I remember watching this live on tv (yeah, I'm old) and thinking Shannon didn't look well. I was less shocked when I heard of his death soon after.

Sad watching the end of that. You can tell he knows how bad his addictions are.
It is, but I think he was sober at this point. He then relapsed in New Orleans on the way to his next gig. 😢
You csn tell he was struggling:(
My hero and idol.. shame what happened to him. If I could time travel, I would bring him from all of the people back!
This was shot in Canada; the host is Terry David Mulligan, a cop-turned-broadcaster who must be about 80 now.
It's so weird when you realize that at the time of this interview, he would only be alive for another month.

In all of the books/biographies written about Shannon, I wonder if any start with "why? "
Lol.
So sad, you can see him making those weird grinding mouth moves that cocaine use gives people when he's answering questions in the beginning.

You should watch Kurt Cobain's mouth on Live at Reading 1992. he does the same thing. Bruxism due to drugs.
