If you know anything about damage, you fully understand why this whole set is as important as laynes last MTV.
Yup !! The difference is Shannon didn't know he was going to die , he was so happy about that little girl of his.
Layne knew it was going to happen just a matter of when . Layne had pretty much given up on himself .
I really miss them both ! I think in a year or two Shannon would have branched off to do his own thing .
@@MeLoNHeAd00 sad too lose two great and kind hearted souls.
They both had so much left to do.
Caught them.early on in SF.
Small club big sound!
What a presence!
@@SyphexGaming I don't think there voices were meant to age but be frozen in time as they were .
I ought to listen to more of Terence's talks, it's been far too long since I have.
Man no joke, I must have listened to this song like 3000 times and I still think its the most intense music video on youtube right now.. he felt what he was singing SO MUCH.. I miss him real bad.
Same ...
Yep Hoon is Badass..🍻
Yes that's called crafting music at that level for yourself and delivering it right
No dork, he was just singing what he felt.
@@StephenAndrew777 go away my boy
I get teary eyed when I watch the Intimate & Interactive concert. When it gets to "Galaxie" I always break down ballin' like a baby. Now I can only listen to Blind Melon when I feel like death. Death had already consumed Shannon Hoon by this point & it is very noticable. I am very fortunate to be alive and off the opiates.
2024 still listening to this after all these years on my top list
jeez he is screaming with all his heart. one of the greatest singers ive ever heard
Greatest live set of all time..this entire set is a spiritual experience. Watch all of it
@@clayturner5777 this and the Alice In Chains unplugged probably are the most soulful live performances ever recorded
Shannon is so hyped, he can't wait for the riff
it's the cocaine
Still the greatest of all time ...an itch that only Melon can scratch.
yepp
I feel him so alone, when he sings he is totally abstracted, with overflowing feelings, his gestures and his broken voice makes me feel his force and a point of madness, when I listen this song I think that I can feel what he feels!! But in other songs his voice is so sweet, it's magic to me this guy...
same feeling here
כל כך מדויק, מרגישה בדיוק אותו דבר, בשיר הזה הדמעות יורדות לבד
@Kevin Ross I truly believe Shannon knew his destiny Seems like the drugs stole his soul. He had no control & love to be high.
The drugs made him crazy near the end of his life. Making the video Galaxy he freaked out all his band mates. Sad story and ending for such a beautiful talented soul. ❤️❤️❤️
@@michaelpal5807 True, and sadly this was filmed 2 weeks before his death. The toll the cocaine took on him is so obvious in this video.
@@pgcenterprises5598 I thought I was the only one in these comments that had that pain in their chest watching it.
Hitting those notes is impossible for most of us .. effortless for him
So much fucking energy. Can you feel it??
are you feelin' it Mr. crabs
This is my favorite blind melon song no doubt I literally feel it in my soul every time I listen
Shannon was immense here. Gave me goosebumps listening to this
greatest of all time. PERIOD...once you go MELON, nothing you've listened to prior compares.
I think it's the voice, the dynamics and the cellos and the Cajun hint, Cajun is like jazz bebop from the 20s.
twinning names lol
Agreed
For sure
Phil Joy Tool
Hoon was on fire live. Another dead hero.
I swear Shannon's voice is so ill..... like something I would hear echoing around in a dream
You said it perfectly Papi.
I think the bongos add a nice sound
The man is a f king god
His voice was amazing.
I know there is a lot of love being said about shannon but I also want to acknowledge just how amazing every band member was! Glen plays the drums with insane fills throughout the whole song! Brad is on point with those bass harmonics and vocals! Chris makes such a badass riff in the chorus! And then you got Roger's destroying it on lead guitar! This band was so in tune with each other, and not something you see very often!!
Yessss the entire band is TIGHT. They're all masters at what they do... they're a severely underrated band as a whole
Damn I wish we had some more albums with Shannon. Would be interesting to see what he would have done next
@@jb-yi4di I actually think he would have done a solo album or 2. Definitely would have been interesting!
So right. Some bands you can be just listening to the vocal but with the Melon you enjoy all the instruments and their unique brilliance.
Agree! The band has so much talent and were incredibly tight unit! I was always surprised they didn't or couldn't find a new singer and continue to play as Blind Melon in Shannon's memory....They were an excellent band!
i love the eye shadow running down his face it looks like black tears
Such a brilliant damned soul. A flare in a world of candles. Rip HOON
Hands down one of the most intense and powerful performances of a song ever, yet he made it seem so effortless. Just perfection.
These guys had so many amazing songs, i could never understand y they only play no rain on the radio. They were an amazing band RIP shannon
Cos radio is shallow shite controlled by advertising
"...And though inside I'm feeling gitty always wrong for never giving myself that uninvaded door...", every time I hear this part and the way it is intimately sang I get shivers...
By only playing "No Rain", they have left a treasure of amazing music behind. My fav BM song, and I never understood how a rich catalog gets ignored. Brilliant performance.
Change and this one are my favs .
I love Shannon, I could watch him all day!
same. in fact...i DO! 😜
I sure miss our dear Shannon Hoon. I love you, Shannon, rest in peace.
Does anyone else ever hear Janis Joplin in his voice?
Yesh
he had so much talent and his voice was amazing!! only one Shannon... rip bro!!
After listening to this brilliant piece of music I found myself going through the comments and liking one after the other after the other until I realized that this band basically touches everyone’s heart and soul. I’m speechless. Shannon will be missed forever!
❤
He was so unique. Damn it.
*CANT. STOP. WATCHING*
Damm what an awesome performance! and the singing!! Holy shit!
The absolute greatest live performance I've seen. Better than any of the 33 Grateful Dead shows I've been blessed to see. Intense energy, a glimpse of his greatness amongst a string of shows where his voice had seemed strained. Brilliance.
Shannon has a grateful dead feel to his music.
Thank you goes out to Blind Melon helping me shape my thoughts, opinions and views about myself and surroundings. High school wouldn't have been the same. My first cruise in my first car. My first date. Well my first everything really. And now,My kids are listening to blind melon. Most people mourn over the death of someone to long. When they should be great full that the one there mourning left behind a rich history in a short amount of time.
Amazing voice. My favorite BM song. Rip Shannon
I listen to them almost everyday!!!
This is so beautiful in a sad kinda way
what a fucking performance, one of my all time favourites
I remember watching this when it aired, pretty sure I recorded it to VHS as well, but those tapes are long gone or degraded now from watching them over and over.
I remember also cutting out the tribute to Shannon Hoon when he died, that was even in the entertainment section of my local newspaper here in Alberta, Canada.
There is something really touching when they come together in the part: "to lie beside this dog o mine" his voice really high with a natural overdrive timming with the Cymbal, they rock!!! Beutiful...they were in their best moment. I hadn't the opportunity to wacth their show, It seems to be good as fuck!
That climax is everything... 🤘❤️🩹🤘
I love this Band. Rip.Shannon Hoon.
Such a power vocal, god damn
One month and nine days later he would be found dead. For me that gives a lot of meaning to this performance. So visceral, so broken, so sad and hopeless... But he's up there, trying to exorcise his inner demons, and everything is so incredible beautiful at the same time.. I don't know how to even put it in words..
Soul and passion... Hoon
Miss ya' Shannon. You light sparkled more then most.
Song gives me the chills on every listen. Missed.
Shannons dance when the riff starts 😂 love it
So sad. Tears across the floor...........
He was on Fire !!!
I'd scrape my face across the floor.........
Sure did love his music still do. RIP😔
MY FAVORITE!
That was intense. Damn Shannon, it would have been sweet. We all miss you.
I so wish this song was longer, I could listen to it over & over again. Especially this powerful performance of theirs!
musicians are taken from us on purpose , sound has a much greater effect on our mind and body than we are taught , blind melon made such amazing music together ,
Much respect to R. S . Hoon
Wow never thought of that but I totally agree
Fuck I'm a musician no joke trying to make it to 28 and stay out of the 27 club
🖕💉
26 years today we lost this beautiful man
Still sucks !
my favorite 😍
I went to see them at the Mean Fiddler in Harlesden, London in 1995, they were awesome .
Saw them in Milton Keynes in the 90s , so glad I did, utter brilliance ..
Damn I love this song. The drums at 2:31 to 2:36 are so fire
2020 still here
Hearing this whole set and the live at the metro is so good. The music speaks to every emotion a person can feel with every song. Some songs you feel one emotion more than others but it's such a musical journey melon head for life
What a wonderful song, and how sad it is that this charming magnetic human is dead since 1995 :-(
This is my favorite blind melon track!! ☝ legend
Man, Shanoon was gorgeous 😢
What a terrible loss
You can tell that Shannon needed an extented break, but he still gave his all. "All I can say is" thank you.
This entire set is the greatest of all time. Mindblowing greatness
Shannon Hoon ❤Rest in peace
this is the best rock and roll single i have ever heard. it's perfection. leaves you wanting more every time.
Amo essa música
I love you forever...R.I.P Shannon Hoon
Two!
Vocalist is outta this world
Was lucky to see them play a couple times that last year. Really lucky!!!!!
Great times
I like Face Across the Floor better than Toes Across the Floor
best band ever
Fuck he could sing salute u sir
miss you Shannon - R.I.P
Thanks for your music
Blind Melon is so underrated!
I never really listened to much of their music but this was impressive. I'm going to dig into their catalog.
Death is so odd to me , nobody shook this guy and said “hey maybe you’re gonna die in a month or so “ what a legend . His voice was perfect
Right about a month before Shannon died..
Damn dude..
24 years ago this week... RIP Shannon
25 now this week.
MAravilloso tema !!!!!!
Somehow this song sends me back to a certain time, and I mean the exact time.. Like a smell can send you back to a moment. My sense of smell is long gone because of coke, but I remember what that was like
real talent, not this garbage we hear nowadays.
NO SHIT 😮
Don't give up hope, there are plenty good new bands to listen to. Caro, Nothing But Thieves, alt-J, lots of great new-ish talent.
His eyes look so sad, its like he knew what was about to happen.
Soup was that dope album nobody talked about but everyone knew all the words to every trac. Hi Becca, hope you see it ~``~
That double tap on his fore head... so true, so felt.
Way to see the synchronicity in events, man!
Still miss you Shannon
What a great song!... RIP Shannon Hoon...
I'm so disappointed in myself for not "discovering" this song before a few days ago.
❤️ 😢 Shannon R.I.P
"So tell me why am I to lie? If I'm holding firm and feel the right - to lie beside this dog of mine and let that perverted thought burn a hole in my mind." Wow Shannon....I don't know where you were going with that one brother but I still love to sing it with you......R.I.P.
A dog is man’s best friend. So Shannon’s “dog” were drugs. The perverted thought is his best friend sticking him with its needle. The hunter’s dog called god refers to the constellation above us, or the heavens above us where people find their new best friend, the biblical god, and get over their addictions. 🤷🏼♂️ For what it’s worth, that’s how I interpret the lyrics.
best of the best--he left on top of his game. this was taped right before he died.
I love the outro
Seems like 70's music on 90's.
I l;ove BlindMelonTV for posting alll this cool BM shit!
Awesome talent!! rip Shannon I love this song...!
Would’ve loved to hear him sing a tool song
I miss Shannon
