ORBX TE Washington in curved screen home cockpit

- A short flight between Orcas Island (KORS) and Darrington (1S2) in X-Plane11. Scenery used is ORBX True Earth Washington and the add-on packages aswell from ORBX for both airports. The flight is executed in a fixed base non-professional home simulator with a real aircraft shell and 3 short throw projectors for 270 degrees view.
The best diy simulator I've seen great job man 👌👌👌
Even though this is not one of the larger 737 set ups some people have. This from a flight perspective is the most realistic looking sim I have seen.
Very well done. Hopefully projector technology can advance to the point where you can get a higher contrast. But either way. I am jealous.
Very nice set up.
Yes, there could be a better visual detail. But from sitting inside it is rather realistic for the moment.
Really nice setup!
It looks like real life ;) imagine having this setup i Flight Simulator 2020
FlugTaxen thanks, I am waiting to move it to 2020 as soon as my core systems (warped screen, G1000, gauges) connect to it - and I have to wait for the software to be released too😀
Beacon (BCN) goes on before engine start. It's function is to warn those nearby the plane is about to start. It's not a Nav light. The Nav lights are the red/green/white combination on wingtips and tail. Very nice Simpit.
Actually I do not know too much about procedures to start up an aircraft but this I know. But I do often not really care too much about the correct flow - in my case there are certain backlightings bound to NAV and BCN hardware keys, so that's at least something where I can make a physical use of them. But thanks for pointing it out - if I find the time I want to learn more about correctly handling the aircraft, momentarily I am more in sim building.
Awesome setup, check out what weve done too! Nice to see another innovative sim builder. Great job!
Hi, plz help to set up the view as you have from the cabin without the cockpit? Thx in advance
In Xplane you can load the aircraft in planemake and disable objects that should not be shown. In some aircraft it is all you need. In other cases you have to download the free trial of the software AC3D and get the free xplane plugin for it. Then you can import sections of the aircraft you use and delete parts that are unwanted. Then you can have a cockpit free view and still see the wings.
We need more flight vlogs in this sim!!!
One thing that you didn’t show in the video of you building this was actually connecting the wires and programming it into the computer (you only showed saudering) if you could explain that that would be great. (On how you programmed every switch into the sim. And how you connected it.) thx
I will be uploading af simroom tour in the next days, so a few things will be explained here. But in my case every button is connected to a joystick board controller - so you can assign those with any simplatform in the setup. No programming. Outputs through SimVim - this is the solution I would recommend most.
Very nice,
I see you have the low voltage message stays on, I also have the Simionic hardware , your voltage display probably is below 24 volts, that is the threshold to get rid of the message .
The Baron needs 28 volts and it is displayed correct in the dataref .
Reported it already to Li Chen, and he will look in to it.
Btw, can you maintain descent fps in overcast conditions with 3 beamers?
ebawebaw yes exactly my problem, hope Chen fixes it. I get lower FPS in True Earth, Even here in the SD install. So just clear weather for the moment, need a new graphics card.
I have a GTX1080TI, and it struggles with clouds overcast at 4 K with 1 screen.
Even a 2080 TI will not give that much of a difference i fear,
I absolutely love this simulator set up. Something like this is my goal. I just somehow have to convince my wife as to why this is a good idea.
Until then. This goal will remain a dream of mine.
To be fair my girlfriend at the time I started with the hobby did not support me at all in this matter. My wonderful wife now understands that it is way better (from her point of view) to stay at home with my hobby and that the maximum risk of a crash is software or hardware related. Good arguments for your wife maybe that she is one day as understanding as mine.
@@AlfredtwinSim lol ... I will try that
Nice set up!! The first time I saw this video I forgot I was watching a simulator...looking out the window and watching those big engines spin up was really exciting!! It looks like you've go yourself a real winner here!! Hope you have many good hours flying this beast!!! Does she have a name??? You gotta giver her a name!!;)...C ya....🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Thanks for the nice words. Just 20 to 60 min a week in the sim, too much family duties and great summer weather inbetween. No, never thought about a name. Need to find out what suits her (or him as simulator is Male in German)😀
Very nice as always. Have a good Christmas my friend.
DazaXIII thanks my friend, ORBX Washington had some problems with my installed scenery so I had to temporarily exclude everything else to be able to run it. Nasty, will take some time in the holiday season now to slowly activate the rest step by step again to track down what was issuing the conflict. But need to get back to NZ soon! Hope you are settled again and all the best!
Amazeballs! Can I say that on YT?
When msfs 2020 comes out your sim is gonna be LIT
Indeed - have alreay made a very early test flight with MS2020 recently - but since most of the hardware does not support it yet it is still some time to wait.
Your sim looks amazing !
Do you know what kind of fps are you getting on your visuals?
25 Fps, depends on the scenery, the weather and if I am on an Airport or not
Are you thinking about fs2020?
FX W almost every day. But even when it is released I need to wait for 3 major hardware/software providers of my cockpit to offer compatibility and that might take some time...
Alfred twinSim Yes, the compatibility with hardware (I should say the software of the hardware) is a big question with fs2020.
When we have a full cockpit (I had a baron 58, and I’m building a cessna 150) the migration from’a sim to another is a big deal. And as you did it perfectly with Xplane I didn’t know if you had the motivation to go for fs2020 (wich seems to be awesome).
But I have my answer, you think about it!
@@fxFRA27 I did reach out to Chen about FS2020 support for the Simionic. He hasn't gotten access to the SDK yet but Microsoft does state that they are leveraging the existing SimConnect library from FSX which suggests it works without enhancements. I'll be picking up the Simionic soon!
how much was the cost of building lower panel?
Difficult to calculate that isolated since it was one panel. With the 3 gauges around 800
I have to say it, I'm jealous.
thank you! go for building your own setup - I am not an egineer nor an electronics expert - it can start small and grow:)
Awesome
Always fly with your left hand on the yoke while flying in the left seat. Hands on the throttles during takeoff, approach and landing.
Greg Rittichier fully agree in general and thanks for pointing it out. But just to clarify I filmed the whole flight with one hand to bring this video on camera. Saying this the landing was rather a challenge...
Great job and really nice sim.
Nobody asked for your trolling input. Build your own cockpit and start your own channel if you think you are better.
Well done, sir. Thanks for the inspiring content.
Ugh looks like 30 FPS or so. :/ Absolutely stunning simulator though.
Thanks, indeed this orbx package is a frame eater, in the airport area it is far below 30. but I have a new pc with high end specs waiting but did not yet jump into reinstalling everything.
@@AlfredtwinSim any plans for msfs 2020? :)
Why are the graphics so bad
Don't know what you mean - the scenery or the representation on the screen (or maybe both?) Having seen now MS2020 the graphics in general there are just excellent and for me the reason to move as soon as the hardware drivers allow it. The curved screen with 3 projectors can not be changed much, but the presentation is pretty much comperable to my real life flying experience - a little hazy and not that such as some simmers are doing it in 4k.
