  • Amazing performance of x-plane v11.25 in my G58 Home Cockpit circling around NZQN Queenstown Airport in New Zealand using orthos from Lyndiman and the airport from DazaXIII, both freeware. I got between 25-30fps on 3 full-HD short throw beamers, which is perfectly fluent.
    System is Intel Core i7-7700K with GTX1070

    Probably the most realistic experience seen on a home cockpit, maybe thanks to the slightly hazed image ... it is hard to notice difference from real world ... GREAT !!!

    One of the most realistic sims I’ve seen, nicely done.

    I had a flight in real life from Auckland to Queenstown by JetStar a couple of years ago and it was brilliant weather so clear you could see for miles. My wife and I loved Queenstown but what a route into it would not liked to do it when cloud is around.

    Very interesting that you get 25-30fps. I have an i7 10700k with an rtx 3090ti and I only get 20-22 fps. And the sliders are all in the middle. Nothing maxed out...

    Nice video and your own personal logo on the yoke. I like it….I like the logo better than the landing anyway : ) Although on a Mount Cook test flight over the weekend I forgot to put the wheels down so I can’t say too much about good landings.
    As you mentioned it, I’m the same with frame rates. Even at the bigger airports and around cities like Auckland or Christchurch my frame rates in New Zealand are much higher than America or Europe. This is a total guess but it may be that it’s simply a smaller population in the country so there’s less buildings and stuff for X Plane to deal with. But whatever it is, NZ looks great with the Lyndiman ortho and it’s my flying home now so I just call it a nice bonus that it gets better FPS as well.

      DazaXIII haha, I was so stunned by your beautiful airport that I forgot to actually land, I just clapped the aircraft onto the runway😀 So you are testing already a Mount Cook airport? Look forward to fly there soon! Yes, it is a worthy virtual flying home!

      Emmanouil Kaftakis thanks! It is a turnkey solution powered by iPads made by simionic

    How did you manage to keep the wings in view but no 3D cockpit? Did you make an edit in plane maker?

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  4 роки тому +1

      Actually yes, I did deactivate most visible surfaces in plane maker. Further more I played in there also with the view point to get certain remaining elements out of sight.

    Very nice video one of the best home sim out there! How did you get this outside view with the wings visible but no cockpit and instrument panel in front of you? Is it a modified 3d cockpit view? Thanks for a quick response.

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  6 років тому

      Res Waag thanks! You can either put the view forward in 3D view to sit on the front nose or modify the aircraft as you said. Here it is modified in a combination of planemaker and a software tool that allows spme basic modifications.

    The G1000 your using has only one set of engine instruments on the MFD. Now you are flying a twin engine, is that a problem.?
    I was looking at using the G1000 for my kingair sim until I realised this, with the kingair I need the gauges a lot. I can't find a G1000 software which has twin gauges on the MFD, as in real life. Great Sim, good work.

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  6 років тому

      Actually it has exactly the twin engine profile for the Baron running, so fitting perfectly! I would love to build a new panel for a King Air sim, it is already in the design phase, but yet there is no King Air Engine profile available. Still I expect the developer to make one in the future...

    How long did the sim take to make? Do you think it could be made in 10 months?

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  5 років тому

      BaconFat Studios sourcing of elements like yokes, gauges and shell takes some time. Of course learning stuff and trying out things takes time. In this case it did not take me longer than 3 months since I was already up and running with another panel so then it can be done in short time when you know how.

      @@AlfredtwinSim Cheers. Will shortly start making my first home cockpit (Cessna 172) for a school project to be completed by April next year. Thanks for providing an insight and motivation into this great hobby!

    What software are you running for the instructor station?

    • @AlfredtwinSim

      just the original free ipad app from Laminar (xplane)

      @TriadAgone 4 роки тому

      @@AlfredtwinSim I'm having trouble using the laminar iPad app. I thought support was removed in xp11.2?

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  4 роки тому

      TriadAgone works flawlessly. But you need to be in the same wireless network and you need to allow it in the xplane settings, pretty straight forward.

    How did you get your cockpit switches connected to X-Plane 11?

    • @AlfredtwinSim
      @AlfredtwinSim  5 років тому +1

      I/O card, quite straight forward and there are many around to chose from.
