Thanks for checking out this video!! What do you think of this series? Any recommendations?
Loved the idea and a great set to start with! Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd original, Shinedown covered it amazingly!
Awesome series. If you love solos and riffs you should check out Megadeth - Tornado of souls.Keep up the good work.
Awesome idea, love it!
Would also like to see comparisons between early and more recent songs of great bands you already liked in a first impression.
To me Simon & Garfunkel win out in this one. But Disturbed did a great cover of Land of Confusion (Genesis)
Other suggestions
- Wicked Game - Chris Isaak/HIM
- I Only Want To Be With You - Dusty Springfield/Volbeat
- Imagine - John Lennon/A Perfect Circle
- Summer Night City - Abba/Therion
- Better Off Dead - Bad Religion/Anathema
- Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden/Cradle of Filth
This could be a good series. It has potential. And nice song to start.
Suggestions? Sure! I'm always fine in suggesting songs (I bet you already noticed that XD). Guns N’ Roses - Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (Bob Dylan), HIM - Wicked Game (Chris Isaak), Evereve - House Of The Rising Sun (The Animals), Lacuna Coil - Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode), Van Halen - La Grange (ZZ Top), Motörhead - Heroes (David Bowie), Machine Head - Message In A Bottle (The Police), A Perfect Circle - Imagine (John Lennon), Dragonforce - Ring Of Fire (Johnny Cash), Korn - Another Brick In The Wall (Pink Floyd), Deftones - If Only Tonight We Could Sleep (The Cure), Megadeth - These Boots Are Made For Walkin' (Nancy Sinatra), Devildriver - Sail (Awolnation), Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams (EURYTHMICS), ...
Judas Priest's cover of "Diamonds and Rust" or Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams" are a couple good ones.
Paul Simon doesn't give up the rights to his songs easily but when the Band came to him and gave him a preview he was bowled over and yes with no reservations. I remember reading how nervous they were to present it to him because he is so well respected.
I’m 77 years old and I grew up with the old version , The disturbed version is genius and epic it grabs your soul too bad you didn’t watch the visuals on their album ,The song tells the story of music and the singer is just wonderful best voice I have ever heard . Now when I listen to the old version it feels like a jingle to me.
Do Hurt by NIN vs Johnny Cash, guys...
Awesome song and awesome interpretations...
And the return "ring of fire".
I'm all for this, as long as they explain both reasons it was chosen. For NIN, it was recovery and what it felt like with people disappearing around you. With Johnny, it was his extremely dark past with heroin and how substance abuse destroyed his life and, at the end of his days, how his world felt.
this this right here 👆
The Johnny Cash version breaks me every time
That is an awesome suggestion!
Simon and Garfunkel's version makes you think. Disturbed's version makes you feel.
Simon and Garfunkel's version was a warning.
Disturbed's version is rage because the warning was ignored.
Underrated comment.
Schnaffte aside from the lyrics. ...what warning went ignored?
@@stephenspero3201 just read the lyrics and think about it, than you will understand my comment
I get it. I just thought you may want to expand on your comment. Interesting contrast between versions.
@Peter Ang While Poorts version is fine, he is an Opera singer trying to do metal. It doesn't quite match up.
What you are doing with your kids is outstanding! These are discussions that often can only be found in English Lit. classes, and vary rarely in homes. But you are sharing your thoughts and interpretations among your family. Your kids already show great insight, a willingness to listen to each other, critical thinking skills. Kudos!
"Gone Away" originally by The Offspring, covered by Five Finger Death Punch.
Blue on Black by Kenny Wayne Shepherd and covered by FFDP. Kenny Wayne Shepherd himself is in it with Brian May of Queen
My respect to Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel..genious lyrics and beutifull song..thanks alot
Turn the page - Bob Sager covered by Metallica
Whiskey in the jar - Thin Lizzy covered by Metallica
Stairway to heaven - Led Zeppelin covered by Mastodon
Whiskey in the jar is not a Thin Lizzy original, but a traditional irish song with roots from the 17'th century. The Dubliners recorded it before Lizzy did.
Bob Seeger. Typo.
Un4Given71
Right, but would it be fair to say Metallica covered Thin Lizzy’s version?
I'd much rather it be Stairway covered by Heart at Kennedy. Never heard of Mastodon:P Not saying it isn't good, but Heart killed it. And they didn't just kill it, they killed it while Zep was there. Imagine playing Zep for ZepO.O
Like the suggestions James, but I would like to hear Led Zeppelin's cover of Nobody's Fault but Mine, the original cover of Blind Willie Johnson.
Holy Diver by Dio and Killswitch Engage.
Land of Confusion by Genesis and Disturbed (if you want something that is closer to Disturbeds regular style).
Yes! Both amazing covers and would be great to compare.
In Flames did a cover of Land Of Confusion as well! Maybe a trio-comparison video for that one would be cool.
@@anthonyshreve3183 Yeah I'm a huge In Flames fan, but I think that version is maybe a bit too different? But I guess a triple would be even better indeed!
@@Hamsda77 that is true. That might make the comparison even better though. Almost like hearing a completely new song.
@@anthonyshreve3183 they did what?! Yep, gotta check that out now 🤘
A great classic cover vs original that you should do is the Bob Dylan song All Along the Watchtower. Dylan did the original and it was covered by Jimmy Hendrix.
The interesting part is that when Bob Dylan heard Hendrix 's version, he liked it so much that he proclaimed it to be the superior version and in future performed the song in Hendrix' s style.
That's something comming from a man many regard as the greatest songwriter of all time, and quite ironic since Hendrix idolised Dylan.
We can go for a threeway here. Bob Dylan, Jimmy Hendrix, Devlin ft. Ed Sheeran.
This song was originally released with just one acoustic guitar and the two voices. It didn't go anywhere, and the duo split up to follow separate paths. A producer at Columbia, Tom Wilson (who also handled Dylan's slide over to electric music) after learning the track was gaining a little traction in Boston and down the east coast, got a few musicians to overdub the electric guitar, bass and drums while adding a little echo. The result eventually went to #1 on Billboard and Cashbox charts. Simon and Garfunkel then reunited and hurriedly put together an album to capitalize on the song's success. Pretty strange birth for a number that became iconic for the folk-rock genre.
High Hopes by Pink Floyd and by Nightwish
add the Caliban version as well^^
"Does he have his chin pierced!!!"... just priceless!!!
Wow - your daughter really is a smart young woman. When I listen to her speaking about music and here in this video about news and media - I really feel relieved, that there are young people out there, who are interested in more than Instagram, Kardashians and other......not important stuff.
I like your channel, Chuck. You seem to be a very cool and relaxed dad and you have great kids. Really. Well done! You deserve so many more subscribers.
Greetings from Germany!
Love this concept. Hope to see more of the cover songs vs originals. It was also fun seeing all 3 of you guys together!
I love what you guys are doing. This is a great use of technology today. Parents getting to experience these kinds of things with their kids. Kudos to you guys. And It is refreshing that your daughter (I assume I am new here) was able to have respect for and appreciate S & G version while still enjoying listening to the disturbed version. I agree I am older and grew up with S & G version but have tremendous respect for how Disturbed interpreted this song. I am quite passionate about this (and have been working for months to launch a channel here on YT where I will re-interpret great songs from all genres/eras, I think that is something that keeps music evolving and can revive great music from other genres and eras and gain them exposure to wider audiences.) I am happy to see you guys "getting" it they both are great they both hold their own. I do feel disturbed was able to really relay the emotion of the lyric in their reinterpretation though and enjoyed it more. Great Video guys keep up the good work.
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan and Guns 'n' Roses
The Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie and Nirvana
Beautiful cover of a beautiful song, thank you so much, DISTURBED is new for me. I'll want to hear more. This was like a whole different song, so powerful with such deep emotion. This is a treat!
One thing missing here is talking about the groups.
Simon and Garfunkel are more than just a group, they were the pinnacle of a subset of 1960's music-the bohemian/acoustic guitar groups (like Crosby Stills Nash and Young). The above mentioned groups wrote protest songs and songs about the human condition.
Rockers from 1955-89 era were schooled in the classical music school. The songs had an intro, verse one, verse two, instrumental interlude, verse three and coda. No matter the subset of rock you find this song structure. Simon and Garfunkel are obviously well schooled music wise and their use of guitar and piano is so well done that listening to their music is like sitting in music class.
thank you for starting this new series with this great song(s)! I've literally just come home from a metalfestival here in Germany and we've had a loooooot of conversations about the lack of (or better: misuse of the term of) 'discussion', i.e. people talking without speaking, listening without hearing; And as on the fields of the RockHarz i see a great view that really gives me hope for the years to come - people of wildly varying generations being able to see beyond pundits, talking heads and faultlines of our own creation. Music can be so much more than 'just' entertainment ;) As for further Covers i can only go with the people who already pointed out "Hurt" by Reznor/Cash and "Hallelujah" by Cohen/Buckley - cheers! =D
"The internet is breaking music for the youth of today."
Take my thumbs up you sly devil.
Ideas for this series: 1. (OG) The Cranberries-Zombie; (cover) Bad Wolves-Zombie 2. (OG) Dio-Holy Diver; (cover) Killswitch Engage-Holy Diver
Pain of Salvation also did a cover of Holy Diver, and it couldn't be more different from the original XD
@@Brombit I'll have to check that one out, I haven't heard it
Burning Witches (swiss all female Powermetal Band) also did a cover of Holy Diver
Pain of Salvation's cover of Holy Diver is great :) Very different from Dio's though.
Bad wolves version is garbage compared to the crans. Sorry, not sorry.
Congrats on raising two beautiful, intelligent and eloquent young people. They are a pleasure to listen to.
Great idea. Please also do David Bowie "The Man Who Sold the World" and the cover done by Nirvana for their Unplugged show.
Or Queen "Stone Cold Crazy" vs Metallica version
That would be so unfair to David Bowie.
Nirvana wasted Bowie
Okay, new subscriber, definitely part of your "Circle of Death" group. Watched a few of your videos, but REALLY appreciate this gem. Haven't seen any other "reaction" channel that has done a back-to-back comparison of the original compared to the remake. This is how any remake should be reacted to. Like the dad, I am more of the old school metal head who grew up being exposed to the "Big Four", and growing from there. I lean to a (very) slightly lighter version of metal (Melodic Death Metal, or Melodeath). Keep posting videos like this, as I love good covers, please!
In my opinion, i think the original version of Sound of Silence is the best, I like Disturbed songs and their cover of Land of confusion is awesome! it is as great as Genesis original song, but in this case I prefer the original song of Simon & Garfunkel. Great video! 👍
I love this channel. Nothing better than reacting to music with the family.
GamingFreak2010 Couldn’t agree more!
"Simple man" Lynyrd Skynyrd vs. Shinedown would be one. I prefer the original but I have friends that like the Shinedown version better.
Don't forget that Deftones covered it as well! A three-way comparison would be reall cool for that.
this would be great
Awesome song!
Forget Shinedown. There's isn't good. Deftones did a great cover.
wow your daughter is so clued up - kudos to great parenting
Great video. Smart kids, and cool dad. I'm a new subscriber.
Keep up the good work, guys.
Love the idea! You should do Pink Floyd and Nightwish's version of High Hope ( End of an Era concert for Nightwish and maybe there's a live version from PF )
nightquest 78 Thanks!
@@ChemicalReactions I did some research and Pink Floyd has played it live several time
Another Disturbed cover, Land of Confusion by Genesis :)
Great cover
agreed
I love Genesis! With both singers. That said I am partial to Phil. Depending on my mood. Some days I like Disturbed version better, other days Genesis.
Great idea for a series! It's rare someone reacts back to back to the original and the cover. You have some very smart young ones there. You've done a great job as a parent!
I think deep down she got it on the level intended, you could see her demeanor change between the original S&G version and the Disturbed remake. It was a pleasure to see her reaction. Your son was searching for meaning, he kept looking at Dad for some sign of how to react, maybe in a few years when he's had some more experience, he'll "get it". Thanx for this, Peace & Strength
Mad World - Tears for Fears vs Gary Jules
Also a Mad World cover by Jasmine Thompson. (She also has a Hey, Delilah cover that's beautiful)
Throw that Cody Frost version in from I believe it was x factor!
Gary Jules version is much better. IMO, the Tears for Fears version was a child of its time (80's) and it too upbeat for the subject and lyrics. Gary Jules was able to explore the real nature of the song. This isn't to say Tears for Fears other works can be improved, as I cringe hearing covers of Shout, Head Over Heels and Everybody Wants To Rule The World.
Shout. Tears for fears vs Disturbed
The best way I've seen it described is that theS&G version was the warning, Disturb's version was "why didn't you listen to the warning"
CCRBigHoss totally makes sense
I like that!
BINGO! Heard that comparison too, and totally agreed. S&G was saying 'this is what's going on right now, you can do something about it', and Disturbed's was 'Why the F$%K did you not listen to the other guys?!?! It's still happening...now - so DO SOMETHING!!"
Both incredible versions.
Disturbed’s is faux forced anger. Zero nuance.
@@sukie584 Lol, you are delusional. Go watch the Live version they did on Conan in 2016.
Love that you have your family interaction .. great job dad!!
Very good analysis video!
Undercovers:
Thin Lizzy & Metallica - Whiskey In The Jar
Pink Floyd & Nightwish - High Hopes
Savatage & MindMaze - Strange Wings
The Kinks & Van Halen - You Really Got Me
One Republic & All Ends - Apologize
Imagine Dragons & Within Temptation - Radioactive
Does Thin Lizzy count as original though?
@@Wuthahn_ Not really, it's a traditional but I think the Dubliners' version would be a pretty good stand-in as the original version.
sopwithsnoopy Turn the Page by Bob Seger covered by Metallica.
I really like this idea most reactors that I watched never do a side by side comparison of songs that are covers or even know that a song is a cover.
I think should check out "Mad World" by Tears for Fears vs Gary Jules or "Zombies" Cranberries vs Bad Wolves or "Gone Away" The Offspring vs Five Finger Death Punch
Michael Thomas Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Michael Thomas Turn the Page is another great one. Seger’s voice make the original the king but Metallica puts a different spin on it.
Simon n Garfunkel, nuff said! Those harmonies...
Hurt by Nine Inch Nails and covered by Johnny Cash.
Wiki on Hurt:
In 2002, Johnny Cash covered "Hurt" to commercial and critical acclaim; it was one of Cash's final hits released before his death, and the related music video is considered one of the greatest of all time by publications such as NME. Reznor praised Cash's interpretation of the song for its "sincerity and meaning", going so far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore.
Do the original ‚High Hopes‘ Pink Floyd vs. ‚High Hopes‘ cover version done by Nightwish. And again, nice video!
Yes! This is a great cover.
Marco is absolutely killing this one.
I was going to suggest another song but forget it.... Do this one
Oh my yes!!
Seconded. So much.
Here's my suggestion: No Quarter by Led Zeppelin, covered by Tool. Good idea for a series!
Aside from the NIN/Johnny Cash, this would be my choice.
Amazing cover.
Word.
YES!
How about the eve of destruction. 1968.
Great reaction! Smart kids too, keep it up 😁
Greetings from Finland! You always look awesome!
Song: Wicked Game
Original: Chris Issac
Cover: HIM
Stone Sour does a much better cover
I originally heard the Stone Sour version, and for the longest time thought it was a Stone Sour Original
Endless BD That’s the one I know and really appreciate.
To a young mind the vocals that Dave laid down there are just another old dude singing. Perspective of the difficulty with both arrangements can easily be overlooked, but don't be mistaken that you are hearing two of the greatest vocalists of our time.
This was a great concept for a reaction!
I really enjoyed this video. I thought all three of you made good points and was very pleased to see the level of discussion from all of you, especially the young people. Some really great points.
One point which may add to the conversation regarding the two versions and their time period. Simon & Garfunkel created and sang the song during the sixties when the flower child movement was gaining ground and the message was of protest and love. Disturb's version is in our current climate which is increasing in a time of anger and frustration. I think both artists effectively represented the song for their own time.
Nice video :)
pet shop boys vs. Ghost vs. Gamma Ray: It's a sin
R E M vs. Graveworm: Losing my religion
Some og my favorite have Been mentioned as well as Marilyn Manson -eurythmics - sweet dreams, Nick cave singing stagger Lee Think IT was an old song can't remember the original artist though, Danzig singing Elvis trouble or Clapton's cover og cocaine by JJ Cole is also good
Another great reaction video. Very well done. I liked how you talked about it afterwards. you really got the point of the songs. I'm really starting to like Juliet, she's not just some random beauty, but she also has a brain and knows how to use it. Much appreciate that. Keep it up guys, you are cool.
Very good job guys. I'm sorry I didn't retain your names but you, young lady have some very good, wise and socially conscious WORDS TO SAY, your mom and dad must be very proud of you. I hope you keep your passion for humanity and indignation for the lack of it in today's society, we need more people to invoke others to humane actions by speaking out about it and by demonstrating with our own actions care and compassion for each other. Great way to strengthen your relationship with your kids, dad, and to give them a chance to grow and gain confidence and individuality. Yay, you won a new subscriber and admirer!

Crhis Isaak & HIM - wicked game
Also maybe the cover by Corey Taylor. His version is my favorite
nyxdarkness1 The stone sour cover is the one I know best indeed!
HIM version very good and differend also. And Ville Valo's vocals are great 👍

Shatterstone - Wicked Game is hands down the absolute best cover ever.
"Is this news, really?" Good for you, there's hope for the future yet.👍👍

These lyrics, his voice? A gift for God itself.I only cry.Its deep.
I really enjoyed your reaction and analysis ... Excellent ........ David Draiman's voice is epic.
next Voodoo Chile(slight return) Jimi Hendrix-Stevie Ray Vaughan. rock on
"Stone Cold Crazy" by Queen and Metallica!
That would make me so happy!
origin: This track about the inability of people to communicate emotionally, was thought by many to be a response to the Kennedy assassination as it was written during the same time and then released three months later in 1964. but the song failed to be popular "The Sound of Silence" first broke in Boston, where it became one of the top-selling singles in early November 1965; it spread to Miami and Washington, D.C. two weeks later, reaching number one in Boston and debuting on the Billboard Hot 100.
lyrics
[Verse 1]
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
[Verse 2]
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by
The flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
[Verse 3]
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
[Verse 4]
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops, fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
[Verse 5]
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said:
"The words of the prophets are
Written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence."
Juliette give me hope in youth, her analysis in each video, if not always right, are really bright. That's good parenting and open mind there, it enlights my day every time, keep it up (hope it make sense, I'm struggling with english today :') )
“No Quarter” originally by Led Zeppelin, epically covered by Tool
Animal - House of The Rising Sun(1964) vs Five Finger Death Punch - House of The Rising Sun
Or go with Bad Co.- Bad Company vs FFDP - Bad Company
Down - bury me in smoke (live at download) the lead vocalist for the band is Phil anselmo which is also the lead vocalist for pantera
It was originally titled The Sounds of Silence on the album on which it first appeared, and it didn't have percussion, it was completely folky.
But record companies have a tendency to do their own thing...
Judas Priest vs Halestorm - Dissident Aggressor (I like 'em both, s good luck)
The Allman Bros vs Frank Zappa - Whipping Post
It sounds so much better without the drums...
Since you already was into Nightwish 😇 you could do High Hopes
Original from Pink Floyd and Cover from Nightwish 😊
Land of Confusion (Genesis x Disturbed) could be good. Or Careless Whisper (George Michael x Seether)
This “x” crap is so annoying
@@Lurch685 you misspelled Lurch685
@@marekpavlicek7695 I like these choices btw!
So glad SOMEONE finally decided to do something like this. you earned a subscriber with this one.
For me the original song was a song of a desperate but still hopeful plea for people to not let the sound of silence (the focus on the self to the exclusion of others e.g. Internet has us more connected but more alone than we have ever been in history)
The cover here is a soft rage fueled, expression of disappointment that we didn't LISTEN the first time. But it's also still hopeful that we can do better.
I truly loved it! I love the whole project. And, not for the 1st time: Juliette: your analysis is soo "spot on". Hats off!
58 yr old german male, here. We translated this song in middle school in our english lessons. So this song already had come a long long way.
The way I read it: about not raising your voice, when thinking, that something is going wrong. While "loudmouth" others seem to rule the world. And their opinion seems to reflect, what the world thinks: "so this must be the truth!"
It's not, if YOU, in person, disagree! But you have to stand your ground. You have to say it!
Noone will speak it out for you. it's your own frikkin' job to the the world, how you think about it.
It's a very political song. Sounds so soft. The message is quite fundamental, I think.
2 suggestions: "Help" by the Beatles surely is epic. It was covered by Deep Purple. And they played it slow. I like their version better than the original. It seems to me that it expresses the feeling even better.
2nd one is: "the fairy feller's master stroke" by Queen. Covered by multi-instrumentalist Michael Mills. His version is so great, that people told Dr. Brian May about it. And he congratulated him on that. Michael is not only singing it: he plays every single instument in this song.
O.K.: a 3rd one: "trampled rose" by Tom Waits, performed by the highly decorated singer Alison Krauss. Her collaboration with Robert Plant is so amazing. The mastermind of this was in fact T Bone Burnett. He told them, how to do it, when they both felt clueless, about how to get things together. And it worked out fantasticly!
Greetings from the far north of germany!
(btw: you have a nother subscriber, by now.)(yes, I spelled it like this on purpose. my kinda humour)

Nevermore did an amazing version of this song in 2001.
What an awesome family you are.
I was 10 years old when the original version came out. We had the album on 8-track if you can imagine. We analyzed the lyrics in my H.S. English Literature class. The Disturbed version is so much more expressive...even theatrical. I have watched dozens of reactions. I finally had to download the recording. I enjoy the multi-generational review that you offer hear.
i would love to see you guys doing a video of "X Japan - Kurenai" they are japanese metal who are HUGE thay started in the 1980s
Even legend Gene Simmons from kiss said "if "X Japan" was an american or a english band they would have taken over the world"
The lyrics are beautifull the drummer is the piano player history sad if possible look them up in wikipedia
Let's see if they are playing Disturbed version in 50-60 yrs. from now.
I like the thoughtful reactions by all three of you. I highly recommend you check out the Pentatonix version of Sound of Silence. It's spectacular.
The original Simon and Garfunkel was a warning, This version is the pissed off that people didn't
hear the warning.
You felt it... I cry every time... I get chills... it really fits the lyrics... the passion pain and emotions
If you want to do cover I have - as usual - something for you in the metsl genre: Headless cross by Black Sabbath and Powerwolf, Primo Victoria by Sabaton and Van Canto (acapella metal).
Wrathchild America's version of Pink Floyd's "Time": best cover ever IMHO.
You are comparing Folk rock and a Rock Band. I grew up in the 60's. Found your comparison interesting. The modern take is good. It helps to see my music still has a message that is relevant today. Peace and Love
You should listen to Simon and Garfunkel at Maddison Square Gardens, from 2009. A perfect live performance !
Temple of the King, originally by Rainbow, covered by Scorpions.
Some more recommendations:
Perfect Strangers by Deep Purple covered by Jorn
Over the Hills and far away by Gary Moore covered by Nightwish
Diamonds by Rihanna covered by Any Given Day
feadin thalion Turn the Page by Seger covered by Metallica is another great one.
Disturbed actually won the best live television performance at the Emmys for that year
I like both versions. But for me, it's got to be Simon & Garfunkel. That's the version I grew up with. Brilliant song.
S&G version, bright happy, enthusiastic about the future, D's version, dark and sinister the decline of society, pessimistic about the future.
I love both versions, but disturbed nailed it as a cover, cover's should take the original and make into a distinctly different song... And Paul Simon emailed Draimen... "Really powerful performance on Conan the other day. First time I’d seen you do it live. Nice. Thanks.", if the original artist likes it you know it's good..
Another one to do, The Who and Limp Bizkit... Behind Blue Eyes
#(edit) I also second Disturbed and Genesis..... Land of confusion (but if you do, please do the official video for the genesis version, it hilarious)...
Steve H Thank you Steve. Always appreciate your comments!

Aside from the actual analysis of the songs, I was greatly pleased to listen to the vocabulary used by the kids. I now have more hope for the future, after I am gone.
I'm glad to discover that your children are quite well adjusted in these crazy times.
Alice in Chains with Gretchen Wilson did a great live cover of Barracuda by Heart...Nancy Wilson joins them as well...not sure if this fits the bill because I don't think it was recorded on an album but definitely worth checking out
It wasn't technically an Alice in Chains album. It was Layne's solo album, group was called Mad Season.
I love the idea! I follow several other reaction channels, and always wish someone would do these comparison/contrast videos... reacting to the original vs. the cover. I just feel like it helps understand and appreciate the cover a little more, if you get to hear the original along with it.
Maybe switch it up. Find a cover you've reacted to, or have already heard before, and then listen to the original.
Many of the covers that I can think of, have already been mentioned, here in the comments.
So, to try and be original, maybe check out...
