May I say, this is incredibly complicated from what it was, I thought they wanted to bring the entry level down a notch, but I, who played 5 years by now, am quite overwhelmed lol.
As a new player I get it, though a visual “map” would have been the cherry on top. Like, you put images of Faction, Trait, spell lore etc and possible things like auxiliaries in an opaque way.
Been playing 40k for a year now and I thought jumping into AoS would be easier. I was wrong. Good Lord there's so much to think about just in list building but I suppose that's part of the fun.
Can you give me a critique on this list? I have my first GT on the 17th in Nashville. 2a (1980 Points) ARMY Maggotkin of Nurgle Affliction Cyst 2000 Points Drops: 1 Spell Lore - Lore of Malignance Manifestation Lore - Primal Energy Regiments General’s Regiment The Glottkin (550 Points) • General Lord of Plagues (170 Points) • Gift of Febrile Frenzy • The Witherstave Plague Drones (360 Points) • Reinforced Pusgoyle Blightlords (500 Points) • Reinforced Putrid Blightkings (400 Points) • Reinforced Faction Terrain Feculent Gnarlmaw Thanks!
How does the size of my mustache affect army list creation in 4th edition? And... am I allowed to pull on my opponent’s mustache to make sure it’s real?
This video (war?)hammers home my feeling that army creation is too complicated in AoS 4. I don’t find it meaningfully simpler than AoS 3. There are just too many hoops to jump through.
What I wish they would do to really help new players is with their army builder app. Put in a system where when you select a unit to be in a regiment it places all the abilities into an army page that organizes all abilities by what phase they are to be used in. Then also in the description, name where they come from i.e unit name, faction ability, ect. That way you don't really need to check every single warscroll each phase to see what abilities you have avaliable to you each phase. Idk I think this would be easy to do and make it way easier to keep track of everything.
Newbie questions: 1) Does a unit Champion count as a Hero for the determination of whether a unit is a regiment or an attachment? 2) If I were to take the hero on an aggradon and a unit of 3 aggradon lancers, would that take 1 slot or two? 3) Would an ally Regiment of Renown be an attachment even though it has a hero leader?
you know what would be great ? To have video like this, but for people who play 40k 10th ed....to compare stuff, that this is like your detachment rule etc. But this video was really helpful for 40k player like me
in your example of "no double unique heroes" example of double nagash. I assumed you may have only single model with the unique trait. Can I have a Nagash and another unique hero if I want? ThanksRob!
I haven’t seen anyone show exactly where the points for each army are. I’m probably overlooking it but would love to know exactly where to find them with exact locations besides online or on GW website. Any information or directions would be appreciated for someone who last made a dwarf list back over 17 years ago. Thank you in advance.
So can I really not have multiple unique units in an army list or can I only have one of each unique unit. Considering you chose two nagash as an example I'm confused
I miss when you made an army list by looking at an army book and just doing some basic math. I am LOVING making Old World army lists in Excel at work because I make my spreadsheets look like work.
at 6:10 you mention you can only have one unique unit in you army list, did you mean you can have more than 1 unique unit but not the same warscroll ? Thanks for the never ending content!! Don't forget to rest sometimes!!
Hey thanks for the useful info ! Do you have insights on allies ? If they should disappear, please let me know so I can quit painting the sequitors I’ve recruited for my CoS army, and have a valid reason to increase gently my pile of shame 🎉
Free terrain and spell lore costs? Jesus. As if GW wasn't making enough money as it is. Making those basically mandatory to take to be even remotely competitive... As much as I appreciate more toys to play with, that's just scummy.
Why does it seem like GW are encouraging players to bring as little models to the table as possible? lists are going to end up having like 1700 points or something because you stockpile command points.
@@TheHonestWargamer Right, what I mean is players figuring out the smallest army they can realistically field to reliably get that extra comm point each round
I came from the future to tell you this video helped me win every tournament I have been in. Even non Warhammer related ones.
Can confirm, the public masturbation tourny was a hard victory but you really came out on top.
May I say, this is incredibly complicated from what it was, I thought they wanted to bring the entry level down a notch, but I, who played 5 years by now, am quite overwhelmed lol.
Entry Level is Spearhead, I guess 😂
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Ha that’s good I’ve never heard that before
And the early worm gets eaten.
Yes-yes, The thirteenth rat gets-eats the infant skin
Hoping these will be a daily thing, Rob out here doing better marketing for AoS4 than the actual company's marketing team.
Wow this Rob fellow sure knows what he's doing
LOVE YA
Great summary! Thanks Rob!

This is a great video. Super appreciate all the details being put in once place.

I’m going to share this with my local syndicate.
best part of my day was knowing this video is coming
Definitely will check this out when it drops.

You'd have to grow one first baby lips
Cannot wait for this. Rob has been well ahead of all the other creators in this space.
Great video man, perfectly explained and executed.
And here i was going "oooh that one looks cool, add it to the list"
This shit is complicated man😂
This video (war?)hammers home my feeling that army creation is too complicated in AoS 4. I don’t find it meaningfully simpler than AoS 3. There are just too many hoops to jump through.
Just go with Spearhead and you don't have to do any of this. :)
Best video I haven't watched yet ever!
Exactly what I was needing. Just finished a big 40k tourni league. AoS for Winter Sport.
Short. Sweet. Easy to understand. Thank you for your hard work sir!

the only problem i get now with free manifestation is that list are often reach 1900pts but almost no unit cost 100pts
This video will change AoS, and probably the future of war gaming as a whole, in an incredibly positive way.
Great videos, as always. I look forward to more as the new edition approaches.
I wonder were White dwarf 500 model will be in what army or univers regiment of renoun... need fainaly use it for samethink
Best video yet fosho. I ll confirm when I ll actually get to watch it
Hey Rob, you rock homie. Peace.
Thanks!!!
SOUP! Can’t wait to see how to build a new age of sigmar army.
Can't wait to see what gems and knowledge this holds
babe
Super useful. Thanks Rob
Looking forward to this. Will be good to think about army list building

What an amzing video! So clear, thanks Rob!
This video has been brought to you by the vitamin D
Let's go! Excited to start AoS with 4th edition!
You have taught me more than the random Indian man on UA-cam. INCREDIBLE
thank you so much

Looking out at the pouring rain, contemplating this video
I do I do declare this is good stuff
I declare

Thos helped greatly Thank you. I was a bot overwhelmed for a bit lol
My Kharadron Overlords are skipping a lot of those steps LOL!!
Thank you for this! I'm a starting player and this is very helpfull!
If only faction terrain was actualy free and GW would allow flgs to order them.
🎉 the video we've all been waiting for
How similar is it to 40k rule wise. Thinking of switching tbh
So looking forward to this
10/10 would wait for premiere again
Thanks
So your general (and their regiment...) is the slottiest in your army?
You got it
Where’s the Soulblight video?
8:00 Where are these core rules coming from? Is it a leak? I swear some of these haven’t been released yet. Asking for a friend 🙃
I guess Stormcast and Nighthaunt will get faction terrain soon
Great video, thank you
Thanks I’m a 40k old time player and you jump less scary.
Bring it on rob! Cannae wait!
You should have lite mellow music playing while you talk. It would improve the experience
Interesting. So it seems that the Regiments of Renown are the allies.
Stoked for this one!
Nice now we only need more info for Dok so i know what heros can bring what.

Hay i have a question... how ya doing man
The more you know!
WoloWOAH Rob, great video!
Man, this presenter is so handsome and very smart.
Awesome human! 😊
Appreciate you
Juggz are good but is building an army better? Find out at 6pm
Great video that streamlines the thought process! Can't wait for indexes.
So have Regiments of renown replaced allies? I suppose for balance sake that is a good change.
Yes they have
Free terrain and spell lore costs? Jesus. As if GW wasn't making enough money as it is. Making those basically mandatory to take to be even remotely competitive... As much as I appreciate more toys to play with, that's just scummy.
True. And it's lame. What if I don't want to use faction terrain for my seraphon? It's huge, boring, and I want my lizardman to be a nomad wield tribe
This is why the internet was invented
LET'S FLIPPIN' GOOOOOOOOOOO!
I came here for soup recipies
Here could be your comment!
Why stop at double Nagash? Think bigger, Rob!
Bit early to drop this innit
Not for me
Leeeeaaaaks!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Soup

Hells yes!!!

You can only gain one additional

Wololo
Where is my Kruelboyz video...😢
I’m a simple man…just give me more Warhammer the Old World.
I wish to return from the past and leave another like on this comment now I have seen it. Come on Dr Symes take me back to the future
More leaks than a post-menopausal woman enjoying a Take That concert 10/10
Doesn't actually point at a big picture of regiments in the video, thumbnail is total clickbait
