So if you step through the scale. Am...You can use the minor pent(Dorianish), Bm....You can use the Bm Pent. Only note you can't really use is the F# being the diminished? But I am guessing there is a pent version of the diminished we can use?
Hey there! Thats an excellent question. Here's how I think about it: The root note F# is not in the G major pentatonic scale, but it is in the Dmajor/ B minor pentatonic. However, The b5 is not in the Bm pentatonic scale either so, it might work to try an arpeggio out with it. Since the scale is symmetrical (all of the tones in the chord are a minor 3rd apart) You can just play a minor 3rd away from any note in that chord. If that doesnt make sense, fret not (unless you're playing guitar rn lol) I plan on making a video on this topic in the very near future.
