- In this crystal clear @QJamTracks guitar tutorial you will learn all about superimposing minor pentatonic scales over major, minor, diminished and altered chords. Everything is explained with top notch graphics and tablature on screen. You will also learn to use this technique to create modal improvisations with a simple pentatonic scale on your guitar. Think of the dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian and Locrian mode. This technique of layering minor pentatonic scales of different keys over different chords is used in modern Jazz, but is also a great asset for rock guitar players and suitable for other styles of guitar soloing. I show you why and when to use a certain scale to get a certain effect. Never a boring solo again. Even the altered chords are covered in this video. So this is the ultimate guide for superimposing pentatonic scales, explained crystal clear with super clear graphics and examples with tablature.

Your channel is SEVERELY underrated, I've learned a lot from your videos the past couple of hours.
I agree
I agree as well. Your channel is amazing as well as your way of creating melodic lines.
Rob..this should be required watching for anyone starting out trying to learn to improvise. This indeed was crystal clear!!!
Thanks man!!
The Lydian one has opened up our 3rd eye!
Been playing for about 30 years and have learned all these things in and out over that time, and this is one of the best most well articulated and demo’d refreshers of it I’ve ever seen. Awesome, thanks
Great lesson. Well organised and presented clearly. I learnt a lot.
Awesomely Powerful!
No one comes close to you when it comes to your teaching. What an eye opener every lesson is.
Thank you Ray
That's the simplest way i think I've ever heard of showing what modes are in practice 👍👍👍

Brilliant, thank you.

This is Excellent !
Very worthwhile to go through this slowly, stop the video and look at what is happening to see how the different modes are created by adding a pentatonic to an existing chord. GREAT STUFF!
Definitely opened some doors here! Thanks!
Ive been curious about superimposing for a long time. Thank you.
It's very clear. and easy to use.

Rob, that was a fantastic lesson, thanks very much! Along with this and your modes lessons you've given me plenty to practice on piano! I took a screenshot at the end where you give a summary so I remember what to practice :)
You create amazing content! Love your style!
I have learned more to help my improvisation from your videos than any other channel out there. Your approach really resonates with my way of thinking which has always been to know my major and pentatonic scales cold then apply slight changes to those scales to achieve modes, arpeggios and such. Thanks.
Very comprehensive!
Rare gem of a lesson
Very awesome lesson with detail explanation
Thanks for uploading this wonderful lesson🤘
Very well presented and useful stuff. Your playing and sound are excellent as well. Thanks so much for your help in lifting the fog.

Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us. I really like the way you've explained this.
Very high quality video. Thanks
Omg this is the best guitar video on the internet. There’s someone on the internet who did this for piano with the pentatonic grip and I was like “where is someone doing this for guitar?”
Hi Tom. Thanks man!

This is great! I love using pentatonics for improvising and I just finished a method that involves pairs of pentatonics.
Rob,
I've learned so much from this one lesson.
I have been wanting to improvise more in jazz and swing and this really took me to another level in my playing.
i have to say, honestly, since i discovered your channel i am absolutely loving your content, i like this 'no fluff' approach. i think i've learned more in a couple of months than i have in the last 17 years combined! your examples are amazingly precise, and your voice is also strangely soothing :D
Your content is pure gold man. Thanks a hundred times.
Excellent video. This has been incredibly helpful. The error in the Mixolydian section got a bit confusing but made sense once I got around that.
Number ONE video on guitar I have ever seen. You just blew my mind. Wish I was taught this as a teenager.
I am really grateful for this video that not only explain but with application examples of minor pentatonic. I really surprises me that one can even get the modal sounds by applying different degree of the minor pentatonic. Truly a gem. I will keep coming back to this same video to fully digest the content. I have been looking for something like this that shows a way on how to bring up the mode in one's solo. Thank you so much for making this video!
That is great information. You just added a new subscriber. Thanks!
Thank you. You just open My play to a great extents of posibilities. Amazing class. Súper chingon.

pure Gold lessons!
Thank you very much! Excelent!
Absolutely fantastic lesson. I have been drawing charts , writing down scale degrees and staring at the neck for literally years trying to understand this exact concept. Thank you!!!
Awesome lesson. Thanks Rob!!
Thanks Dan!
studying Bergonzi's book on the topic for a few months, detailing my reading skills, this video's value cannot be overstated-thank you, getting through your catalog
This is just what I needed. Understanding the system with all its relations. Not just showing one random "super cool idea". Thank you for teaching with concept. Now I am not just able to work towards creating what I want, also I understand the music I am listening to a bit more.
Another great video, I was just working on this last night lol I find it helpful to think of playing mixolydian in pentatonic as b7 major relative to the root chord as it is enharmonic to the 5th minor and easier to remember as b7 is the main flavor of mixolydian and this way you can keep major with major in terms of memorizing. Thanks again!
Fantastic lesson sir, you explained a complex part of musical theory in a very simple way. Thank you for your work!
I'm shocked to see that you have only 25k subs. with this quality of videos you deserve 2 million. Keep going man !
Keep them coming, please! This tied so many things together for me.
