Thanks for the insights on oil in diesel cars turning black quickly. I did not know that and had that exact thought when my car was first serviced where I almost questioned if the oil had been changed 🤣!
Lol its amazing how many drivers don't think oil needs changing or topped up I remember a friend of the wife's asking me to check her cars oil level she told me she didn't check it it had none on the dipstick how it hadn't seized I don't know I put a litre in and told her to get a 2.5 pack and get a garage to service it.😅
Im a trader in Northern Ireland and that would be right up my street with them miles lol. This needs the full journey documented, like an hour long episode lol.
Hello Kev/Claire. It's great to see you two together in a Video. Wow Kev, I haven't heard the word "Jetta" in Years. With the mileage and One Owner, and when you do your Magic I feel it's worth saving. There might not be a lot of money to be made but life's not all about money. I enjoyed the Video, Kev. It was different from the normal. Great job guys. 🙏👏👏👏🇮🇪
Cracking find you got to get the old girl back into life as it will make a cracking daily driver for someone and with the added benefit of one of the best mpg's on the road !
Hope everyones having a good week 👍Any traders watching this, id be interested to see what you think this thing is worth to the right person 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪Appreciate everything as always 👍👍👍
Sold an 07/57 1.4 Polo petrol on 26k miles, also1 owner, for 4950 - could have sold it 10 times over. Completely unmarked though & no rust or similar - the daughter had run it up periodically.
Hi kev and Claire, love how you say it's old,it's new compared to my 02 plate octavia 😂i think definitely please do a part 2 on this and what you intend to do with it but depending on what you paid for it either auction it off or trade it on and make a small profit but look forward to seeing what you decide, have a good day guy's 🙂👍
Interesting video and something a little different for you and us. It’s worth saving and you know full well your head says get it running ok tidied up and sell on but we know your heart will be saying I need to give this the full VP treatment and make it something that would go on the forecourt. Certainly worth saving though , with that mileage and history it still has plenty of life in. It amazes me how many cars are still out there sitting in garages forgotten and unloved.
Hi fella it's a German car definitely should be sorted kev cannot wait for the vw jetta new lease of life cheers kev see you on next video cheers jerry g 👍
For the miles it has done it would be good for you to get it back on the road.If you can sort out the body work at a reasonable price and a bullet proof engine as well surely you would be able to find it a new home.Good luck with it.
Hi Kev & Claire, thanks for cheering me up tonight 😂😂😂 I would like to see you polish the VW up Kev, would like to see it back on the road I recon it wouldn’t take much a good service and a dent puller once done I think it should bring £1500 - £2000 and make a good work horse for someone. Hope you got your cheese burger and your ice cream Kev I am sure Claire will treat you 🎉 thanks again for a great video keep smiling Kev & Claire. Tom
Hi kev you’re talking about the cam belt and the new principal of changing every140000 vw are try to say is the same principle that auto gearbox fluid does not need changing it does same as the cam belts change the cam belt every 50.000 mile
£2995-3500 car on the forecourt all day long, you'd be mental to scrap it, a lot of people are looking to go back to older diesels now as they are a lot less hassle than newer ones, especially with that mileage
Difficult one to call, would somebody pay decent money for an older less popular car like this? Definitely deserves to be saved without going to town on it.
Too nice to be scrapped imo! If it's not too rotten underneath, seeing if pdr could get the major dent out and a new set of tyres it might just make a car for someone
Wait a minute you can't go around doing untouched garage finds that's the job of The Late Break Show. You wouldn't want him selling cars next to your pitch.
Treating snow or ice covered roads with salt-water certainty plays hovoc with the undercarriages of vehicles..The composition of belts has altered over the past few years same deal with cam belts where still used.
what a wonderful old thing, retail depending on how well you can push that dent out i would put at £2000 maybe 2500 given the ownership and mileage and what work you do to it. hopefully its not rotten. its sounds pretty good tbf Maybe get it sorted if viable and do a raffal type thing Actually its not a bad 2nd car, cheapish insurance and lowish tax with good fuel mileage
Hmmmm, I hope its not rotten underneath too, sure has a long future if it isn't, with some super mpg figures....I actually think it's quite a good looking car, nice one Charles 👍👍👍
Such a lovely spot from where you bought it,definitely worth saving, would one of those dent guys be able to do something with the quarter panel even to make a little better looking? Luv to see what you can do with it 💯
I think a pair of lower outer cills both sides sort the couple dents, and it's probably one of the lower mileage examples out there. Especially with that service history. Probably doesn't command great money though, but a good project for the channel no less.
Its all stuff you'd of expected to go really, them old vw engines was from a good era so if you put it right itll see you well for years, the gear linkages on them cars are crappy rubber you can replace them with alloy bushes and the dent will pull out easily
Good little vid. Worth a sub. Good car to be rescued for sure. Just a query- can you actually drive a car on the UK roads without a current MOT ? Thought you had to go straight to the MOT station. If not, you just documented doing so with knackered tyres for all to see ! Oops…. Will keep an eye for the next instalment, should be worth a watch
Glad you liked the vid, the Jetta was booked in for its MOT on that day but we had to cancel it for a reason that doesn't need to be aired (nothing to do with the Jetta) As for the tyres.....they are all above MOT standard.....just not above my retail standard if you know what I mean.....pretty sure that car will fly through an MOT as is.....it just needs work to preserve it really 👍👍👍👍
I think that will make a good car to someone. That rear quarter dent would it not come out without paint? That 1.9 pd engine is great. In 2016 i bought an 06 passat with that engine in and was ex taxi but owner driver. The clutch went and he said to me scrap it. It was the pedal at fault and i repaired it. He didnt want it. So i used it for a year and sold it on but took it over 400k original engine and gearbox. Ill keep watching see what you do with it
l would get the car off the road and go and purchase a Brian James sports trailer to put that new car off your wife's vest friends husband you did not think about DVLA what happens if you get pulled by DVLA or the police then your car business and your driving licence would get taken off you and you would get points out on your licence
You would have people of differing ages who don't have the money to buy a car at the average price today, if it was me I would tidy up the interior, repair the seat so it doesn't get worse, replace the tyres and make it roadworthy and flip it, if it doesn't owe you much repair the dents and paint the repair if you want.
I know.....im sure alot of people might have been......but thought some people might like the vid anyway 🤪🤪🤪🤪now I want to go and find some proper barn finds 🤪🤪🤪🤪Jonny on The Late Brake Show is a lucky boy 👍👍👍
Remove the foam inserts in the front wings, it was a stupid sound proofing idea by VW still used now they always rot front wings/sills. The MK5/6 Golf/Jetta platforms always suffered the worst
Hi there....nowthen about this car if you my opinion I think you might be in for quite an expensive recommissioning Get it checked out underneath first before you start bugging about with it I'd hate to see you lose your shirt over this one. So go easy....cheers Phil from Newark
If I’d bought that car for a few hundred…..I’d mot it tax it and use it as a spare smoker, you could leave it anywhere and not worry about it as it would owe you next to nothing and still be going strong in another 300,000 miles ! It’ll still be running around at 50/60 mpg long after that evoque has gone to the scrapyard !
Hey Terry, really appreciate the thought, we are ok...just had a few things go on....normal life stuff ya know...had a bit of a break......we will be back soon though 👍👍👍👊👊👊Nice one Terry 👍👍👍👍
Wish i could find someone that is giving a car away i need it for my son he is my carer am 68 year old pensioner he lives about two hours away from me but still comes by buses to help me all the time❤

Great video Kev, this looks quite the find. I for one would love to see its journey back to the road documented. I know you'll do it proud.
Thanks Daz, glad you enjoyed that one, I never expected so many people to want to see it turned around 👍👍👍👍I'll get on it.....when I can 🤪🤦♂️👍👍
Cracking find you got to get the old girl back into life as it will make a cracking daily driver for someone and with the added benefit of one of the best mpg's on the road !
Evening Kev and Claire. Definitely a journey if possible, cars like this one deserve a second life. Itll be a great runaround for somebody 😊.
Hope everyones having a good week 👍Any traders watching this, id be interested to see what you think this thing is worth to the right person 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪Appreciate everything as always 👍👍👍

I got the same model what a nice drive bought it second hand got for 10 years now trouble free service every 10th kms

Definitely like to see it back on the road
Decision made I think 👍👍👍👍
Can't wait to see how it turns out & how much it costs to do it. Great find.
Great stuff, lovin every single upload 👍
Nice one Stevie, hope your doing well 👍👍
I like your channel is the best in the world 🌎🌎🌎🌎
Hi fella it's a German car definitely should be sorted kev cannot wait for the vw jetta new lease of life cheers kev see you on next video cheers jerry g 👍
Nice one Jerry, appreciate the comment 👍👍👍👍
Great video Kev. Would love to see what you do with the old beast.
No probs Andrew....didnt expect so many people to want to see what happens with it 👍👍👍
Brilliant loved watching it.
Appreciate that Ian 👍👍👍
Yes sort it out for the benefit do the previous owners, the car and a future owner as long as the underside is solid.
Sort out what it needs for an MOT, give it a good clean. Trade it out, or repair the quarter panel, leave the door and keep it as a courtesy car.
Hmmm, courtesy car......interesting thought.......gonna check it out underneath first for sure and go from there 👍👍👍
Clean it, service it, make a good courtesy car.
Will there be any more vids on the Vw Jetta? Will the rear quarter pop out?? Kev do your stuff.
You make my day.
Definitely deserves to be saved
Nice one Geoff, totally agree 👍👍👍
For the miles it has done it would be good for you to get it back on the road.If you can sort out the body work at a reasonable price and a bullet proof engine as well surely you would be able to find it a new home.Good luck with it.
My thoughts exactly David, this will make someone a damn good car....we need to sort it 👍👍👍👍

Be a shame to scrap it Kev, far too nice for its age. Look forward to part 2 👍
Ha!! The ArtfulCodger 🤪🤪🤪Im shocked so many people want to see this ole girls story 😃😃😃

Hmmm, you seem to be thinking exactly like me🤪🤪🤪deffo deserves to be saved your right, so much life left in the car 👍👍👍👍
As long as Mr Ferrous Oxide isn't too evident in the chassis, worthy of the minor restoration required.
Classic Jetta - would love an update 😊 cheers Sue

Ha!!! What a huge compliment that is David........I thought about TLBS when I was editing it 🤪🤪🤪
Treating snow or ice covered roads with salt-water certainty plays hovoc with the undercarriages of vehicles..The composition of belts has altered over the past few years same deal with cam belts where still used.
Definitely needs saving that old 1.9 diesel has hardly been run in with that mileage
what a wonderful old thing, retail depending on how well you can push that dent out i would put at £2000 maybe 2500 given the ownership and mileage and what work you do to it. hopefully its not rotten. its sounds pretty good tbf

Part 2 please. Would be good to see dents pulled out and car tidied.
Im surprised so many people want to see a Part 2 😃😃😃Interesting......Nice one Kevin 👍👍👍
I get it mot see what up with
Do the body work
Use it as the run round
Show us what you can do Kev!
Ohhhh mo the pressure 🤪🤪🤪🤪

Cheers for reply. I am looking forward to watching your previous videos when I am off this weekend. Keep up the good work.
Camshaft lobes can round off too, happened on my pd130 Sharan.
Blimey had that done like 300,000 miles?? 😳😳😳
Camshaft lobes are like chocolate on some had mine go at 100k but after work run it up to 160k
It is a battery jacket to keep the battery from freezing
Ha! Nice, always good to be right 👍👍👍Nice one Steve 👍👍
I just subscribed to to your channel❤
I think that will make a good car to someone. That rear quarter dent would it not come out without paint? That 1.9 pd engine is great. Good pdr guy on that rear quarter might be possible.
I have got one of them......he's up for the challenge too 👍👍👍
That jetta will cause ya less problems than ya range rover and will come bk round nicely with use
Still not got a mot. I looked at the history, some body damage was listed as early as 2012 to the side and bumper, pity it’s got damage and corrosion.
I would have bought some hand wipes to at least wipe the mould off the steering wheel and gearknob
You should of purchased a Brian James sports trailer to pick up that car up off your wife's vest friends husband
l would get the car off the road and go and purchase a Brian James sports trailer to put that new car off your wife's vest friends husband you did not think about DVLA what happens if you get pulled by DVLA or the police then your car business and your driving licence would get taken off you and you would get points out on your licence

Fantastic video, can I, as was your dad, herman munster 😂 I can just imagine your wife google in Herman's munsters son.
A bit of paintless dent removal and jobs a goodun
conservative recommission if it's not rotten underneath but without the shorts please as my eyes couldn't take it 😜
Ha!!!! I didn't realise them shorts were so tight......might need to invest in some new ones 🤪🤪🤪🤪....I'll try and remember the "conservative" part 😩😩😩
I was expecting a old car 😂😂😂
I know.....im sure alot of people might have been......but thought some people might like the vid anyway 🤪🤪🤪🤪now I want to go and find some proper barn finds 🤪🤪🤪🤪Jonny on The Late Brake Show is a lucky boy 👍👍👍
Hasn’t been started in years, 2 to be precise 😅
Remove the foam inserts in the front wings, it was a stupid sound proofing idea by VW still used now they always rot front wings/sills.

Hi there....nowthen about this car if you my opinion I think you might be in for quite an expensive recommissioning Get it checked out underneath first before you start bugging about with it I'd hate to see you lose your shirt over this one. So go easy....cheers Phil from Newark
Appreciate them words of wisdom Phil, ill check it underneath first and go from there 👍👍👍
Thanks for the reply, and good luck with the car...cheers Phil
it needs to be given a second chance with that history and mileage
Got the same car trouble free motoring for 10 years
a good dent man will sort those dents out
Courtesy car mate
1.9 or 2.0 tdi 115 or 130 bhp.?😊
If I’d bought that car for a few hundred…..I’d mot it tax it and use it as a spare smoker, you could leave it anywhere and not worry about it as it would owe you next to nothing and still be going strong in another 300,000 miles !

Mate what’s happened to the channel? No vids in a month now? Hope all is ok with you and Claire
Hey Terry, really appreciate the thought, we are ok...just had a few things go on....normal life stuff ya know...had a bit of a break......we will be back soon though 👍👍👍👊👊👊Nice one Terry 👍👍👍👍
I was expecting a 60s or 70s classic, not some modern poxy VW.
Get back on the road.
Will do David 👍👍👍
Get in the boot and push the dent out with yr feet lol
Wish i could find someone that is giving a car away i need it for my son he is my carer am 68 year old pensioner he lives about two hours away from me but still comes by buses to help me all the time❤
VAG doesn't mean Volkswagen Audi Group fella... As for the car I hope they paid you to take it away, how much can that thing be worth, 3g's?
Cambelt should be 60.000 miles or 5yrs
Got the same car trouble free motoring for 10 years
