I assume this is the South somewhere, but it doesn't look that different from Vermont, actually. Although here you would probably see more hills beyond the treeline. It's not as obviously flat as like North Dakota, i wouldn't feel out of place here. Although i might miss the fall and winter.
It's the middle of January here now, it was -10° yesterday morning, this video and the sounds are making me pine for summertime.

Its amazing how these old dozers are still going. I have a 1945 cat d4 2T. I have electric starter. And the pony. Electric starter is nice when ya stall her out by accident. Ponys nice when its cold out. Only problem is parts are going obsolete for these machines.

Excellent video Wiley :) also those Catpilleer Dozer are amazing think this be well taken care of too too and that Round muffler with rain cap flapper I remember it my late Uncle Bill JR had on his 1950 Cockshutt 40 Gas farm tractor on 230 Cubic Cm 6 cylinder motor Buda ! Then 1984 rust out he put International tractor Round without flapper too and my late Dad 1968 McCormick International 105C combine gas motor 4 cylinder 202 Cubic Inches had same small one with rain flapper too ! Smaller Exhaust Muffler nickname Piglet !

Sorry you lost your tools. Try and remember to keep tools off the tracks if you can. Know that is not so easy sometimes.
Old cat runs. Engine sounds fairly good but hard to tell. Just needs some engine maintenance I think and some overall TLC. Cylinders might be leaking.

Laziness caused me to lose the tools. I stoped to get them off tracks and machine rolled forward so i made the decision to get them off the ground when i got to level ground
I did forget about the bucket i took of the back

I'm thinkin' that the start/run lever is a compression release. When in the start position, it allows the engine to crank freely without firing to buildup some heat. Tracks and bushings look pretty good but it don't sound like she's firing on all six cylinders. Serial number is on that aluminum tag on the engine block: it might be blotted out if the tractor was sandblasted and repainted sometime in it's life. As another commentator had already mentioned, another manufacturers plate is probably hidden under the winch. That tractor looks like an ol' "B" series from the early 60's.

As a boy i loved trucks and tractors and construction equipment like any boy did. When i was a teenager i thought 4x4 lifted trucks were the coolest. In my 20s i was all about fast cars and racing. But from 30 onwards i have reverted back to tractors and trucks more and more. A fast car isn't actually useful, and the engineering just isn't as impressive as these things that can work so hard and do it every day for many years. A Ferrari doesn't have anything on a John Deere, even in price.
Maybe it was because after my grandfather died i got all his railroad books and got hooked on that for a while, and that got me interested in the working aspect of machinery instead of just toys.

You may not find the serial number plate. It is located at the back of the tractor below the fuel tank on the left side. I am sure the winch is covering it up. Thank you for another nice video.
