The auto racks in a sea of green, I'm already looking forward to the same in fall colors. Those Canadians around 17:45 sounded like my old neighbors 1960s Bonneville.
@@kilroy_was_here1 GP7 but still odd to see, especially with no patch. Turns out it was used as an unpowered remote control platform that would couple onto a non-RCL loco so crews can control it with the belt remote.
0:49 a 7-unit lash-up with a slug set and a high hood geep! 2:29 WOW! an ATSF GP7u without any BNSF patches! I hope that unit goes to a museum, along with the five 4-axle GEs behind it 3:50 I'm both surprised and not surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if Berkshire Hathaway ends up owning JB Hunt 9:01 nice to see a Loram GREX loco in a regular NS mixed freight. I believe it's a modified GP38-2 9:25 those three are quite unusual boxcars. two are GATX blue (for LRS) and the middle one is a GATX red for WRWK 10:45 I saw a load of trailer frames without wheels on an intermodal a few weeks ago 11:43 wow! the NS interstate heritage unit in BNSF territory. 15:02 not a single BNSF loco on that BNSF train's lash-up! 18:58 a race against a heritage unit leader! 21:19 that's an unusual inspection vehicle! Never seen that one before 12:45 6011 again 25:25 trying to take the gate as a souvenir?!
You Virtual Railfan guys need to get a cam at Red Oak or Shenandoah, Iowa. The line between the two sees little traffic (2-3 trains a week at Shenandoah, but the junction at Red Oak also has a mainline), but the motive power is always Geeps, unless it's a wind blade train. It would be good for these Grab Bag Videos.
Wondering what the weight of all those locos together would compare to a train of loaded coal slabs. Would pulling 25 other engines be equivalent to say a 100+ car freight?
Now the platform edge wide yellow lines make sense. Over gauge width flat plates being run horizontally. We don't want passengers to loose there heads?
I really hope the bnsf b408s are not heading for scrap we have one here in Washington State that runs from evertte south to Vancouver we had it here in Wenatchee WA for a week to run the spud local.
In the old days you would have a brown bag where you could not see what is inside and you either bought one for a certain price or you won one through a lottery. You would not know what is inside until you opened it. It could be a bunch of good stuff or a bunch of not so good stuff. The premise of this is to show you things that an average rail fan does not see every day or some favorite stuff that most rail fans love. It’s just a collection of food stuff caught on their daily cameras.
Can someone post a link to an article on how multi engine trains with various engine types can sync their throttles and brakes from the lead unit? I can’t grasp the concept of how this all works...
CF7. It’s an in-house conversion Santa Fe did in the 70’s at their Claiborne TX shops (hence the ‘C’) to update and rebuild their old F7 fleet. So in a roundabout way, BNSF still operates (?!?) an F unit. Or it was a museum price headed somewhere.
@@ultrasmash4864 you mean GP7u. CF7's has a totally different look to them and the BNSF does not have any CF7's on the roster. I looked up that loco (2154) and it is a GP7u.
That's actually a GP7u, not a CF7. It serves as a Remote Control Platform (RCP), and until recently was stored in Galesburg, IL. Why BNSF has allowed it to continue carrying its ATSF number is beyond me.
Nope. Slug in a Cow-Calf unit. Mostly for yard work unless it is a road slug. Slug- No engine, just traction motors and ballast. Takes juice (current) from Cow for low speed pulling power. 6210 is now an SD-33ECO formerly an SD-40. Calf was originally SD-40-2.

A lot of interesting views here. My favorites are the bear and coyote (?) at Revelstoke.
Awesome! Thanks for the trimmings.
So a lot of meets, it is good to see more rail traffic as our economy reopens.
Love those videos where you caught the wild animals going over the railroad tracks hope you can have more soon so bye-bye
Lol I think the Interstate heritage got confused with all that orange on it!
2:48 That is the first PURE yellow-bonnet I have ever seen in my life.
They are called blue bonnets
@@SeaboardStudios Yellow bonnet is correct.
BNSFkid7777 it can go anyway around
That's a freightbonnet lol.

I really enjoy these grab bags 👍
22:57 what happened to 83 and 169? both have some damage to the front end and I'm curious as to why
Amazing!!! Beautiful video! Greetings from Spain 🚂👍🔝📽️🙋♂️

Takes me an hour for the video with rewinds, then another hour reading the comments. Thanks to all.

4:13 Was this lone Swift loaded first or absolutely last?
Did some other B. J. Hunt load not make the cutoff time?

22:10 let's go!!! Wisconsin strong
Virtual railfan should consider putting a camera in Wisconsin dells
I think Wisconsin is cool
Absolutely!
The river, four seasons, and trains.
The Wisconsin and Southern Lead was a surprise. Dells would be nice but having the yard in Portage may be a little more interesting to watch.
@@thomasboese3793 The river brings up a good point. Hmmm, may need to message the Visitor Bureau.
Lots to like from this grab bag, awesome catches of the bear and coyote in Revelstoke
6:30 I Don’t understand this bag
Let me guess, Is The Acela Express operating again after COVID-19?

I believe so. However, passengers may need masks, just to be safe.
The Vintage Lover It’s because the Acela Express had a meet up
Can someone post a link to an article on how multi engine trains with various engine types can sync their throttles and brakes from the lead unit? I can’t grasp the concept of how this all works...
Search TRAINS magazine. Back in the 70s, they had a great article on the subject.
What kind of engine was NS 892, a yard slug?
21:19 What was that?
AndreiTupolev Wrong it’s not rebuilt from a SD40-2 I think it just goes when CSX Has LORAM or there replacing there rails
1:45 Is that a helm leasing GP-38-2?
25:22 For once, wasn't the driver's fault.
What’s the most amazing is that somebody bothered to remove the arm from the road.
I think it's the same bear every time. He just lives nearby and forages in the neighborhood across the tracks.
Best place to see action at Quincy is in the grab bag.
CSX rig at 21:21 looks like the Urban Assault Vehicle from Stripes.
J B Hunt thru La Plata only needed one engine? Empties? And does anyone know why certain windows in two Ashland buildings are always blurred out?
If there was a 24/7/365 camera pointed at your home would you "not" want the windows blurred out?
@2:30 are those heading for scrap?
It could be a power move, on the other hand, BNSF tends to use many units on most trains.
No most likely just using some old power like BNSF does
The last three units had capped exhausts.
Can someone tell me what these locomotives are from NS please
What’s that loco at 2:50 ?
SP

Jonathan Baker oh ok that makes a little bit more sense. The abnormal EMD sloped cab sides threw me off. Thanks
Love it 😍
Try getting footage from the RI camera at night. They are running freight at night on the Northeast Corridor
Yep, Providence & Worcester
8:43 lol it’s a giant shake weight.
Shake it the wrong way and "you" light-up sunshine bright...
What is on the flat car at 8:45??
DODX car for the shipment of radioactive material. Empty here, as there is no rider caboose.
19:00 Hey! There's the heritage unit racing along with the other NS Train!
Anyone named the spider at Horseshoe Curve yet?
What was that CF7 doing in there?!? BNSF still has one/some???
I think it was either being reactivated or transferred to another storage area. Same might be said for the B40-8s, including the triple 5.

BNSF1995
Yup
BNSF1995 ok wild thanks
I'm still waiting for when will some railroad have a train full of Amazon-branded containers or trailers only.
Pulled by Amazon power.
1:01 is that a B unit?
I believe that's a slug for the 62xx series ECO engine

True to form about the truck driver in La Grange! It's either there or Ashland.
In all honesty he wouldnt have known unless he looked in his mirror as the gate made contact there was nothing they could have done to prevent this
What was that GREX loco?
nice NS railcars on the Chattanooga cam
I GOTTA BE LOOKING FOR THAT TRAIN WITH THE RARE ENGINES
Awesome content thanks 👍
amazing video
I got to see that silver star with 3 engines.
Fantastic Video

Does anyone know the fate of these B40-8 standard cabs? UNPATCHED YELLOWBONNET IN 2020!!!
Nice 👌
Awesome EMD lash up at Quincy 1:30

8:42 saw one of those a few years ago on a csx train
Any idea what it is? I never seen one of them before.

DODX car for radioactive shipments.
This one must be empty, as loaded DODX shipments tend to have a rider caboose.
14:47 lfg a high hood!
Mmm 🤔 interesting one had a neon battery 🔋
Ns 1074 oh jeez I love her so much
Nice SF former the 70s
14:45 High Hoods Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Epic.
4th or 6th but epic grab bag too bad the 28 locomotive power move wasn't included
It was in another video.
It had it's own Grab Bag Video!
Danny Edelman The 28 has it’s own video put out today.
Too bad the CP Rail pulling the K+S potash cars at Revelstoke didn't make the cut.

If only the trailer was marked for "Knight", it would have been better...

the train series is very beautiful to see, I really like it, my best friend stopped by my channel .. I hope so. I'm from Indonesia
