    We did almost exactly what you suggested and purchased an XLE Plus 8 passenger FWD in Wind Chill Pearl with the Chateau interior. Dealer added all weather mats and front window tinting. Listed for $43K and we got it for below sticker (before tax, title, tag, and dealer fees). Totally agree the $10-$15K premium for the limited or platinum just didn't make sense, plus the longer wait and markup for those trim levels just add to the cost. We have almost 5,000 miles on the van and it's very comfortable, smooth, quiet (except under heavy acceleration) and consistently delivers between 37 and 40 MPG. This is our third Sienna (2002, 2011, 2022) and the best we've seen. Very satisfied!

    We are retired and live in Phoenix. There is no way vinyl seats are acceptable. We usually get leather but as we select our 2023 vehicle we will go with LE. Cloth works for $10k less. Our priorities are safety, reliability, comfort for traveling between LA and Key West. Front wheel drive is right for us.

    Considering the average cost of a new vehicle has climbed to $47K, that sounds like a really sensible choice, especially for a well optioned Hybrid powered mini-van. Great advice Kirk. Have safe travels and tell Mickey 🐭 I said hi.

      Back in the day my 2005 Sienna was purchased as family vehicle while I was still driving the 1985 Toyota Supra. 17 years later all 4 kids have grown up and drive their own cars but still keep this spacious Sienna for everyday use as well as family/relatives/friends road trips. It can accommodate up to 8 people plus room for luggage & camping gears. Best of all, my Sienna is still running flawlessly at 315K miles (1/2 million km.) without replacing anything major. I sent my American brand 1996 Mercury Villager to junk yard at 170k miles in 2006 because it needs a new transmission at every 80K miles plus tons of other issues that is annoying and budget breaking. I’m Toyota fan for life now 😄

    This is a good vid Kirk. Many of us love to play around with vehicle configurators even if we have no intention of buying the car; I find it fun to kill time.
    Toyota did a good job packaging the Sienna, as you can get many of the nice features without having to go up to a Limited or even XSE. For me, the LE with the Plus option would be perfect since I can get a moonroof without having to go with a leather interior, and you get the Homelink with it too (I have a garage, I love integrated door openers). But yeah, the XLE without the Plus package isn't that much more and still gives you a lot of value. I personally like the Carnival, but a comparable LX or EX trim wouldn't give me the options I want that the Sienna LE or XLE optioned out; same would go for an Odyssey as well even though I dislike it.

  • @toronado455
    @toronado455 2 роки тому +2

    Crazy options dependencies on the Sienna XLE right now. If you want an XLE with all wheel drive, the only way to get the spare tire (which used to be a $75 stand alone option) is to add the $4,330 plus package with all the options bringing total MSRP to $48,190 which is insane for an XLE. If you go with the front wheel drive XLE you can option in the spare by itself for $75 and be at a much more reasonable $41,935. (I added the all-weather floor mats to both builds).

      Kia carnival??? No all wheel drive, no hybrid. Toyota wins all day and the resale value will be double what the Kia gets long term. My friend has a Kia and it’s chintzy

      I have one and I totally agree with you...sooooo ugly. I despise the grill. But I sit inside of it and don't have to look at the ugly part😆 It drives wonderfully and rides so much better than my Avalon Hybrid did.
