One of my kitties we have now was actually genuinely stuck. She'd been in the tree for the 3 coldest nights Phoenix, AZ has had in ages, and when we got her down, she was severely malnourished, her fur was matted badly from the malnourishment, and her eyes were amber in color from her dehydration (it's actually how a friend at the time got the name Amber for her lol). She's 21 now, and we got her down from that tree when she was 1. If I hadn't persisted, she would have died.

Sarcastic Chorus being the cat is both fitting and jarring at the same time. At one hand, it feels like I'm watching one of his reviews, on the other, I can imagine the cat being the one who writes those reviews. I don't know, it's weird.
Online personalities are 50/50 when it comes to things like this honestly. The good stuff, they have nice clear voices and are very good at speaking with nice quality audio. But the downside is it doesn't feel like a character. It never feels like there's acting, just the same review feel but coming out of a character. So while their inclusion in this was nice, it would've been a bit better if they put more emotion into their role.
No complaints on the girl VAs though. They ate that performance

This was AMAZING! It felt like if Sailor Moon had Narutos fight scenes and FLCL's energy!
The cutesy character designs, heavy fight scenes, that sick twist and not to mention how it switches the magical girl genre on its head!
The only problem was that it felt more like a pilot/teaser since it was too short and fast paced!
FLCL is my all time favorite anime so lots of influence there. They taught me EVERY episode needs a battle with cool music.

this is the pilot / first episode. future episodes will pick up where this left off. I would like them to be closer to ten minutes so the plot runs more smoothly, but it depends on if we get the funds.

Garnett from being killed. You can actually see a moment of pain in his eyes. And his color pallet matches the other purple girl. Which implies that he wasn't Garnett's familiar first. He was *hers.*
Maybe i'm just reading Too much into it, but the music suddenly shifting to a sad solemn beat and him roaring At her over and over to just go away instead of attacking and Her just looking at him with empty eyes and listening broke my heart. A genuinely Felt like he was begging her to just go away, so he didn't have to do more. You can hear and see a moment of Pain or sadness in his eyes and voice. Which makes me excited For future episodes to see the relationship before she died. And why she was killed the first Place❤❤❤

Absolutely adore Nibui and Garnets character designs and the backgrounds are absolutely gorgeous. Nice to see a new interpretation of magical girls online and congrats to the hard work put in by the talented team behind this brilliant pilot
Why does zombie girl look like Hinata from Naruto Shippuden?
For a small project, this was a pretty good first shot. The choreography in the fight scene, in particular, stood out to me. I just feel like there are a couple of issues with the timing, pacing and tone of writing-particularly the dialogue. The voice actors are struggling with flatness, but there is an issue with pacing, direction and writing also dragging it down. The first gag with Salem, for example-I feel like the girls' thoughts cut in WAY too soon for it to work. Salem had barely finished the first sentence, which sounded normal enough, before they were like "God why does Salem ramble so much?". It feels like they just cut off a normal conversation; the "rambling" part felt like the girls were just TELLING us Salem was rambling without showing it. I feel like it should've waited for Salem to complete a few more sentences and/or start drifting into something irrelevent, like needless detail or snarky comments, before the girls' thoughts cut in.
It feels like the pacing of the episode is too fast and even-there are quite a few moments where it feels like it'd feel more natural to let the scene pause for a bit between characters' dialogue. Or characters felt like their dialogue was a bit too concise, bland and unexpressive. Or it feels like there are parts of the conversation that are missing-padding the pacing out, showing emotional reactions and personality, etc. The scene with Garnet Heart and the villain at the end, for example, felt rushed and stilted in the rhythm of the conversation. If these people are supposed to be some sort of enemies or have a killing vow of some sort, I feel like adjusting to a non-violent conversation feels too abrupt and there shouldve been more pauses in-between (and IN) their dialogue to show some sense of thoughtfulness, contemplation or hesitance. Or more dialogue/action of the villain jumping straight into an attack position as Garnet approaches and she says something to de-escalate or ask not to fight, before the villain eases down and asks her what she wants. It feels weird that they were fighting just a minute ago and casually approach each other and go straight into a conversation without flinching, as if they were never enemies. The conversation didn't really have a way for Garnet to slide in-how does she approach talking with someone she just fought with, and then ran off? There should be some sense of pensive conflict underlying the whole scene, but instead it feels really flat and casual. Allow for characters to hesitate between words and let dialogue sit with the character who's receiving it before they respond. Give them a moment to show them thinking, so it adds some personality and emotion (and give reaction shots for that in the animation as well). There were a few reaction shots, but only at big moments and that wasn't enough. Reactions should be regularly sprinkled throughout conversation, and then increase the intensity/weight of them for the bigger moments.
The dialogue in the final scene also feels weird. The shocked reaction from Garnet as the villain says "she just can't stop herself" feels needless and out of place if Garnet already knows why she wants revenge and admits to her fault in it somehow. She shouldn't be surprised at all for the villain to essentially say "I really want to come after you". The villain's dialogue also goes in the face of her character/reactions shown in the conversation itself. "When I see you, it just feels like I have to kill you", and here Garnet is walking up to her again, face to face, but the villain doesnt even bat an eyelash. She didn't even see Garnet in person the first time, she was just given her address over distance by Salem. She chose, at a distance, to act on that information and seek out Garnet herself-she could've chosen to ignore it if she wanted, but instead her reaction to finding out where Garnet lived was to actively seek her out. If her feelings/desire to attack was that strong, she should've had a reaction when Garnet just walks up to her later. You could've shown Garnet saying something to de-escalate the situatuon or get defensive quickly, like throwing her hands up with a line. And if the villain is tired from the first fight and doesn't want to try again, show her reacting with a flash of hostility only to wind down before Garnet sidles up next to her. Garnet just replying "I know" also feels unnatural, stiff and direct. Clearly if she "killed the villain first" (be it literal or metaphorical), then she KNOWS why the villain would want to go after her, but why doesn't the villain understand that? She should've been there for that event! Why does she need to ask Garnet "why?". She should already know! ...unless there was some sort of memory erasure or Garnet's identity was concealed in whatever happened. In which case, the villain should be a lot more suprised and on edge that Garnet revealed that "she knew" and "killed her first". The villain should be a lot tenser and confused, and her speech hesitant with more pause as she's taking in what Garnet says-instead of just running through it. And if the villain didn't know, you'd think Garnet would be more hesitant and careful around dropping such a big bomb the villain doesn't know into the conversation. Something more natural than "I know", would fit. Like maybe "...yeah...I guess I figured"-trying to awkwardly dance her way around the conversation and not reveal too much. Even then, the villain's "why?" line doesnt really fit. Maybe have the villain call out the vagueness and ask "What's that supposed to mean?". If she DOESN'T have a reason to not know it was Garnet who "killed" her, then she KNOWS Garnet knows and there's absolutely no reason for the "why?". She shouldn't be so clueless about her own motivations and condition. If she really DOESN'T understand why she can't stop herself from going after Garnet, she needs to be probing her with more questions. "Why do I feel this way? Why am I drawn to you? What did you do?". I found myself automatically asking these questions as they were talking, because it feels like there were missing gaps in the conversation that left me with them. Instead of just questions left for the audience to be revealed later, they felt diagetic.
Nibui is definitely my favorite, my precious girl!! I want to see her kicking the villains' asses with her feather duster
Mizmy is quite literally just a Hinata clone… hell even the way she runs screams Naruto, she’s got the classic ninja run

Ok, I have to say the voice acting is great, and I am curious to see where that storyline goes in future episodes. I'm just not a fan of the animation, I think it needs to be more fluid, the fight scene and the action that follow was moving way too slow.

This is a really cool pilot, and I can’t wait to see more characters! But, I do have some issues that could make the episodes better. Of course, I’ve never made a pilot or a series before, but these are just some of my opinions.
The character designs. Salem(I hope I got the name right) is great just as he is!! I love the Pokémon looking characteristics and everything. Garnet Heart is fine too, and it’s good you’re not too over detailed which is great. Maid is where I really have problems at. The color scheme and overall outfit is fine, but I feel like the eyes are out of place. Don’t get me wrong, it’s actually really cute and I wish more characters had the “cartoony eyes, detailed clothes” thing, but I feel like they could be smaller. Undead Magical Girl’s design reminds me of Hinata Hyuga from Naruto, and of course inspiration is a thing, but she looks like if Hinata was a magical girl. Overall, no real problem with designs. They’re loveable and rememberable for future episodes.
Animation. Not a big one, but if you really want animation to pop, you need to make them move more and give perspective. Make the camera go above Salem and Maid when they’re watching Undead and Garnet fight. Of course, animation is a lot harder to fix(not saying it’s hard for you, I’m just saying in general), but I would suggest you draw them in different perspectives and with poses while in the perspective.
Voice acting. Once again, not so much an issue, but I feel like the characters were monotone and lifeless, especially Salem. He’s a sly yet intellectual feline, I would imagine his tone is more active and changing. Undead’s voice acting was AMAZING, and I actually loved how they sounded AND the implied lore! Can’t wait to see that!!
Introduction. Pilots are meant to introduce characters, their goals, and overall personality. It was a lot harder for me to figure out the personalities, especially sense the appearance doesn’t match what was shown. The fight was also very anti-climatic and felt empty. Garnet Heart had powers, and I would imagine she uses them to her advantage. I can tell she also didn’t want to hurt Undead, so she could’ve just used it to make Undead back off. I would also suggest weapons to make scenes like that make the audience entertained.
Age Rating/“not for kids”. There was very few swears and anything considered “mature” for this to be remotely adult rated cartoon material. There has been many shows with 13+ age ratings with more violence and swears, and I would take a show like Clone High: Reboot for example of how they used the pilot to introduce that the show is violent and, actually, not for kids. Not all shows are like Clone High, but that’s just an example for how they introduced the age rating in the pilot.
And I think that’s everything I saw? Still though, amazing work and I hope I can see more of these characters! I really am addicted to Salem and Undead at the moment.

I also feel that the lineart and flat colors felt like someone was just tracing over other drawings and animations. It felt very flat and lifeless. I like the concept, but there’s not enough there yet to get me invested in seeing more. I’d say this pilot needed a few more drafts and the animation some more work before it’s really ready to go.
Also, the lip syncing was really bugging me.

we legit didn't know about long haired Hinata when we designed her, I was not a naruto fan, she was designed to combine elements of characters like Sailor Mars and Homura Akemi.
Mizmy is essentially looks like Hinata without the the palm strike fighting style.

I think that "Big Brother" forced Garnet to kill Mizmy for one reason or another, and that Garnet and Mizmy were romantically involved prior to this, with the two things being connected (for some reason, 'Big Brother' did not like Garnet and Mizmy's relationship.
This wouldn’t have happened if Garnet had a magic dog for a sidekick.

Can tell naruto is a big influence or at least I assume as much by the multiple references.
Mizmy does look at little tooo much like hinata, but I think that's just a side effect of the art style chosen and the minimalistic design (which makes sense for animation that's not a bad thing), I probably would've done something to differentiate the two but that's just a personal preference
I actually don’t like naruto! There will be a video out explaining the inspirations very soon, I totally see how Hinata looks the same as an adult I just never saw adult hinata hntil well after mizmy had started animation. The fighting was something I loved from my childhood shows like DBZ and Power Rangers.

There's potential for sure. I cannot express how much respect I have for making the fight scenes include fighting moves, rather than soft cheating by using charge attacks, blur, and panning over still frames. And on top of that making the fights go for multiple moves each in a wide shot is a fantastic display of commitment. One thing I would dearly love to see is characters who take notably different fighting stances and have attacks which look visually distinct, but it makes sense these two would have similar styles because I'm suspecting they were trained on the same team.

No I can see why you’d be confused with our cartoon universe end animation. This is Garnet Heart, an original pilot I made where the characters are meant to be mash ups of various anime characters particularly magical girl. The other animation you are thinking of is called ‘Deepcuts day off’ it’s a movie trailer parody about working at cartoon universe where we meet cartoon characters. Garnet heart appeared in that scene along with Oong the Oxygen Editor, Jimmy Brava, and Michael the mouse but that was more of an Easter egg.

That first fight was surprisingly clean, overall this show looks great and sounds great, maybe a little polishing but otherwise its good
