"Are we going to see a Hulk-type movie or an Iron Man-type movie?"
What they didn't know was that they were going to watch a Thor-type movie
it's gonna be a love hate relationship with loki, he's an antagonist but tom hiddleston played him in a charismatic manner, that exchange with Odin about his true parentage, was my favorite scene in this movie, brilliant actors.
Tom Hiddleston is AMAZING as Loki. Who, btw is my absolute favorite character in the marvel universe.
Mine too!❤❤
This is one where the comic book fans were nervous. Some characters are difficult to do well in a movie format. I was so pleasantly surprised by this, they pulled it off so well.
Thor is portrayed in the Norse sagas as; "somewhat douchey, bro-jock meathead football hero, who means well but causes a LOT of property damage and doesn't think before he Derps". .... AND BOY HOWDY DID MARVEL HIT THE MARK.
The fact that you guys are taking this journey completely clueless has me so jealous and anxious to join you❤🎉😊... love your reactions.
Yessss 👍🏻
Hiddleston was born to play Loki in the same way Downey Jr plays Stark. And Thor... he goes through some stuff over the course of the Marvel movies.
Seriously underrated movie imo.
I was working at the cinemas during this time, and every time, I had to just marvel at the beauty of Asgard and retraining for Thor on Earth.
"Know this, Son of Coulson. From this day forth, you can count me as your ally.." lol.
This was the movie that gave everyone their 1st favourite villain in Loki and established Thor as someone NTBFW.
Not to mention, Heimdall, A well played Odin, and the warriors 3 getting decent enough screen time.
Personally, Thor 1 and The First Avenger are my favourites from Phase 1.
He turned the family name Coulson into "Son of Coul". Just like his name is Thor Odinson (son of Odin).
@@testfire3000 yeah, typing error on my part
If you're familiar with "Babylon 5", the very first guy to attempt to pick up the hammer was J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of that show. He's also done some writing for various Marvel titles.
At 3:11 Thor with the Hamlet that is actually from the comics like the suit, hamlet, and outfit looks like it was ripped right out of the comics. I really love seeing that in live action.
18:17 The only way I can remember how to pronounce Mjölnir, Thor’s hammer, is by saying “Mule Near”
Extremely underrated movie this one
Your intuition is so good, more than often it‘s spot on, Rob! And Trin is the perfect match, I really enjoy your conversations!
Continuing our journey with Marvel universe, and we are still enjoying the ride.
On Patreon we finished phase 1 and are making our way through phase 2 and this weekend we are going to watch Ant-Man .
Very happy to edit these movies for youtube, next one will be Thor, we hope you guys enjoy watching with us.

Much love
Rob and Trin
Jeez, you’re way ahead now 😂
You basically skipped Captain America why aren't you showing his I don't get it you don't like Captain America he's one of the avengers you know so you skipped him you may want to go back and look at his movie who he is and how he started
@@carolynlove6729 I don't think you are reading well the comment, we did not skip anything we are just ahead on patreon :)
@@robtrinreact2825 Very happy to edit these movies for youtube, next one will be Thor, we hope you guys enjoy watching with us......maybe that's why he was thinking you skip them
There's three Hemsworth's actually: Chris (Marvel), Liam (Hunger Games) and Luke (Westworld).
There´s two things this film never gets enough credits: Wiriting of characters and their interaction which each other is top notch. Some of the best in Marvel films. Same goes with the Soundtrack. Out of all Marvel films this is top three with Avengers and First Iron Man soundtracks.
whats great is thor, hulk, and iron man 2 all happen within the same week i believe
Loki is my favorite character, he is very interesting and has a great development, he even has his own series, but we'll see that later
This one has really grown on me. There's a great use of space in this movie with the juxtaposition of a lonely Arizona town and the marvelous splendor of Asgard. Portman and Hemsworth have good chemistry. It so clearly and succinctly introduces Loki who continues to be one of the best Marvel characters in the MCU. Lower top tier for me.
Bifrost is the rainbow bridge connecting the God's world to the human world. Reimagening it as a transporter device is somewhat clever.
The word probably evolved from Bil rost, half literally translatable to temporary rainbow.
This movie is so good, Thor just means so much to people
“Even I forgot he had a face”. OMG ROB I CAN’T BREATHE 😂😂😂😂
😂😂🙈
Oh Trin! This one is for us! Perfect eye candy!
~Trin, absolutely 😍
"Both of you were born to be kings" (except for you loki. You're not even mine, so I don't care about you, but technically you ARE the heir to Jotunheim)
Little fun fact about the movie... when Odin is pissed at Thor for going to the Jotunns... when Loki says "father" and Hopkins just growls at him... That was completely unscripted and Hiddleston's reaction is actual genuine surprise.
Also Kat Dennings is one of my favorite "quirky" actors, and I honestly feel like Loki aside, Darcy is the best part. MEWMEW!
Gosh I love these reactions! Watching these reactions makes me want you guys to watch Agents of Shield. That show is so good and I think you'd both love the characters so much.
Love you two !!! Great reaction, as usual.
Comic book trivia: when Jane mentions her ex Dr. Donald Blake that is Thor's human alter ego in the comics. Thor's story is much simpler in the MCU in not trying to incorporate this in the storyline. A nice nod for the comic book fans.
The first two movies i remember seeing Scarlet Johansson in were Home Alone 3, and Eight Leggrd Freaks.
Loki seems Chaotic Neutral to me.
Just an FYI, asguardians aren’t human. They’re a different race of alien that are in humanoid form.
Thor is my favourite of all marvels😊
I still remember watching this in the cinema for the first time back in 2011, I was 10 years old and I brought my Thor comics wit me into the cinema.

"His brother"
"Yeah, but who's his brother?"
OH BOY am I hyped for you guys to get into this insane universe.
There actually 3 brothers but Chris and Liam are in more movies the oldest brother is Luke. They are Australia so got support Chris and I always like Thor in Norse mythology the dark hark is Tom Hiddleston who plays a great Loki. Which if know Norse Loki was the God of Mischief and Deception. The girl who in the frost guy that goes with them is Sif but is the Norse way she was a giantess, goddess of grain and fertility, and one of the Asynjur. She was the mother of Ull, god of archery, skiing, and single combat. Sif was Thor's second wife, and Ull was his stepson. Heimdall Abilities: Superhuman strength, endurance, and longevity; Supernatural hearing and vision; Teleportation the actor who plays him is Idris Elba.
thor has gotten a lot of character development since this movie. he is a whole different person in the present time of the mcu
P. S. Asgardians only get stronger the older they are.
Someone is worthy.
So glad you guys decided to do these movies in two parts. Thanks for all your work, watching them with you is great fun :D
Thor is full of himself...but he IS a god, so maybe that's to be expected a bit. He's also one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
There are actually 3 Hemsworth Brothers the oldest is training Chris and in Australia he played some Shows and now he is one of the Castmembers of Westworld. You have to watch Westworld
Great reaction to this movie. However, Captain America was before Thor. The energy source was the space infinity stone which was first seen in Captain America; the first avenger. You will discover different infinity stones in other movies.
There’s actually 3 Hemsworth, all 3 brothers are actor, but it’s true that 1 of ‘‘em isn’t really well known
But funnily enough Luke is the only other hemsworth to appear in the mcu
Actually that’s not really true anymore with Chris’ kids in love and thunder
Fun Fact: Thor (2011) is the first MCU Movie where Tony Stark does “NOT” make a physical appearance.
This film THOR uses great holy symbolism, god casts his fallen Angel (the Devil)out to live below in the under World. Greek mythology - Zeus casts Hades out of Mt. Olympus, & Odin casts (not Thor but Loki out to live in the World below. The story is well structured with worthy Villians. Great for what it is, allthough I would also like a more...GLADIATOR or Pagan CONAN type Thor, for a more adult audience
Odin: norse allfather
Thor: god of thunder
Loki: god of mischief
You’ll both love the next one I think. It’s my bf’s all time favourite of all the marvel movies.
15:32 it's always fun to see people reactions to shirtles Thor 😍😍😍
Loving it. Can't wait to continue with you guys.
Keep up the fabulous work 🤩🤩
They were still definitely finding their footing in the early movies, you’ll find hulk an outlier in relation to like any other mcu property.
I remember once asking my husband what celebrity he thought looked the most like me and when he said, "Natalie Portman" almost immediately, I don't think I loved him more.
14:35 😆
I've made this same comment a lot, but you two are my favorite reaction channels. From walking dead, lost, to this marvel series, just my favorite.
Thank youuuu!
Much love from both of us.
You: “ it’s a Hemsworth, there’s 2 of them”
Me: did you never watch WestWorld?! 😢 there’s 3 of them, and the forgotten one is actually the 2nd best after Thor.
🔥🔥
These movies get better & better with each one! I started watching your TWD reactions then, FTWD & TLOU. Now, here we are. Seems I’m watching you many times a week now. I’m enjoying every single video.
Chris Hemsworth is 6' 3''
have you seen the animated spiderman film? and if not are you planning on seeing it?
We are planning to watch it indeed :)
Coconut Thor: when normal nuts just aren't enough!
There are THREE Hemsworths and the two blonds show up in the Thor franchise...the brunette is moving on to play The Witcher...
I'll just take this opportunity to give you a little poem that my dad used to recite to me when I was a kid:
The god of war went out to ride upon his favourite filly.
"I'm Thor!" he cried,
His horse replied:
"You forgot your thaddle, thilly!"
Oh so sweet 😍
Should’ve watched the 2 Marvel One-Shots I mentioned in the Iron Man 2 comments before watching this
We will watch the one shots but not sure if we will record the reaction, time is our enemy :)
I'm glad they stopped making him dye his beard and eyebrows
A point which may not have been mentioned is that back in Phase 1 of the MCU, Marvel Studios was worried about possibly angering religious conservatives. So it presented Thor and the Asgardians not as literal deities, but as a powerful, advanced race of extraterrestrial beings with very long lifespans (5000 years on average) who had visited earth a milennia ago to counter the Frost Giant invasion, at which time the primitive humans of that era mistook them for gods. Instead of Asgard, Jotunheim and the other realms of Norse mythology being mystical dimensions like the comics, in the MCU they were other planets. The observations and interactions with visiting Asgardians 1000 years ago are what inspired the ancient Vikings to create all of Norse mythology.
Loki is all Frost giant baby who shape-shift into the color of Odin when he seen him that's when Odin knew how special he was. When Odin fell out on the steps it was from the odin sleep he sleep once a year to recharge his powers.
Yeah, like you said. It's the ugly one.
Or to be more specific: Tall guy, not that good looking.
Underrated movie. For me the third best in phase one after Avengers and Iron Man.
The various Hulk films are not officially a part of the MCU
The incredible Hulk (starring Edward Norton) is officially the 2nd MCU movie and part of the same universe. The earlier Hulk film from 2003 (starring Eric Bana and directed by Ang Lee) is not an MCU film.
You really should have watched "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer" before this. At the very least, watch it ASAP.
