Definitely do more of this! As a freelance PJ with a staff job shooting for a large outdoor brand I find it really inspiring watching this sort of content. I often wish I had a staff job at a news outlet and just freelanced for commercial work.
As living in oklahoma, i was inspired by the news from fox and all. Being in oklahoma, i dont need to see anything than one plate and the scenery from the neighborhood of oklahoma, that i would know it would be oklahoma. Glad to see other people in oklahoma. I loved this, hope to see more to be honest!
I'm currently working at my local station, inching towards a photojournalist role. We use very similar cameras and equipment you've shown here in this video. Do you have any camera tips for shooting reporters especially at night? What kind of shooting settings or lighting do you use in the day and night? (shutter speed, f-stop, gain, etc) Also, what kind of questions do you like to ask witnesses or emergency crews when capturing sound bites for sots? Great video btw! @Hezenii
I plan on uploading another video soon showing a lot more I'm doing MMJ with a mix of being a photograph. My night time recommendation is open up your iris as much as possible and light for the background after you light for the background bring in your light panels or LED lights that you have and light your subject. If you could turn on your knee or turn on a backlight feature on your camera do so! And for breaking news, it depends on the situation on what you asked the pio. It's good to follow the who what's when where why rule when arriving at a scene and doing an interview!
Man i love behind the scenes footage of news stuff, big camcorders honestly amaze me and i plan on being a news cameraman once i get older, thanks for all the advice!
@@Hezenii thanks replying! I sure do have a few questions: what kind of education do you need to get a job as a cameraman? Probably need to graduate highschool right? Do you need a drivers license to be a news cameraman? What would happen if you accidentally dropped the camera? Thats all the questions i have, thanks!
@@fletzyproductions1190 For your first question, I don't have any formal education. I did go to vo-tech/career tech in high school and got my editing certification. But honestly if you just have experience editing that will help you get your foot in the door. I started as an editor and worked my way up to where I am now. For your second question. Yes without a doubt you'll need a driver's license. Driving is one of the most important aspects of our job. So you'll need a license and a clean driver's record. For your third question if I drop the camera I'll probably get in trouble and a possible pay dock but they will probably just replace the camera and let me keep working. But a good rule of thumb is treat the camera as if it's your new born baby. Lol I hope that helps with your questions! And I'm thinking about shooting another one of these videos so keep your eyes out lol
