    In this video I show how I cut feathered bangs and a face frame with a simple yet effective haircut technique that can be done on dry or wet hair. The key is to find where you will start the angle and to not cut too deep into the side sections. You want to preserve as much length as possible around the face frame.

    I cut this style on my own hair, and will never again go back to any other cut. This "feathered" cut is the one we've all been looking for but no one ever gets right!!!!.
    Finally I found the perfect haircut!!! Finally someone showed us how to do it correctly. Thank you good sir!!
    My 21 yo daughter had been looking for curtain bangs, thinking it would attain the wing back, Farrah Fawcett, look. Tried it on my own hair, and her hair, and it just looked meh!! After seeing how well my hair did with THIS cut, though, my daughter wanted me to do hers too!! I knew she really loved it because usually she would never want the same hairstyle as her 50 year old mother.
    This cut is very easy to do yourself!!

    This is pretty much how I always had cut my own hair for years. I usually would just go into a salon so they could trim up the back of my hair for me once every 6 months. Now I'm older and have been sick a lot I don't keep my hair cut neatly like I use to and had kind of forgotten exactly how I would do it. But now my hair is thinner, frizzier, and a lot harder to do anything with. Yet, this was still a very helpful and nostalgic reminder for me, lol. Thank you so much. So few on here ever show how easy it can be to just have a nice classic cut, without all those bells and whistles confusing everyone. Simplicity is so appreciated by a lot of us. Good job!

      Lol! Same here!!! I wore this style for years as well! My hairdresser of 30 years retired a few years ago and I haven't had a haircut since. Been hiding under a stupid baseball hat ever since! With the Covid-19 pandemic, I've been worried about employment if I am let go. Who can cut my hair if I'm let go?? I can't apply and interview with a stupid hat on my head!!! Lol!!! 58 yrs old and in a hair predicament! Who'd have thought?!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

    It’s a classic long hair face framer. Never goes out of style ever. I have long thick hair and some sylists don’t get it. They say I’ll have to cut your hair shorter. No way just make a super sharp angle to connect.

      Silver Mont I just gave instructions with s very sharp angle with your haircut. My hair is still the same length. When she brought the back together. She connected very sharp angle. Used thinning shears a tiny bit to connect also. So I have this hair cut with no V in the back and siderear. Straight even length with sharp angle!
      Perfect. She listened. My hair is down to my waist.

    Thank you for this feathered hair video. I can't find a hairstylist who can layer this way as they either cut the hair too short or don't layer enough when I tell them I want to the layering to start at the eyebrow but I want to keep the length and they usually give me curtain bangs and blow dry it straight. Beautiful cut! Believe it or not, I can't find anyone to do this! Every young beautician wants to cut my hair going forward towards my face, not going back. Then they want to tell me that I can wear it either way (no I can't!) How exactly would I explain this cut to a younger stylist? Also, I have extremely thick hair. Can more layers be added, especially in the crown? (I need it because the thickness weighs it down.) Thanks for showing this classic cut!

    • @MegaAdta
      @MegaAdta 5 років тому +2

      He cut the hair going towards the face and cut it, and then styled it feathering back as well. , so I'm a tad confused about what your asking for!

    • @ogoj2
      @ogoj2 5 років тому +4

      @@MegaAdta She probably means that the angle the hair is cut by most ppl today is reversed to the opposite direction, angling from the back of the head forward toward the chin rather than cutting from the front backward toward the ear. I've had lots of those in angled or A-line bobs & I agree it looks awkward trying to feather the hair back with those reverse angles. I've never found anyone who understands how to feather hair either, & I live in nyc. Everyone's about reverse angles, uneven edges & choppy "layers" which I find sloppy, or just plain flat shapeless haircuts with no swing or motion.

      It's the only haircut I know how to do. Lol. I've been doing that haircut for almost 30 years. I taught myself. I've been cutting my little sister's hair like that forever and she gets so many compliments. Women will stop her and ask her where she gets her haircut. I used to cut lots of women's hair like that. I can't do it anymore because I have arthritis in my back, but occasionally I still cut her hair, usually after she's let somebody else butcher it. I'll cut my mother-in-law's hair a couple of times a year. She doesn't like the Farrah Fawcett do, but she likes the layers. It's how I want my hair cut, but I can't cut my own hair very well and no one else knows how to do it. Maybe I will teach one of my nieces how to do that cut.

    Ladies your so right. I have searched all around my town for a hair stylus that can layer and feather hair you can even show them a good clear picture of it. They may say yes I can do that but the minute they start cutting you know they can not. They do not even section your hair off for one. I believe it's a lost art around here anyway. These wild looking uneven hair styles is all they know how to cut. It really makes me mad no talent at all just cut. It's like even does not matter anymore. Oh but it does the now days styles are a dime a dozen there every where. A unique hair style will turn heads. I'm from the 70's through the 90's era I've seen a lot of bad styles come and go. I've also had layered hair styles that where feathered back into the rest of your hair that was beautiful I used to get so many compliments. Think I'll try and do it myself as best as I can. It will still beat what's out there. It takes someone who really loves hair and knows some history on hair styles. I've noticed some do not even own curling irons anymore. Run from them.

    I wish you were in my area! I wanted the farrah fawcett haircut and the stylist really botched up my hair including cutting off six inches in the back that I wanted to stay long. You and Ruby Tuesday on youtube really know how to do it right!
