    I liked the orange/brown colors of the flint/jasper pieces you found. As well as the fossils and artifacts.
    That spear point at 10:35ish was awesome.

    This seems like a place that had some agriculture going on, and I bet there’d be a lot to find on an archeological dig. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. I’m over in Eastern Middle TN and I haven’t come across a blade or arrow heads, but am now kicking myself after realizing I’ve left ‘tools’ in many a creek…

    • @TennesseeRocks
      @TennesseeRocks  3 роки тому +1

      Yes this area has definitely been used for farming by the native people. We are also finding archaic artifacts dating back 6000 to 9500 years old. At that time I believe they were hunter gathering for resources. Thanks for watching!

    Brian, do you have a storefront for your materials and findings? I lived in Nashville, way long ago, and will be taking my kids across TN for spring break. We'll be creek walking as well, but we would love to see the fossilized material you have cut and polished. Thanks, Michael

    • @TennesseeRocks
      @TennesseeRocks  Рік тому

      Thanks Mikey for dropping a comment. We do not have a storefront. We just rock hunt for fun with the family. We have a video showing some of the agatized brachiopods that we polished in the tumbler. They are very unique and are a blast to explore under a microscope. Look for slabs of rock usually broken into squares with crushed or hole brachiopods on top and bottom of the rock. Most are not agatized but some are. Hope you can find some when your creek walking this spring. Thanks for watching!

    Any Middle TN areas would be good to rockhound at?

    • @TennesseeRocks
      @TennesseeRocks  2 роки тому +1

      Pretty much anything near water in Middle TN would be a good spot. Get on google maps to check on your local creeks and waterways. Look for gravel bars and concentrate on the bends in creeks. As for digging be sure to be out of the flood plain near a waterway. Dig test holes and if you are finding flint it should be a good spot. I hope this helps and we appreciate you watching. Happy Hunting!
