iPhone 15 Pro Max vs S23 Ultra - Heavy Workload Test (Speed, Battery & Thermals)

- Опубліковано 19 чер 2024
- The iPhone 15 overheating issue was the trend lately so, I decided to conduct my usual heavy workload test and compare it against the S23 Ultra.
In this video I will compare the A17 Pro chip in the 15 Pro Max vs the Snapdragon 8Gen2 For Galaxy in the S23 Ultra.
The test includes 4 heavy tasks that each flagship to run simultaneously for 30 minutes to see which one will survive and takes the win.

This test is just amazing. Showing how numbers are just not always true to real life scenarios. Also amazing is S23 Ultra, Samsung did a very good job from S22 ultra onwards. Coming from a long-term iPhone user.
Yes I agree, but one thing to keep in mind is that is anybody really going to have a teams meeting, while following directions, WHILE watching a youtube video. WHILE screemsharing. WHILE playing a game, I mean I don't think I would do that normally, but I agree Samsung is better when it comes to performance, but i think that apple could really beat it, but it keeps priortizing other things, like heat battery health and other things (srry for the long reply)

Thank you for making this test. Most tests I've been seeing lately are either camera or battery tests which was boring. If you want video, go for iPhone, if you want photography, go for the S Ultra, if you want battery, go for the ROG 7 Ultimate.

They've also failed bend tests for the last few years and have terrible Android update records. I'd be massively tempted by one if it wasn't for either of those!
@@shinydavidhowell I'm only in it for the consistent gaming. ROG 7 Ultimate and Redmagic 8S Pro are the best. this is an unrealistic load on the phones for most people, if you screen share asphalt 9 from your phone while watching a 4K something video you are probably the kind of person to use an android. Most people just want a phone that works, thats what you get with apple, phones that last long, don’t stutter, have good cameras and are easy to use. I am aware that the top of the line Samsungs have good cameras but even on the S23 ultra when I zoom in the phone stutters. And even in video! at that price point I find that absolutely ridiculous. I know I won’t be able to change your mind since you seem like you’re either extremely immature or just delusional, I have had androids before and I used to think I was better than everyone or that I “beat the system” but I was just fucking stupid 💀. So yeah, when I feel the need to screen share asphalt 9 while playing a 4K video then I will consider an android again but until then I’ll enjoy a phone that never stutters, and so will the average person ✌️. Thanks for the vid🖤
Now this is a stress test.
I appreciate your video a lot.
Great comparison. Seems the 3nm chip doesn't help much here. Not sure if it is the buggy Ios 17.0.X that made it throttle this badly or iPhone thermal strategy caused the differences. It would be reasonable to do a re-match when IOS 17 reaches its more mature version (IOS 17.1.X)
I think it's not just because of the software. The A series has 6 cores and Snapdragon has 8 cores. Basically, more core is better for real multitasking (running multiple apps at a time, not just switching between apps) because it's physically more capable. Of course, A series is a faster chip which means faster processing, but more core can do more processing
I don't think is just a software issue the main benefit of reduced lithography is exactly doing more with less (less heat less energy due to shorter distances) which is definitely not happening here.
I wonder how it’s going to play AAA games with that kind of lag very insane
@@BEYOND-EGO I think it's okay if it's just running a game, as long as it's not running multiple processing at a time
This is a great test of real heavy use impact. Tests that just show swiping back and forth between apps and the home screen are kinda past being useful, all flagship phones can do that quickly now

As a very contented S23 Ultra owner, I just want to say one thing. I never thought the day would come when I felt genuinely sorry for Apple customers. With the introduction of the IPhone 15 series, that day has come. So many people are being disappointed by these devices.
To be fair, Android has always had load of issues and drawbacks. Especially for me, sitting in Google phone wagon, price to pay hoping for a smoother/better experience, than Touchwiz residue (I mean no offense), Samsung is getting better each year, and has more exceptional features than other brands. With S23 line, Samsung for the first time "beats" Apple. Whilst Apple has been nearly flawless for an average user, and even most power users.
I've got Google Pixel 7 Pro, with thermal issues, battery efficiency is like 20% worse than competition, so 5000MaH feels like 4000, and performance that makes the phone stutter even in daily use, and screen that dims after 30seconds in sunlight, otherwise it's a "perfect" phone.
I bought 7 Pro before S23 existed, and it was the "best" for me Android, that I could find, with all it's issues. Meanwhile any iPhone PM, since Apple 11 series (A13 Bionic, 2019), is on par/or beats all specs of my 2022 phone.
There is no being sorry for iPhone users, it always has been and is a safe choice, reliable high-end phone.
If, when I got Pixel 7 Pro, there would have been S23 Ultra released, I would have gotten it, instead. Aside from (personal preference) curved screen, it's THE phone to beat in 2023, and it's crazy to think that in a few months S24 Ultra will be released, that thing will be the phone to dream about and get, even for Apple users, to Android, I believe.
@@xyplethyou used the pixel 7 at its worse people like you are the problem who use the device at their worse and then bash them also apple was always worse then android but had a smoother lag free experience the only thing apple fans cpuld say was better in their devices altho now apple has made progress in other departments they have lost their main point the best thing they had

The s23ultra is a beast,Compared to any other phone and not cause of this video or cause I own one,I did a benchmark test and my phone is better than 84% of phones period 😊 And gpu is outstanding great video👌 🍎
Cannot compete with samsung sorry 😂
The sad part is that iPhone will still sell like hot cakes that's why reviewers really have to be honest about drawbacks n not give apple a pass.
Ah yes really sad when people are screen sharing in a video call, navigating and playing the most heavy game there is xD should be honest lol
They'll be getting hot mess instead, they deserve to be scammed big time if they didn't watch and research properly before buying this crap
If they are too honest they will not receive a test unit from Apple next year. Period.
@@neilmcguinness4422 same for all brands, but they're not obligated to sugercoat it in their review video which they make after the embargo period is over
@@bymicromizeBros still depending Apple, criticize them if you want your Iphone to be better, cause even 14 PRO MAX beat 15 PRO MAX in this kind of test.
the best testing I've watched..
Amazing. Literally Amazing. Keep up the good and honest work sir.
Makes you think about the big tech youtubers 😂 they never would show smth like this🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Been like this for a long time, iPhone's have always been kings when it comes to Geekbench, but as soon as it comes down to real life usage with actual heavy load and thermals come into play, it just performs bad and worse than most other Android flagships.
The iPhone is just for showing off. I have both Samsung and iPhone. People are judgemental, so when I get judgy looks , I switch to my iPhone.
@@khioneyuicouldn't be more true
The reason behind the iPhone lagged and dimmed, is because the chip it was meant to be like that, the system throttle the chip, that how they optimize their chip, because they prioritize battery health over performance, as for Samsung they don't have too much strict In their chip, so basically samsung is prioritizing performance, but in long term you might end up replacing the battery before the iphone
@@khioneyuifor me, it’s more about the bigger screen, better quality, better camera, and just a overall better upgrade.
@@khioneyuiAs an iPhone fanboy, I am offended, frustrated, angry, hyperventilating, and rage crying because other flagships are performing better in games despite the iPhone showing better numbers.
This is the kind of test most youtubers avoid.... nice video as always
Thank you for doing the test with mobile data damn
you should've included pixel 7 pro with android 14 as you've shown android 14 improves on performance and thermals on pixel
