These are the kinds of videos I'd love to see CIG make, but don't want to see them spend time and funds to produce. Glad we have a Loremaster like yourself to do it.
Just wanted to say that while I would pop in and partially watch some of your longer form episodes, I am enjoying greatly these little 10 minutes bite-sized lore videos. Keep it up! After this one and your Most interesting Star System video, you earned my subscription click and I look forward to more!
This was really fun and educational to watch. I admire and appreciate the work you do, to mine this information and put it together for us. I can always picture some kind of fold out shelf/tailgate on the back of the Buggy for friends to sit and ride, or place a box or two on it. Something else I would like to see is a small utility trailer for it.
I liked the lore of the man but what intrigued me the most was the last image the one of the man standing at a window looking out, at first blush thats all it is but if you look closer it tells a different story the man has his arms to his sides most likely crossed in front of him but the reflection has more of a super man pose. To me this says that he was a modest, humble man but the world's view of him was slightly different, just my take on it.
this reminds me the yakuza codes: you fucked up, you got your figners cutoff, but they do honor one's achievement within the organizations. it has been such until recently at the end of 2021, where the japanese government decided their existence are no longer required, thus set to irradiate them from the japanese society. so this code might buried with them.
Im gonna be honest, i find SC lore lazy and rushed, i mean an armor that has been used for 500 years? Ships designs in use for 400 years ? In a technological multi stellar Civilization?, thats lazy
We still use knives and those are ancient, of course those knives aren't the same as we have now, similar to how ships and equipment aren't the exact same as they were when they were first designed. A great modern example is the B 52, designed in the 1950's and still used in 2022, likely to be used for at least another decade. The A-10 was designed in the 1970's and is still in service today. There are naval ships in the worlds navies which are retrofits from World War 2 Vessels pushing 80 years old. It's not lazy it's mimicking the modern world and the reality of how expensive it is building massive amounts of kit and vessels for use for trillions of humans across dozens of solar systems which can take months if not years to fully ship.
@@TheAstroHistorian we dont use naval ships from the 1600s nor our soldiers fight with equipment from the 17th century... yes an Arlington class destroyer floats like a trireme from ancient rome, yet they are totally different monsters The b52 basic "shape" was designed in the 40s but it was unable to become a reality untill the 80s because of technology The concept of accelerating an object to harm a human may have 50.000 years, yet the method to achieve such results has changed vastly, especially over the last 200 years I highly doubt we will see a10s fighting wars 400 years in the future or marines charging in Bradley's SC is an amazing game, but they really just gapped the science and technology lore lol 😆
@@StoneCoolds Actually we do have sailing ships that are over 150 years in service right now, the Star of India for example. So it is reasonable to consider what the lore of SC (and other future lore) could be obtainable. The future is being painted in a positive light, so take the ideal of that into consideration. You might appreciate it more.

I mean I wouldn't mind a pay check 😉

Good stuff, Paul! I dig Greycat's lore. Their tools n' golf carts too!!! 😉👍

You should do one on the creator of Joker Engineering.
I'll look into that for next week!
Love your documentary style narrations.
Glad you like them!
Great stuff as always! Keep them coming!
Awesome episode. These are getting even better! As an engineer I feel these lessons in my bones (see: engineers iron ring IRL in Canada).
I had heard about the Iron Ring of Canadian Engineers but didn't think that this might have been inspired by that.
Loved this video. I need the lore, pls keep injecting it into my brains.
More to come!
YESSSSS love the Galactic Historians
Yes more lore on influential characters
One-part Tony Stark, one-part Leonardo Da Vinci. I like it.
Nice to know. Keep up the good work!
Owing to it's origin as a tough vehicle for the mines, today's PTV can survive a drop from orbit, keeping it's occupants safe in the process.
I mean it kinda works. Pardue was a genius, if someone could design a vehicle to survive orbital drops it would be him.

Enjoyed, thank you.
Yes! All the lore!
This was cool.
Great vid ty
Maybe one day we will see the armored PTV
We might...and CIG would charge $150 for the meme.
I think Ruben Pardue was a hero and about lore I always do want to know more :-)

Born in early 24th Century
2381 - Underground HAB partially collapsed.
2771 - The first Jumppoint gets discovered.
So he DID Timetravel!
Did I say 2771? That was my bad it was 2271
A comment for the Comment God.
