@@dennismatt11 it honestly is that’s why I turn it on and then just leave it. It does drain the battery a bit, but makes my life easier changing modes. One thing I did realize and noticed is that every time you use it you have to press Fn+tab to choose which mode you want to use and I use wired a lot and have to do it every single time
They should have the 1.6 pcb option. For me, boards stacked with full foams sound pretty similar. What make a board different is the no foam sound. I removed all the foams except the pcb foam (as its 1.2mm pcb), tape the bottom case to protect the pcb from the battery leakage, tape the flex cut to reduce flex. Board sounds pretty good, not the Loudy clack but good for me.
i was actually able to fit 2 layers of tape mod in this with no problem closing the case or lifting it without the top coming off. not too sure why yours are having that issue. I did however take your word on the designer studios stabs and they are soooo good. thank you for the recommendation!
Was it with the poron foam as well? Yeah I really tried to fully close it and it would just slide off. Glad the Designer studio stabs working for you! I think it’s great especially considering the price
@@mikeytypes yeap it was with full foam and even the extra foam that came extra with the keyboard. i was able to close the board. i heard that the ball bearing closing mechanism can be tightened manually. maybe you can give that a try! and yes the designer studio stabs are absolutely mental for the price. 205g0 on the housing and xhtbdz on the wires and they work like a charm. thanks again for the recommendation :)

Already spending a couple hundred on keyboards really don't want to be spending a lot more haha. Good to know! I'll have to take a look, but got a lot more boards to try out for now haha
@@mikeytypes ya I got the pro in navy with the Kailh switches. They sound amazing. The thock sound is a bit loud though. I might try quieter switches for work. I agree about the stupid wireless switch under the caps lock but I plan to run wired 95% of the time anyways. That's really my only gripe. 10/10 would recommend.

@@mikeytypes is the aluminum plate just stiffer? Or is it more about sound? I swapped to my silent switches and holy moly it was hard to do. The plate is so flexible the new switches weren't fully seating without a lot of effort. It's whisper quiet now which is what I need for work but might consider plate swapping now that I know the baseline

@@Blaydin1995 the sound is definitely different. The feel is slightly different I found using the aluminum plate just felt way nicer to type on and not as heavy. The FR4 plate feels the same. The switches are different too. In terms of latency feels quite the same
I feel that the steel plate feels a bit lighter to use. The thing about the FR4 plate I noticed was that it felt very heavy to type on so like with long use may feel finger fatigue
@ Thanks for the response. I’m new to the custom keyboards, and as you said in the video the switches are hard to take off on the fr4 plate. This may sound dumb, but how do I take out the switches without damaging them.
@ make sure your switch pulled is hitting both latches on the front and back and then gently pull it out upwards and if need be push down on the plate to help it come out

Wobkey states that the key sound is more crisp with the Reboot over the Beta. Do you think this is only because of the different switches or something else in the design of the keyboard?

Hipyo said in his review that the Beta has mushier switches than the Reboot Pro. Its probably the switch upgrade from the BSUN Arctic to the Kailh Cocoa that makes it sound crispier. The Kailh Cocoa is also used in the Rainy Pro. Also, it looks like the switches on your board are the BSUN Arctic, not the HMX Frost.
@ did I say in my video that it was the HMX Frost? Oops I thought I put BSUN Arctic. I didn’t find that the BSUN arctic was mushy honestly. It’s actually a nice Thocky switch but it did have a bit of a problem where some switches weren’t working after lubing.
wow thats a surprised because for me in my country (vietnam) the Neo80 is more expensive, where as the crush is closer to 110 usd. The Neo80 overall is definitely better overall, since it has other mounting options. But I think the crush is still a very good option. Not sure why overseas there is such a price difference.
@@huycao100 oh that’s quite interesting for here the NEO80 was around 120USD for the kit and then of course Keycaps switches would get to about 200. NEO80 for sure more mounting, but less foam inside and the Crush80 lot of foam so very different sound styles
@@mikeytypes yeah for me the neo kit was around 150 usd, while the crush with switches and keycaps is around 110. I do like full foam so I don't mind either. I even bought better case foam and switch foam for my other keyboards. When comparing these 2 kits I think it just comes down to whether you want topmount or not, and whether you want 1.6mm pcb or 1.2mm flex cut. Otherwise they both are good

Good question! I have had all three but I gave my Rainy75 away. Now the Rainy75 and GX87 I feel isn’t the best comparison for each other only because the Rainy is a 75 and the GX is a TKL. Considering that both the Rainy and MCHOSE pricing is the same for their highest version I would choose the GX87 over the Rainy. The reason being the GX87 has a nice ball bearing gasket and has done a very great job in terms typing feel and quality of the board. When considering the feel of both boards the rainy feels a lot more dense and packed with foam while the GX87 feels like it’s more balanced. I would say though that if someone ones thocky they should choose a Wobkey board if they want creamy/thocky go with the GX87. The Crush80 is pricier it does have the magnetic connection but is the whole board feel like it should be 60-70USD more? If you consider the carry case and extra plate I wouldn’t exactly say it is that much more worth it. The Crush80 is heavier and feels a lot more dense just feels thick compared to the GX87. I honestly find that the Wobkey board does not sound true to the switches you put in it while the GX87 the switches have a more distinct sound difference. I remember with the Rainy I could put a clacky switch and it would sound Thockier. It will come down to personal preference I would say do you like a heavier typing feel and just pure thock Wobkey does it. A little more balanced and nice light and smooth typing feel the GX87 and more distinctive switch sound differences.
Is neo 75 cu quiality much better than this or it's almost the same? YeP, I know it's a different form factor, but I'm asking about basic quality for the future builds
Oh not a problem to ask! Unfortunately though I haven’t tried the Neo75.. so I can’t really comment on the quality. The Neo80 though I would say was better quality material though
Yeah it sounds really good, unfortunately I don’t have the Akko cream blue 😢 but I’ve been slowly trying with other switches and recently been trying the Keybay Bluecheese it sounds good
I really want to get this keyboard, the stock sound and build is absolutely amazing, but I do have one question. I can't find the exact name "Crush 80 *beta* pro", the current one the link you provided takes me to the "Crush 80 *reboot* pro". If there is one thing I know about keyboards if the name changes the board does too. Is it the same board, because I do not know how to mod and I just want a poppy stock sound. Thank you in advance!
@@oOptimqstic it is still the same so currently they are in the process of doing step by step until final production. I just had ordered mine during the beta phase and now they did a reboot. I did go over it very slightly in the video but on their website as well they will show like the changes they made which is like the ball bearing connector and the finishing parts of the case.
@@oOptimqstic no problem! Just the thing about the switches though mine were the HMX the Kailh switches someone here said is louder. The HMX ones just be careful when lubing after opening the switch mine a couple had double typing
@@citrusdrops3 I haven’t had the chance to try the Evo80 though I do wish Neo/Qwertykeys would collaborate with me. My only experience has been with the Neo80 which I really should post my video on it but kept getting pushed back. Taking a look at the Evo80 I think it’ll be a good board, but it won’t be as like Thocky and full of foam as the Crush80. Another good option would be the MCHOSE GX87. As I have tried that one out and liked it as well
@@MotherWacker98 the Neo80 was a really beautiful keyboard, but for me personally I didn’t like how my switches sounded at the end just because it’s a thin board and not much room to add more foam. I’d say if you aren’t one who wants a like packed with foam sound then the Neo80 is definitely great

Thought about getting a HE keyboard but cant justify the price of the Wooting 80he barebones + geon raws and sth like the magger looks great but I dont prefer the form factor. Whats your preference for gaming? I am not sure, if the gaming positives outweigh the sound and feel compromise, when compared to a good mechanical.
@@earnace2049 after using a Hall effect board I have to admit I really like it for gaming it’s like the best for gaming especially at more competitive levels but a mechanical does do the job. Like a good mechanical keyboard is more than good enough. Its only when you really want that extra from hall effect boards like trying to super glide easier in apex

It is not that I do not appreciate this video or the keyboard presented, but since when (I have worked in IT from 4 decades ago) did the sound of keys become its major factor? I mean, can I game on this? Can I type comfortably on it? Can it handle every day work better or worse than what an old guy like me used to use? I am confused, but again I really like what you showed here and your video quality is top notch.
