i genuinely reckon kons work on an office space could improve productivity so much with the sheer amount of detail on small things such as the wire holder thingies that would save so much time and space using throughout a day
When it panned to the after shot of the desks... my heart sank, beautiful ! How could they have the wires like that, next to the chairs.. The nas near the window, yikes hahaa. This was so wholesome too, I'll offer to interior design the place hah ! Needs colour for sure ! Great video Kon !
Nice work Kon, ideally you’d want each work station to have its own dedicated Ethernet line so they can individually get 1Gb or 10Gb throughput to the NAS. By connecting all those machines to a mini switch your creating a bottleneck across all the computers.
That network switch could bottle neck the Mac's (MAC studios have 10gbe), your switch was only 1gbit. Effect depends on the NAS network speed, Existing switch and internet connection speed though. Get a more expensive 10gbe or 2.5gbe switch to eliminate/reduce it. Or could have pulled 4 ethernet cables thru from the main switch via the same route.
I cried when it popped up on screen haha, he needs to go back and get him a 10 gig switch ASAP. AND swap the cables, those are only 1gig so will bottleneck aswell
Unfortunately network switches don't work the way you would think. All the workstations sharing the same 1 cable input will make the network slower than having 4 separate cables. Great video tho.
Just as a little pointer. I noticed you are running power cables with a data (Ethernet) cables in the same sleeve. I would try and separate these in future builds to stop potential interference as the data is a Band 1 cable (extra-low voltage) and the power is a Band 2 cable (low voltage). Im an electrician and thought this tip could help. Great build though!
@@KonFilms I believe you can get a seperate sleeve to put the data cables into which has a screen around the inside (to prevent interference) and then you can just cable tie this sleeving to the other sleeving as you’ve allowed for the interference to be counteracted!
Love your office videos Kon, inspired me to do some cable management in my own. But please for the life of GOD use a 10gb switch. A £13 1gb switch is going to give serious bottleneck to the NAS and the internet.
Great video, However that networking you did will harm them more than ever. Each station should have its own network connection due to them having a dedicated 1Gigbit connecting having them share 1 gigabit connection will slow down the connection to the internet and the network devices around..
Made me cringe throughout with each station being bottlenecked by a gigabit backhaul, also comparing the switch to an extension lead when that would be a hub which haven't been used in decades. A switch is much smarter than that, even unmanaged ones.
Surely if they've got a gigabit leased line the only contention would be each other anyway? In which case as long as the switch isn't awful it will have a negligible effect I reckon (not that these Chris and co. will ever really be fully utilising a full duplex connection anyway 😁)
@stammy2425 they will be throttled either way to the NAS and the internet if, someone is uploading to the internet and someone is uploading to the NAS at the same time they will be affected horribly
14:35 Hey Kon! Was just wondering what you exactly ment by this. Are you saying connect your graphics card to you monitor via the display ports and the hdmi ports or just display ports?
Another sick video! Although I struggled throughout as I work with vinyl graphics daily and I couldn't stop looking at the state of the frosted vinyls on the windows 😮🤦 yes I am aware I have problems 😂
Im glad many people have stated the bottle necking of adding the switch under the desk - You should of just ran 4 separate ethernets from the rack as it would will faster for each user
Hello kon quick question, what do you use to transfer GoPro footage from your computer or phone much faster than than using the application that they have
i noticed that the souble sided tape that is on stuff like cable holders or similar cable management stuff eventually falls off? any tips on that? I usually resigned to fixing it with some double sided tape every time it drops. Is annoying though
Gotta love the cable management! That looks great. But the way they have set up that office, I feel like that could be done better. 🫣 Some of the walk spaces look so narrow
BRO KON LOOKS SO GREAT! Big ups on the physical transformation man.
Facts
Kons in amazing shape
I think that he would look better with longer hair
This video was recorded awhile ago, in the latest sidemen video he’s literally skinny which is great
His bald head needs to physically transform to be longer
Chris's self degrading, sarcastic, and intentionally cringe humour is so underappreciated lol
yea definitly! I mean he only has 5.87 million subscribers :(
‘Humour’
Chris getting a lunch cooked for him by Chip + you rewiring his office is so wholesome for him, deserves it all.
Everything’s wholesome these days apparently
mans been down since the breakup shoutout to the lads for keeping him in videos
chris and kon are the funniest duo 🤣🤣
First
what are u doing here
when are u guys gonna do a good thing with this website?
Hi UA-cam..
Taking break ?
ok so youtube just randomly pop out of nowhere 💀
i genuinely reckon kons work on an office space could improve productivity so much with the sheer amount of detail on small things such as the wire holder thingies that would save so much time and space using throughout a day
I thought u would change the whole room not just the setups that won’t change much
Kon's calves are an absolute work of art
I’ve just watched a 20 minute video on cable management… the power of great editing!
cannot lie but kon and chris are arguably the most creative youtubers in the UK right now, their content just keeps me entertained

I love these vids so calming and actually useful because it’s all pretty affordable and plausible to do yourself thanks Kon

beat me to it, dummy switches are absuloute novice behaviour
Thats what i was thinking. Basically devided their individual speed by 4.

yeah watching that segment made me die inside a little bit
yh i thought kon would know about that tbh
For the editors too, connected to a local NAS
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Gonna be pain for video editors.
I cried when it popped up on screen haha, he needs to go back and get him a 10 gig switch ASAP. AND swap the cables, those are only 1gig so will bottleneck aswell
Ayy it’s about time we had more of these 💪🏼💪🏼
Kon looking great.. nice office upgrade for lil Chris
WE LOVE CHRIS DIXON WE DO ❤️❤️❤️
Speak for yourself

Thanks for including the items you use! Looks great Kon!
I love Kons personality, such a good video!
Kon is just a GOAT!! Inspired me to try and make my setup much better lets hope it goes to plan with such a small space😊
I feel like he should've spent a bit more on a the switch if theyre editing off a NAS or at least storing videos on a NAS, idk about only Gigabit
Can’t lie Chris just acted like what I act like when I’m trying to convince my mum I like the gift she gave me knowing I don’t care
I wonder was it bc he’d thought kon would do “more”
16:26 killed me when Chris couldn’t see over the door 😂
I love the shopping segement at the start. So much good info about what to get. 👍
an office tea station is the most british thing you can have 😂😂
Amazing editing, the fart @ 09:07 was in tune 😂
I like this one. Super practical and realistic. Good stuff
17:45 when you show your mum something she dosen't give a fuck about 🤣
Three minutes and Kon already giving me flashbacks to the idiots at work bringing in their own switches and causing mayem
Am I the only one who thinks your videos are absolutely awesome? 🙌😄
Mannn what I would love to have kon do my setup…. There’s something glorious about watching a good cable management video

Amazing thank you - is there a sleeve I can put these into to stop the interference and then put them into one single cable sleeve?

14:35 Hey Kon! Was just wondering what you exactly ment by this. Are you saying connect your graphics card to you monitor via the display ports and the hdmi ports or just display ports?
He's just saying it's better to use a Display Port cable instead of HDMI. You only need to use the one cable from your pc to your monitor.
@@ZanicMedia Thanks alot!

Was totally unaware about using a DP over HDMI. Defs gonna get one now 🤣
We stan a Kon transformation vid out of no where
kon is so goated with these stuff
Sometimes I feel Kon is the Brand Ambassdor of the Quote "It doesn't need to be clean it should look clean"

14:34 DP is not always better, now that HDMI 2.1 is out, it is much better than displayport.
YESS I LOVEE THISS❤❤
The only thing that got me was why place the Mac´s in the back corner of the desks hindering access to them without crawling on the floor?
Running the Data cable for the NAS in that trunking is all well and good if its not along side power cables.. those things 'should' be separate..
I guess Adobe don't pay as much as air up, that or Chris isn't worth spending/doing the the full room 😂🤣 amazing cable !
DAMn BRO another banger video!
a tea station might the most British thing ive ever seen
Love your vids!!
Sick video… but damn your looking good. Keep it up ❤
Kon love your work really good
Looking great Kon 😊
the fart at 9:06 😂😂
If there’s power cable in that metal trucking then that data ran through it needs to be in separate containment
Geez Kon you been looking good lately
chris and kon are the funniest duo . Chris's self degrading, sarcastic, and intentionally cringe humour is so underappreciated lol.
Awesome work, where did you get the large mouse mats from?
mate the farts were the best part . 🤣
They would have to reach under the desk to turn on the Mac studios?
God these videos are satasfying. Kon looking great aswell, work going in on and off camera
4:39 haha "i don't want to name and shame"
Sick vid Kon!
Pls do Danny arrons’ setup

Not watched loads of your vids might have to take a look as what I seen is true and to the point
gotta love kons videos
kon, that display port thing ur talking about isnt always true... u can get the same performance out of the correct hdmi cable aswell
Yeah that part made me cringe
Yesss Chris MD!!
14:38 Your telling me this whole time I the display cable is t the best way?

What you said about the hdmi vs dp is literally not true?
Is that a workspace building ?
“Power tools”
*proceeds to pick up a hammer*

not the gigabit switch with the local nas connected to the macs. 😭😭
Gotta love the cable management! That looks great. But the way they have set up that office, I feel like that could be done better. 🫣 Some of the walk spaces look so narrow
im sure someone all ready said this but you bought a hub not a switch. Hubs work but switches are way better
bro please do dejis setup!!!! idk if he has an actual setup but going off the sidemen among us vids with him laptop, i think he needs one.
