So to clarify with the elements, Sandalphon steals the tetra elements that govern the laws of the world in his debut story as a villain, and has a playable version in the gacha based on that where he activates a skill and gets 2 of the 4 elements(fire water wind or earth) at random. That's why the 4 elements show up in Ain Soph Aur(the SBA)l. Once he becomes the Supreme Primarch after Lucifer gets relieved of his cranium by Beelzebub, he simply has access to all the elements at once after allowing the archangels in his command to retire from their duties overseeing the elements and live for themselves.
For Rising purposes, it seems like 5u is either going to let him cycle through the elements in a fixed order(they do show fire water earth and wind in order so its probably that.) or gives him one at random like the above mentioned skill. Some of his skills may have a built in follow up that does the 5u or they specifically let him cancel some specials into 5u to cycle fluidly, its hard for me to tell at the moment.
The fireball and the tatsu and the dp all seem relatively straightforward to me. The earth element fireball is the ground pillars, I think these are meant to be a frametrap at close range and screen control further out. And the water element one seems to be more of a defensive move, but we didnt really get to see it since it canceled a projectile point blank.
The slashing special he does the U version of is called Ecliptica, it is to my understanding both the advancing hit-grab attack and the backstep/teleport and you can choose whether to retreat with it or rush forward. When he does that back-turned pose I think thats when you choose what to do. The followup flurry of slashes I *think only appears if you hit the opponent? Though now that I say that, the hitgrab and flurry might be follow up inputs and not individualized options. We're gonna have to wait and see.
Seeing our angel boio looking this good makes me so happy.
If his element change is 5U, there is a chance that it works kinda like Zooey, where you can press a button for a follow-up, but instead of having a hitbox, the button you hit chooses the element. I just hope it isn't random or in a cycle.
Season 2 is certainly going to be interesting. Can't wait for Sandalphon
So, my quick thoughts
Element cycling has to be 5U. I'm unsure if it'll be directional or a two-step input (UL, UM, ect. 5U U+L U+M and U+H is a set that would also work) Narm and Yuel can switch between stances during other animations, I'm guessing it would be similar for Sandy, pressing the input to switch stances during a special would queue up the switch for the first possible frame.
236 is his fireball, we see him shoot a blade out. While in fire it seems to be multi-hit and launches, water appears to have a slash like Gran's 236M and the water orb it leaves behind being a very slow projectile. In Earth, it's the ground pillars that I think can be charged, otherwise that's a slow af attack. In wind, it's faster and I assume travels full screen. I'm lumping all of these together as "Fireball" because if you look, they all share the same animation from Sandy himself.
I beleive we only see his 623X once, during the clip with Bubz, a lot of people are pointing out that looks like 623M and it seems fairly standard for that. Without the HUD though, we can't tell if it will be a true DP. As far as DLC goes, they seem to be averse to giving them true DPs as only Bea got one.
We see a dash in both the fire section and the water section. In the fire we see an EX flash and it seems to have a follow up part, while in the water he cancles straight into an element switch. This is most likely 214X, however, it's unclear if it's a command dash like Percy, or maybe the light one just doesn't have an active hit. I'm thinking the dash we see against dragonmom might be the no element heavy version
As for him stancing up into Judgement Cuts, I'm taking a stab that that's 22X, and then he can teleport forward or back, or throw out a button. at least that's how I'm seeing it. Maybe the strength of the button determents if/how he teleports. I'm almost completely certain we see the U version of this just before Paradise Lost
Speaking of that, his regular SBA seems to be a variation on Ain Soph Aur, and obviously his SSBA is Paradise Lost.
That's my thoughts on fitting in all we see on screen into the standard "4 specials and a U skill" approuch
tbh brick about element pick i think they'll just put it in a cycle or let you choose with a combonation of 5Ux something, for example
5U-L fire, 5U-M earth, 5U-H wind, 5U-U water, then to get back to no element you juat press the same element option you currently are in
6:05 This looks like Talviyo. Gran gets counterhit out of whatever he tries to do after his Boot. I'd imagine it has only some invuln like Luci's teleport, but it doesn't look like his Relink parry. If it is Talviyo I don't imagine it'd be like Zeta's armoured stance.
8:03 I'm half convinced this is actually a command dash. Maybe like Lightstep in Relink, with followups? The section against Djeeta later has him doing (what I assume to be) his 5U after the dash rather than an attack followup. It almost even looks like it was cancelled into the buff. Alternatively it's a rekka, whose followups depend on what element he's currently in, perhaps No Way Out?
12:00 I'm not really sure on this in particular. The startup seems notably higher than any other fireballs we see. The fireball itself is also a water orb rather than the sword he has at other times. I almost wonder if it's a different special move entirely. My current theory is that he has a couple of consistent specials (fireball, rekka/command dash/whatever) and one special slot that rotates depending on element: for no element, maybe it's his DP? for water it's this strange fireball, for earth it's the one that looks like abel's fireball along the ground... With the airdash later, maybe Wind would be a movement special. No clue about Fire.
12:09 The red flash again means counterhit. After going and counting the frames, it looks like it's 17 frames of startup, which seems right for a frametrap off autocombo here. The link into 66M is really weird to me, it implies you can link 66L or f.M or something for a much better combo. It's a multihit move, so I don't think it being a counterhit would matter to the frame advantage but it's not unheard of, see Lucilius's 623H giving a c.H on counterhit rather than a c.M... I really hope this is minus on block, doubly so if it's a low. As an aside, it's definitely earth, looking at both the colour of the attack itself and at the stage they're on (if you look at the others, they're in a very red environment for the fire, a beach for water, Feendrache (iirc? cba to check) for earth and Port Breeze (again, iirc, cba to check) for wind).
15:04 Something easy to miss here is that the jump in launched itself. This is highly unusual, the only one I know for a fact that does this already is Lucilius's j.U, and that's a very different style of button. I want to say that this launching is probably why it looks so deep, the reward is less than it might have been otherwise, or it's harder to combo out of. The normal used to pick up is probably 2U, from the use of the legs. On first watch I thought the special was the dash again but on second watch it does look like something different. Perhaps it's the special slot attached to all the element specific specials for when he doesn't have an element active? In which case his DP would always be accessible, which is the main reason I thought my previous idea was weird. I don't think it is the same dash as against Belial because the element specific part of that move seems to be only the second part, the initial dash didn't have any of the fire sparks. This theory would put him at 8 specials, 3 always accessible being DP, ecliptica, command dash/rekka and 5 all attached to the same input and being dependant on element. Though, Talviyo doesn't fit into this. UUUghgh I have no idea. The U skill I do think was Ultimate Talviyo, though.
16:10 I would guess this is just his SSBA superflash animation, same idea as Lucilius deploying his 12 wings. Paradise Lost is just his SSBA. As a general rule, SBAs have one cinematic, being either on superflash or on hit, while SSBAs have both. Vira doesn't get an On Hit animation for her SBA in install. But the frame where his wings are golden seems weird. Doesn't seem to match what comes before or after it. Might be just a trailer thing? but that also seems weird. Also looks like Paradise Lost is a beam super, with maybe only the close followup going into cinematic? which as a Beam Super Enthusiast I am very excited for.
In conclusion this guy is Fucking Confusing and I will almost definitely at least try to pick him up, doubly so if Luci gets shot dead (which I do hope he does, to be fair) and Vira gets no buffs
They really gave the boi Shulk Monado arts! Sandy's gonna be some peak! 🪽
that dash @8:00 looks like a rekka
I said it here first: 4u, 5u, 6u, 2u for the 4 elements.
Ooooor maybe its just randomn like Vicky's 5U lmao
What understand is he can have a element by making these little animation when he charge and appear wings of different colour, if we look we see sandalphon use his adoken and lunche the same projectile but with a different element (fire and wind).
with belial he charge a red wing before blocking and his blades have a fire effect for exemple.
I'd assume the elemnt change is 5U and u can use it in neutrla but laso after doing certain moves or so.
What i'm curious about is if you can choose the element or if he cycles through them in order.
He's looking sick though.
He might be strong
10:26 I think you can tell by what sword he's carrying. So the U skill didn't use it up because he's still carrying the fire sword. Maybe?
Those are likely weapon skins. I've just double checked in-game and a few Seraphic weapons are already in, namely the Gauntlet of Uriel (Beelzebub), as well as both Sword of Michael and Valorblaze (as a set for Lucilius). Since Sandy is from the same story line, it looks like they reserved the Seraphic weapon skins for the angels (which is a shame cause Vaseraga would be really cool with the Scythe of Belial or Darkherald)
@Arkiro27 you might be right. Looking back through the trailer, he's using a ton more weapons than he's using elements.
I imagine his 5u is going to be putting on an element, and it might swap somehow? But the SSBA idk if it's an install or him putting on wings and shooting the laser is just the beginning of it. Also is the sheathe move like Mistfiner? He sheathes the sword and can move around by teleportinf in it. But I'm so excited for him. He's my favorite Granblue character, and I finally have a main in the game. I can't wait to go 0-2 at EVO with my boy!
They've been cooking!
Air dash gang
Sadalphon: the last airbender
I assume that the elemental change will be implemented by using the U button + a directional button
Pressing U + a directional button will allow you to choose an element. Example: 4U is Fire, 5U is Earth, 6U is Water, 8U is Wind. He could still have the generic 2U sweep that everyone has with this system.
Alternatively, they could just make 5U give you a random element. I would love to see this, but it probably wouldn't happen since Sandy is a serious boi, and we already got the goofy RNG with Vikala.
Elemental install to alter his projectile properties
Copying Belial much? lol
Also the Lucifer wings (pure white) is just a SSBA
