Absolutely phenomenal recap. I skipped all the cutscenes as I started bozja waaaay after my friends and needed to catch up to run the raids with em. But I really wanted to know the story and this video was amazing. I'll probably rerun the story for fun at some point but this was a treat to watch. Great job!
One thing I would have mentioned is that Diabolos was essentially killed in the HW A-raids. It’s presumed that being a voidsent, his aether was dissipated indefinitely, not unlike ascians. However, the vessel Diabolos Armament being attuned to him and the anger he felt towards the WoL presumably made her presence hasten his reconstitution. It makes for one of the most hype battles in the game IMO, and the scene after when The Queen sacrifices herself again felt so satisfying.
Dude I just discovered your channel. I started playing right before 5.3 and hit endgame before 5.5, but I rushed through a lot of these raid/side stories because I was so hyped to get raids unlocked. I just finished your Eden video and stopped halfway through this to say THANK YOU for doing these. They're clear, consise, informative without going off the rails, and you're enjoyable to listen to. So I know this is an older video but it's new to me... had to say thanks for these!
You're extremely welcome! Your appreciation for my work is 1 of the things that keeps me making content. Glad you enjoyed it and I hope I can continue to provide quality content for you in the future.
Thank you for this video xD I just sent it to a friend that has yet do Shadowbringers but wanted to know about the "Save the Queen" lore. Was the only video worth the view & covers just what she needs to know!
So glad to come across this video, I took my time watching the cutscenes for the MSQ to understand the main story, but I admittedly did some cutscene skipping for things like the Ivalice raid so by the time I finished ShB and started going into Bozja/Zadnor for endgame content I was completely lost on what was going on. The Resistance grinding has been wearing me out, but I must say that the general musical themes in these zones are quite badass.
Grinding the weapons and resistance rank was time consuming to say the least, but the music did help a lot with that. Honestly the music in Gangos itself gave me The Witcher 3 vibes. In any case I'm glad my video was able to help fill in the gaps for the scenes that you skipped and welcome to the channel 😀.
I was pleased to find this video given so many scenes from Bozja are missing from the Unending Journey and your telling of events is quite nice. On the whole though, given recent tweets from Matsuno saying Dalmasca has basically been liberated off screen and the story is over I can't help but feel that many of the events were forced to create drama with the Blades being highly underutilized as characters. Which isn't to say the story was bad, it's definitely a war story that fits the state we find Bozja in, it just didn't reach the potential I feel it could have had whether because of the pandemic last year or Matsuno needing to narrow the scope of the story late in writing it or executive meddling since Matsuno is a guest writer or something else or a combination of all three we'll probably never know. But of all the stories in FF14 Bozja is the first I want a do over on, not to give everyone a happy ending, but to just tell the story on a grander level I feel like it was meant to have.
I can certainly understand your feelings. When I heard the news I was highly disappointed because I was certain they would have us go to Dalmasca in the next expansion at some point so this story could get a bit more fleshed out. The devs have been known to listen closely to the fans so it is possible that if enough of us show interest in this particular story they may do more with it. But as it stands I feel there's a lot more that could have been done.
@@ChroniclerofLore From what I hear the story was not well received by the Japanese audience but since I can neither read or know someone who can read Japanese I cannot verify. A redo is no doubt out of the cards though even if others share my opinion, I just wish I could have gotten to know the Blades through something other then the Field Guide which a lot of players likely didn't get drops for or care to read until after the Blades got tempered. Such a waste of potential.
Very much so. Especially considering how despite hours of farming I'm still missing a few field notes which is a bit annoying. I am not well versed in Japanese either so I have no knowledge of the news on their end sadly.
Yo EXCELLENT work my dude!! Like many others I skipped over the cutscenes just to level my alt jobs fast but I still wanted to know the story behind this place. You did an amazing job summarizing it! Channels like yours deserve WAY more credit!
I'm currently listening to your videos while making G4 Tinctures to sell on the market. This is a great way to learn the story while doing some form of progress in the game itself! Thank you so much for this work. I tried hard to get into the story on my own time rather than in the game since it required heavy playtime in front of the PC which I just can't do. But reading the thin text while I do anything else is impossible for my brain to do even though I love to multi-task. Your videos make it so much easier. I love the way you speak eloquently while inputting some quips here and there to make it not only easy to read the story but interesting as well. Seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for helping me ease into these giant-ass side stories before Endwalker arrives!
You are certainly welcome. To experience all of the story takes a whole lot of time, which a lot of people don't have, so I figured I'd cover the stories in a way that people could consume when they have time because time shouldn't be the thing that makes people have to miss out on these great stories. I'm glad my work is able to help you. Thanks for the support 😀.

You're welcome. It took me a while to find a balance between the music and my voice, but I think I've finally gotten my settings right on later videos.
Dude I just gotta say I love your narrative commentary; it really is nice to get the story's explanation but also hear what you have to say about character motivations and how you agree or disagree with how parts have been handled. I've really been enjoying the stuff I've been binging here.

I literally used a fantasia pot and turned myself into Mikoto. Had her exact glamour and everything. I'm hoping to see more of her in future stories. The SB raid story is pretty rough for anyone whose not a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics so I'm glad I could help you skip through some of those very long cinematics lol.
Well as for the tempering thing yeah he’ll even If SPOILERS G’raha said so in 5.4 he said that it will provide the soul but no scour to the flesh so yeah. And wow did G’raha foreshadowed hard there xD
@@ChroniclerofLore I loved your line about "the oppressors wanted the right to oppress". Which as much as I love hrothgars and Bozja, was a sad fact. Good on Basaljen for adopting old bozja and garlemald declarations to mitigate or even completely stop the ability for anyone to be oppressed. We know that the story doesn't end there as we saw at the end. I hope they continue on with Dalmasca. Maybe make that where we start our EW relics?👀
Unfortunately I'm not sure if they're planning on continuing it. They gave it a "conclusion" with Gabranth's field note which I'm really hoping isn't the actual end.
Great video and explanation =), as for the story... I was expecting some throwback or explanation about Ultima in Eorzea, maybe more exposition about auracite, or even a crazy connection between Ultima, Ultima spell and the origin of the void (as it was auracite the responsible for the flood of darkness that created the void) but Diabolos???...it was meh =/ maybe in the next expac
Honestly I'm hoping they were saving the juicy bits to go along with the other weapons that were found and taken to Dalmasca, but we will have to wait and see what they decide to do. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for the support.
My main complaints about this and eureka is that it's so grindy to do (and that this had its actual ending hidden in a lore entry instead which...yknow makes sense due to covid probably cutting dev time short)
All in all i hope they eventually do a sort of liberator of dalamasca questline which could be just a dungeon and a trial and not a whole area like bozja
Despite how much I hate the Timeworn and DR grind for weapons, I enjoyed Bozja. But I heard they discontinued it. How is everything tldr solved then after this 'off screen' as I heard it was?
They basically ended it all with Noah Van Gabranth's field note saying that Lyon killed him because he didn't like being blamed for what happened in Bozja then he set the whole castrum on fire. With their leader dead most of the legion surrendered to the resistance. But the body was so badly burned that people don't actually believe Gabranth was actually dead and Lyon and his allies are still out and about plotting. That's how they ended it just in case they decide not to go back to Dalmasca, but they left it open to where they can probably depending on player feedback.
They showed more relics that were on par with the Save the Queen sword too. They definitely need to expand on that lore. Ending it with a little bit of text is not the way to go for a story like this.
