The hikari orchestral version that they used in the smash reveal trailer will always, without fail make me tear up a bit. The perfect blend of Utada and Yoko that truly transcended beyond the games while still keeping it's soul.
Simple and Clean - Orchestra Instrumental Version- with the 3D Intro is peak. And the Secret Endings always have great songs and are one my favorites, as "Fate of the Unknown", "Another Side", or "Secrets of the Night"- well, this is 3-in-one actually. Another Side with Somnus and Dearly Beloved. Everytime I hear it, i got chills.
The fact that their official playlist of kh songs is over 17 hours long shows how much commitment they put into their games and music. It is incredible

Never played a Kingdom Hearts game, but after Sora was added to Smash, I've been a huge fan of the character. By extension, I've been introduced to the soundtrack. Simple and Clean makes me ASCEND every time I hear it.

I freaking love Hearts As One. Take two already great character songs that feel like they’re about sadness and defeat, then combine them and alter them into a song of triumph. Now if only the fight where it’s used was longer so I could keep listening to it in context.
I did the same thing growing up, putting in a game just to watch the opening. But I always did it with the opening for Final Fantasy X-2, because I loved it so much.

Glad Vector to the Heavens made the cut. It's the best final boss theme in the series imo, and honestly feels underrated just for the fact that most people haven't played the game. I think Musique pour la tristesse de Xion deserved a mention too, since Vector to the Heavens is literally Xion's theme which we hear so many times throughout the game. Sort of like The Other Promise from Roxas's theme.
My top 3, exlcluding stuff already on your list: 1: Night of Fate - this was the song that got 10-year-old me invested in the first game, and by extension, the series. 2: Master, Tell Me The Truth from BBS. Pivotal moment in that games story, and the way it plays off the setup made by Future Masters in the game's intro is just *chef's kiss*. 3: Link to All from 3D, but mainly for its use at the end of Unchained X. In a way, its a track that lonks together the key points from a lot of the side-games, and I respect it for that.

Simple and Clean will never not be the most energetic and hype emotional roller coaster in music history, Traverse Town will always be my home, and the Master of Masters theme has absolutely floored me (especially since it’s the same theme as the organization theme that you’re talking about right as I’m writing this 14:22 WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN???).
Honestly I was so expectant of the Other Promise to take the top spot (I don’t dislike it but when everyone sings its praises it gets old) But when those iconic electric guitar notes flew in I was immediately pumping my fist in the air. Absolutely goated picks I approve
1. Lazy Afternoons 2. Traverse Town Theme 3. Bounce-O-Rama (KH2) with the Melody Of Memory Dearly Beloved being a close 4th spot The osts in this series are top tier but the slower and moodier or more over the top poppy ones in particular are next level catchy and atmospheric.
My top three in no particular order and my reasons why. 1. Master of Masters theme: i ended up liking this one because i would of never expected Yoko Shimomura to make a song so chaotic but have harmony in it. It has so many emotions in it like sadness, chaotic happiness, chaotic heroism, and when the piano hits; sounds like utter madness. Like someone is losing sanity and trying to hold on to it. Regardless of me saying "happiness and heroic" to describe it... it's totally a I'm NOT a good person vibes and gives you a sense of fear and anxiety; almost horror game vibes. It's so fitting for a character we know little to nothing about. As someone once said: is this person even human? 2. Young Xehanort theme (KH:DDD ver.): I've personally never liked the lasor sound effects in other versons except for this one were there is none. Another reason is for how the fandom got tricked into thinking it was "our theme" through story reasons. But it was just Nomura trolling us.😅 Also love the violet part were it sounds like its in control slowly starting to lose it and then bam, back in control and owning it. 3. A Fight to the Death: i like the energetic and dread it gives you until the Dearly Beloved bit comes into play giving you a sense of hopefulness and encouragement. Like 'look how far you've gotten sence you heard the tital screen and decided pressed start to begin your adventure.'
KH made me an Utada fan and I have been following their music for over 20 years now. Needless to say, four out of my 13 picks would have to be the theme songs (heck, make it 8 if you count the Japanese versions - which I think some are better). Other than that, I love Dearly Beloved (all of them lol), Destati, The Other Promise, Vector to the Heaven’s, Sora’s Theme just to name a few off the top of my head. I also really love the orchestral medleys that play during the credits of each game. They’re so fun! Kingdom Hearts has some of my favorite music in general. Yoko Shimomura and Utada Hikaru have made some true masterpieces.
1. Vector to the Heavens (Data Xion Version): The theme of my favorite character in Kingdom Hearts as a whole and her remix in Re:Mind is just fantastic 2. KH1 Hollow Bastion World Theme: The most iconic world in KH1 and the best exploration theme (even though the Battle Theme is just as iconic) 3. Night of Fate: The song that signals the dark start of Sora's adventure when the Heartless attacked Destiny Islands.
Top 3 soundtracks: 1. Riku's Theme specifically from KH2 2. Hollow Baston's theme specifically from KH1 3. Darkness of the Unknown from KH2 it captures facing the battles up to the main/final boss of the game quite well! ^^

You guys read action fiction? Whether comic or novel? They come with fight scenes. And when it comes, I just love to play KH battle themes over them. Adds so much the immersion. And the especially intense fights, I play the especially intense songs like A Fight to the Death (KH2), Dark Domination (KH3), Forza Finale (KH3), etc. I still do it to this day.

There are different moments that I play KH songs for lol: • 13th Struggle, at work (when its a “short staff” type of day lol) • Chains to Bonds, for when I finally get to see my closest/best friend😭 • Darkness of the Unknown, for *Anytime* that I am driving because its unpredictable how people will be driving at the moment
Top 3 favorites... That's kind of hard to narrow down. So I'll point out my 13 favorites, and there's no particular order to this. 1) Dearly Beloved (KH2 being my personal favorite, the X Back Cover version is my second favorite) - It's a very iconic song of the series and whenever it's a calm moment, night, or just on the beach, I would play the song just to clear my mind of the bad things I didn't like of the day. 2) A Fight to the Death (OG KH2, not final mix) - The original version has this feel that builds and builds up to the climax of the battle and the choir is a nice touch making it feel like this is the beginning of the end game. Final Mix is good too but not as strong as the original in my opinion. 3) Aqua's theme (both her theme in BBS and her Anti Aqua rendition from KH3) - Aqua has it pretty rough in the series, and her theme of sadness is heard in the theme song. The Anti-Aqua version really drives home the point where Aqua has reached a low point and is in need of saving and it's time to help her out of the darkness. 4) Lazy Afternoon (OG KH2, not final mix) - It's a very cozy feeling theme that feels like you're at home. Final Mix feels a little weaker compare to the original (which is how I feel for about a good amount of KH2's final mix soundtracks. They're good but not as strong as the originals). 5) Riku's theme (OG KH2, not final mix) - It's a theme that sits with me as I at times feel like Riku given how he's done some regrettable things and is looking to right the wrongs, and I done some things I shouldn't have done and look to right the wrong. 6) Defense of the Virtuous (KH3) - It's a cool boss theme, I recall hearing this from Marshmallow's boss fight in Arendelle and it was time to fight back against the trouble maker himself. 7) Age of Prophecy Field (KH3) - It has this sense of mystery and sorrow that something degraded overtime. Here's something interest I know from this, when I was watching How to Rewrite Kingdom Hearts (a series I recommend watching and like to imagine as a personal head canon to an extent), it was given to represent Xehanort given his obsession to save Kingdom Hearts. 8) Missing You (OG KH2, not final mix) - You ever have lost someone or haven't seen them in a long time? Well somethings I get the feeling from this music piece and it really drives him the point from it's name alone. 9) A Day in Agrabah (OG KH2, not final mix) - I'm personally a sucker for some Arabian like music. Shamar's Day and Night themes from Sonic Unleashed and Ares Island's 7 Mvt tracks from Sonic Frontiers for example. Final Mix takes some of that vibe away for full orchestra which, not bad, I like for each world to have something a little unique to them. 10) Hikari (KH1) - This theme gives the feel that you're about to embark on something grand and epic as it's the start of a new journey into something you never experienced before. 11) Scent of Silence (KHCoM) - You ever have those moments where you need a moment to yourself when you need to think to yourself, or just have some inner doubts on your mind? Well it fitting to me as I'm one of those people who needs a quiet environment to think straight or have some self doubt to work on. 12) Fantasia Alla Marcia for Piano, chorus, and orchestra (KH2) - This song acts as the end of the journey you went through and it's gives satisfaction for overcoming the challenge in the way to reach the end. 13) The World Within (KH 0.2AFP) - This theme during Aqua's trip in the Dwarf Woodlands in the Realm of Darkness gives of this sense of mystery and creepiness as you're caught up in a strange situation you need to get yourself out off while looking into the dark secrets along the way.
Cavern of Remembrance Simple and clean Sanctuary Dearly beloved II Shoutout to other favorite themes: destiny island, vector to the heavens, sacred moon and the 358/2 day’s version- mystic moon, hollow bastion, darkness of the unknown 3&4, link to all, night of fate, treasured memories, traverse town, Neverland sky, world map from 3 and birth by sleep, etc.
So it's way too hard for me to list just 3 but i think i can do 5 Passion (Orchestral): The first time i heard this track was for the 2.5 announcement trailer and that impression sticks with me every time i hear this song. I still hear and see the moments they used in the trailer but even without that, this song sends chills down my spine every time i hear it. That transition from the opening jingle into the rest of the song is just incredible and the rest of the song holds that power throughout The Other Promise: This track is probably the most tragic in the series and it helps that it's from my favorite boss from KH2. I'm a sucker for a good string piece and the piano throughout the track just hammers home everything Roxas went through. Easily the saddest and most beautiful song in the series to me. Shoutouts to Hearts as One (which i will always refer to as "A Promise to the Heavens") for taking this and the other big candidate for most tragic theme, and changing/weaving them together to form one of the most triumphant themes in gaming for my favorite moment of KH3 Night of Fate (specifically the original KH1 version, not the 1.5 remix): This song is probably the most underrated IMO. If i were to describe this song as a feeling, it'd be "Fight or Flight" because it steers your emotions towards Sora's emotions during the Heartless attack on Destiny Island. You don't know what's happening and all you can do is fight your way to your friends or run straight through them. I think the 1.5 remix loses out on some of its impact due to the way it got remixed. The wind instruments constantly shift but that piano keeps droning as a throughline for the entire track as if to say "You're scared and confused but don't forget why you're here. Find your friends, then worry about the rest" 13th Dilemma (Siax): you know, i didn't know i needed a metal Kingdom Hearts song but man am i glad we got it. The way that guitar just wails away as the song reaches the end of the first loop makes this probably the most intense boss theme and gets me pumped and ready to kick some ass Forza Finale: I think this is objectively the best song in Kingdom Hearts and it's subsequently one of my absolute favorites. This is a song that i never skip when it's on my playlist and it's by far the most epic/grandiose boss theme in the series. The bit in the Darkness of the Unknown section with the strings and the chorus just going ham on the melody just before the song loops is peak video game music IMO and is up there with "It's time to face your fear", "I am the storm that is approaching", and "Rules of nature!" for iconic moments in video game songs
Only 3? Man, that's incredibly hard and I am sure as I'm done I will be like: "Bro, what about song XY?" Battletheme? Scherzo di Notte from KH2 PS2 version. Visiting Radiant Garden as Sora and trying out Valor Form to this banger just completely blew my mind. World theme? First Flight from KH3. That one really suprised me. Always loved Gumi Ship flights and that one had this kind of innocence, of nostalgia that I felt at my very first Kingdom Hearts. Dearly Beloved Version? Kingdom Hearts χ. This was a tough one. Loving KH2's version for nostalgia and MoM for it's jazz-y-ness just as much, this one had this one aspect, the other 2 couldn't ever have: I shared it with so many other players while the game was still playable. Coming online every day and experiencing this title more as a part of the game than just a player was just different. Cheers to everyone who were with me at that time.
I do love Sora’s Theme song a lot! I just feel so energetic! The slowed down theme of Sora’s theme has to be one of my most played along with Sanctuary from the entire series!!! Dearly beloved from KH2 with the ocean waves. Nostalgic and I played it to fall asleep at night and to study with when I wasn’t playing the game. Another Song I listen to a lot is traverse Town. It’s comforting and makes me happy. This just leaves me feeling like I need to expand my own Kingdom Hearts taste in music! But I truly enjoy the fan edits and remixes that have come out over the years as well! It molded my addiction to listening to hours of UA-cam songs by fans. And yes, mostly remixes of Utada! This was a ton of fun to listen too!! ❤ I even really loved a fans edit to sanctuary where they played the song backwards. I listened to that a ton when I was little! And the messages within the song made so much sense. Haha And a new Avatar!!! Nice!! That little animation bit with Sora was so cute! 😂 I can never get over Sora saying, “What a Hag!” Haha That part of Namine and Sora gave me so many butterflies as I have a huge crush on Sora❤
My top three from kingdom hearts, Dearly beloved (Any version because I can't just choose one), the 13th struggle is one of my favorites as well (specifically the Larxene one as well since it really shows its speed and intensity.), Sanctuary is still one of my personal favorites, It's honestly what made me a fan of kingdom hearts (I even played KH2 first).
Only picking 3 tracks as my favorites was surprisingly difficult! But here we go. 1. Darkness of the Unknown Cheating a little bit because it’s a song in three radically different movements, but they all have the same name. Xemnas is already one of my favorite bosses in gaming and this track is a large part of it. Each section perfectly the atmosphere from slicing buildings to fighting flying Heartless and the final laser flinging showdown at the end. Absolute perfection. 2. Sanctuary - After the battle / Orchestra I don’t need to explain this one. It’s a perfect capstone to one of my favorite games ever made, taking the bombastic opening and making a subdued yet fulfilling credit anthem. Special shout out to the orchestral version done for the CD release of KH2’s soundtrack. Makes me cry almost every time I hear it. 3. The Other Promise Roxas’ boss fight is my favorite boss in all of KH so his theme becoming a battle theme is just about perfect. It perfectly matches the tone of the battle. When the track swells, you can feel the Roxas’ struggle. It’s also just great background music. It’s calming but with just enough energy to keep you engaged. Could you tell I like Kingdom Hearts 2?

My top three songs have to be The title opening for KHlll (I think it’s an orchestral version of Don’t Think Twice.) it was my gateway into a Kingdom Hearts hyper fixation. The battle theme for Pirates of the Caribbean world. I love the way it starts with the Bum Bum Bubum Bum! Don’t think twice. I love the lyrics, the melody, the sound. Just chef’s kiss.

The Kingdom Hearts OST inspired me to join the New Jersey Gamer Symphony Orchestra, which plays music from video games like Bloodborne, Tetris, and Civilization. Our next concert is in a few weeks, we're going to play Fantasia alla Marcia from KH2 and I'm so hyped ❤
My Top 3 KH songs (not counting the vocal songs, because that’s way too easy) are Rage Awakened from KH2, The Afternoon Streets from KH3, and Wave of Darkness I from KH0.2, no contest. If I ever want to push my limits at the gym, reminisce with friends, or go hardcore in any boss rush, these are my respective choices.
A Fight to the Death AND Showdown at Hollow Bastion in the same list? BASED AF. it's hard to say for sure where they stand in my list of favorites but I do think they're two of the more underrated KH songs out there, and it's great to see them get some more recognition (I'm still salty about A Fight to the Death not being in Melody of Memory) narrowing down a list like this would probably take me several hours at minimum, so instead I'll just mention Fate of the Unknown, Hearts as One, The Silent Forest, Lord of the Castle, and Tension Rising as a few tracks that weren't in this video but would probably show up somewhere in my own top 13 list and as much as I love the emphasis of the guitar line in the 2.5 HD version of Lazy Afternoons, the one from Re:CoM is always going to be my favorite version of that track. something about that harmonica part just hits different (god there's just so much good music in this series)
Very solid list, i love all the songs you included! One i would have added to the list would’ve been Alice world’s battle theme 16:28 the name of the song is spelled wrong, it should be “L’Oscurità dell’Ignoto” and means the darkness of the unknown
I couldn't pick a top 3, but I can pick 3 songs that definitely make my top 13 right away. Vector to the Heavens Darkness of the Unknown (specifically the second part) Edge of Existence Outside of that, it would be difficult choosing between all of Utada's songs, most of the boss battle themes (especially KH2), all of the character themes, Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town's themes, AND of course the GOAT... Swim This Way (sarcasm, in case it didn't read that way). There are too many good songs to choose from, and for us KH fans, that's a fantastic problem to have.
My top 3 No particular order for me, either: Guardando nel Buio (Ansem's boss theme in KH 1) Keyblade Graveyard (Specifically from BBS final mix) Darkness of the Unknown (All three movements really should be experienced as one cohesive track, in my opinion).
Not enough love here for Sacred Moon. Maybe it's because I put so much time in 358/2 but it's probably my personal favorite song for both relaxation and putting pep in my step. Vanitas' theme is another favorite for how hard his fight was in BBS, and for how good it felt to absolutely stomp him without getting hit in KH3. 13th Struggle may be my 3rd favorite because I just love the Org so much. My top 3 are 1.The other promise/Roxas theme 2.Vectors to the heaven/Xion theme 3.Dark domination/ KH3 final boss theme It really is a tough choice about this OST considering most music's or battle theme's are about action and climate, KH is more focused around emotions and these 3 draw most emotions out of me at the moment. I mean if someone said they didn't cry or at least felt anything during moments the first 2 tracks, their stinking liars Roxas having all those promises to uphold but lack strength do to it Xion having issues with organization especially after learning who's she ment to be and what price there is for it And Dark Domination especially after Remind gives more emotions mostly because the stakes are higher, its not just about saving the universe, but also saving Kairi while she finally debiut as a force to be recon with that keyblade together with Sora

The hikari orchestral version that they used in the smash reveal trailer will always, without fail make me tear up a bit. The perfect blend of Utada and Yoko that truly transcended beyond the games while still keeping it's soul.

I freaking love Hearts As One. Take two already great character songs that feel like they’re about sadness and defeat, then combine them and alter them into a song of triumph. Now if only the fight where it’s used was longer so I could keep listening to it in context.

Glad Vector to the Heavens made the cut. It's the best final boss theme in the series imo, and honestly feels underrated just for the fact that most people haven't played the game. I think Musique pour la tristesse de Xion deserved a mention too, since Vector to the Heavens is literally Xion's theme which we hear so many times throughout the game. Sort of like The Other Promise from Roxas's theme.
My top 3, exlcluding stuff already on your list:
1: Night of Fate - this was the song that got 10-year-old me invested in the first game, and by extension, the series.
2: Master, Tell Me The Truth from BBS. Pivotal moment in that games story, and the way it plays off the setup made by Future Masters in the game's intro is just *chef's kiss*.
3: Link to All from 3D, but mainly for its use at the end of Unchained X. In a way, its a track that lonks together the key points from a lot of the side-games, and I respect it for that.

The osts in this series are top tier but the slower and moodier or more over the top poppy ones in particular are next level catchy and atmospheric.
My top three in no particular order and my reasons why.
1. Master of Masters theme: i ended up liking this one because i would of never expected Yoko Shimomura to make a song so chaotic but have harmony in it. It has so many emotions in it like sadness, chaotic happiness, chaotic heroism, and when the piano hits; sounds like utter madness. Like someone is losing sanity and trying to hold on to it. Regardless of me saying "happiness and heroic" to describe it... it's totally a I'm NOT a good person vibes and gives you a sense of fear and anxiety; almost horror game vibes.
It's so fitting for a character we know little to nothing about. As someone once said: is this person even human?
2. Young Xehanort theme (KH:DDD ver.): I've personally never liked the lasor sound effects in other versons except for this one were there is none.
Another reason is for how the fandom got tricked into thinking it was "our theme" through story reasons. But it was just Nomura trolling us.😅
Also love the violet part were it sounds like its in control slowly starting to lose it and then bam, back in control and owning it.
3. A Fight to the Death: i like the energetic and dread it gives you until the Dearly Beloved bit comes into play giving you a sense of hopefulness and encouragement. Like 'look how far you've gotten sence you heard the tital screen and decided pressed start to begin your adventure.'
KH made me an Utada fan and I have been following their music for over 20 years now. Needless to say, four out of my 13 picks would have to be the theme songs (heck, make it 8 if you count the Japanese versions - which I think some are better). Other than that, I love Dearly Beloved (all of them lol), Destati, The Other Promise, Vector to the Heaven’s, Sora’s Theme just to name a few off the top of my head. I also really love the orchestral medleys that play during the credits of each game. They’re so fun! Kingdom Hearts has some of my favorite music in general. Yoko Shimomura and Utada Hikaru have made some true masterpieces.
1. Vector to the Heavens (Data Xion Version): The theme of my favorite character in Kingdom Hearts as a whole and her remix in Re:Mind is just fantastic
2. KH1 Hollow Bastion World Theme: The most iconic world in KH1 and the best exploration theme (even though the Battle Theme is just as iconic)
3. Night of Fate: The song that signals the dark start of Sora's adventure when the Heartless attacked Destiny Islands.
Top 3 soundtracks: 1. Riku's Theme specifically from KH2 2. Hollow Baston's theme specifically from KH1 3. Darkness of the Unknown from KH2 it captures facing the battles up to the main/final boss of the game quite well! ^^

This really brought me back to when I was on my big KH craze. It’s been a while since I played these games and there are so many memories here.
Top 3 favorites... That's kind of hard to narrow down. So I'll point out my 13 favorites, and there's no particular order to this.
1) Dearly Beloved (KH2 being my personal favorite, the X Back Cover version is my second favorite) - It's a very iconic song of the series and whenever it's a calm moment, night, or just on the beach, I would play the song just to clear my mind of the bad things I didn't like of the day.
2) A Fight to the Death (OG KH2, not final mix) - The original version has this feel that builds and builds up to the climax of the battle and the choir is a nice touch making it feel like this is the beginning of the end game. Final Mix is good too but not as strong as the original in my opinion.
3) Aqua's theme (both her theme in BBS and her Anti Aqua rendition from KH3) - Aqua has it pretty rough in the series, and her theme of sadness is heard in the theme song. The Anti-Aqua version really drives home the point where Aqua has reached a low point and is in need of saving and it's time to help her out of the darkness.
4) Lazy Afternoon (OG KH2, not final mix) - It's a very cozy feeling theme that feels like you're at home. Final Mix feels a little weaker compare to the original (which is how I feel for about a good amount of KH2's final mix soundtracks. They're good but not as strong as the originals).
5) Riku's theme (OG KH2, not final mix) - It's a theme that sits with me as I at times feel like Riku given how he's done some regrettable things and is looking to right the wrongs, and I done some things I shouldn't have done and look to right the wrong.
6) Defense of the Virtuous (KH3) - It's a cool boss theme, I recall hearing this from Marshmallow's boss fight in Arendelle and it was time to fight back against the trouble maker himself.
7) Age of Prophecy Field (KH3) - It has this sense of mystery and sorrow that something degraded overtime. Here's something interest I know from this, when I was watching How to Rewrite Kingdom Hearts (a series I recommend watching and like to imagine as a personal head canon to an extent), it was given to represent Xehanort given his obsession to save Kingdom Hearts.
8) Missing You (OG KH2, not final mix) - You ever have lost someone or haven't seen them in a long time? Well somethings I get the feeling from this music piece and it really drives him the point from it's name alone.
9) A Day in Agrabah (OG KH2, not final mix) - I'm personally a sucker for some Arabian like music. Shamar's Day and Night themes from Sonic Unleashed and Ares Island's 7 Mvt tracks from Sonic Frontiers for example. Final Mix takes some of that vibe away for full orchestra which, not bad, I like for each world to have something a little unique to them.
10) Hikari (KH1) - This theme gives the feel that you're about to embark on something grand and epic as it's the start of a new journey into something you never experienced before.
11) Scent of Silence (KHCoM) - You ever have those moments where you need a moment to yourself when you need to think to yourself, or just have some inner doubts on your mind? Well it fitting to me as I'm one of those people who needs a quiet environment to think straight or have some self doubt to work on.
12) Fantasia Alla Marcia for Piano, chorus, and orchestra (KH2) - This song acts as the end of the journey you went through and it's gives satisfaction for overcoming the challenge in the way to reach the end.
13) The World Within (KH 0.2AFP) - This theme during Aqua's trip in the Dwarf Woodlands in the Realm of Darkness gives of this sense of mystery and creepiness as you're caught up in a strange situation you need to get yourself out off while looking into the dark secrets along the way.

So it's way too hard for me to list just 3 but i think i can do 5
Passion (Orchestral): The first time i heard this track was for the 2.5 announcement trailer and that impression sticks with me every time i hear this song. I still hear and see the moments they used in the trailer but even without that, this song sends chills down my spine every time i hear it. That transition from the opening jingle into the rest of the song is just incredible and the rest of the song holds that power throughout
The Other Promise: This track is probably the most tragic in the series and it helps that it's from my favorite boss from KH2. I'm a sucker for a good string piece and the piano throughout the track just hammers home everything Roxas went through. Easily the saddest and most beautiful song in the series to me. Shoutouts to Hearts as One (which i will always refer to as "A Promise to the Heavens") for taking this and the other big candidate for most tragic theme, and changing/weaving them together to form one of the most triumphant themes in gaming for my favorite moment of KH3
Night of Fate (specifically the original KH1 version, not the 1.5 remix): This song is probably the most underrated IMO. If i were to describe this song as a feeling, it'd be "Fight or Flight" because it steers your emotions towards Sora's emotions during the Heartless attack on Destiny Island. You don't know what's happening and all you can do is fight your way to your friends or run straight through them. I think the 1.5 remix loses out on some of its impact due to the way it got remixed. The wind instruments constantly shift but that piano keeps droning as a throughline for the entire track as if to say "You're scared and confused but don't forget why you're here. Find your friends, then worry about the rest"
13th Dilemma (Siax): you know, i didn't know i needed a metal Kingdom Hearts song but man am i glad we got it. The way that guitar just wails away as the song reaches the end of the first loop makes this probably the most intense boss theme and gets me pumped and ready to kick some ass
Forza Finale: I think this is objectively the best song in Kingdom Hearts and it's subsequently one of my absolute favorites. This is a song that i never skip when it's on my playlist and it's by far the most epic/grandiose boss theme in the series. The bit in the Darkness of the Unknown section with the strings and the chorus just going ham on the melody just before the song loops is peak video game music IMO and is up there with "It's time to face your fear", "I am the storm that is approaching", and "Rules of nature!" for iconic moments in video game songs
Only 3? Man, that's incredibly hard and I am sure as I'm done I will be like: "Bro, what about song XY?"
Battletheme? Scherzo di Notte from KH2 PS2 version.
Visiting Radiant Garden as Sora and trying out Valor Form to this banger just completely blew my mind.

That one really suprised me. Always loved Gumi Ship flights and that one had this kind of innocence, of nostalgia that I felt at my very first Kingdom Hearts.
Dearly Beloved Version? Kingdom Hearts χ.
This was a tough one. Loving KH2's version for nostalgia and MoM for it's jazz-y-ness just as much, this one had this one aspect, the other 2 couldn't ever have: I shared it with so many other players while the game was still playable. Coming online every day and experiencing this title more as a part of the game than just a player was just different. Cheers to everyone who were with me at that time.

Dearly beloved from KH2 with the ocean waves. Nostalgic and I played it to fall asleep at night and to study with when I wasn’t playing the game.
Another Song I listen to a lot is traverse Town. It’s comforting and makes me happy.

Each section perfectly the atmosphere from slicing buildings to fighting flying Heartless and the final laser flinging showdown at the end. Absolute perfection.
2. Sanctuary - After the battle / Orchestra
I don’t need to explain this one. It’s a perfect capstone to one of my favorite games ever made, taking the bombastic opening and making a subdued yet fulfilling credit anthem. Special shout out to the orchestral version done for the CD release of KH2’s soundtrack. Makes me cry almost every time I hear it.
3. The Other Promise
Roxas’ boss fight is my favorite boss in all of KH so his theme becoming a battle theme is just about perfect. It perfectly matches the tone of the battle. When the track swells, you can feel the Roxas’ struggle. It’s also just great background music. It’s calming but with just enough energy to keep you engaged.

The title opening for KHlll (I think it’s an orchestral version of Don’t Think Twice.) it was my gateway into a Kingdom Hearts hyper fixation.
The battle theme for Pirates of the Caribbean world. I love the way it starts with the Bum Bum Bubum Bum!

The Kingdom Hearts series has one of the best soundtracks! The music is what attracted me to the series in the first place and i will never forget that! Hmmmm pick a top 3 now thats hard!! 😅❤🏆🤔❤️

The Kingdom Hearts OST inspired me to join the New Jersey Gamer Symphony Orchestra, which plays music from video games like Bloodborne, Tetris, and Civilization. Our next concert is in a few weeks, we're going to play Fantasia alla Marcia from KH2 and I'm so hyped ❤

Rage Awakened is ELITE
My Top 3 KH songs (not counting the vocal songs, because that’s way too easy) are Rage Awakened from KH2, The Afternoon Streets from KH3, and Wave of Darkness I from KH0.2, no contest. If I ever want to push my limits at the gym, reminisce with friends, or go hardcore in any boss rush, these are my respective choices.
A Fight to the Death AND Showdown at Hollow Bastion in the same list? BASED AF. it's hard to say for sure where they stand in my list of favorites but I do think they're two of the more underrated KH songs out there, and it's great to see them get some more recognition (I'm still salty about A Fight to the Death not being in Melody of Memory)
narrowing down a list like this would probably take me several hours at minimum, so instead I'll just mention Fate of the Unknown, Hearts as One, The Silent Forest, Lord of the Castle, and Tension Rising as a few tracks that weren't in this video but would probably show up somewhere in my own top 13 list
and as much as I love the emphasis of the guitar line in the 2.5 HD version of Lazy Afternoons, the one from Re:CoM is always going to be my favorite version of that track. something about that harmonica part just hits different

Outside of that, it would be difficult choosing between all of Utada's songs, most of the boss battle themes (especially KH2), all of the character themes, Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town's themes, AND of course the GOAT... Swim This Way (sarcasm, in case it didn't read that way).
There are too many good songs to choose from, and for us KH fans, that's a fantastic problem to have.
The Re:Mind version of Vector to the Heavens.......I need that injected in my veins.

Maybe it's because I put so much time in 358/2 but it's probably my personal favorite song for both relaxation and putting pep in my step.
Vanitas' theme is another favorite for how hard his fight was in BBS, and for how good it felt to absolutely stomp him without getting hit in KH3.
13th Struggle may be my 3rd favorite because I just love the Org so much. They're all great

A few of my favorite songs from Kingdom. Hearts are soras theme nomines theme. The other promise from Kingdom, hearts 2 final mix, and 3. The dream eaters theme in kingdom hearts Dream drop distance. And working together from kingdom hearts two and three
My top 3 are
1.The other promise/Roxas theme
2.Vectors to the heaven/Xion theme
3.Dark domination/ KH3 final boss theme
It really is a tough choice about this OST considering most music's or battle theme's are about action and climate, KH is more focused around emotions and these 3 draw most emotions out of me at the moment.
I mean if someone said they didn't cry or at least felt anything during moments the first 2 tracks, their stinking liars
Roxas having all those promises to uphold but lack strength do to it
Xion having issues with organization especially after learning who's she ment to be and what price there is for it
And Dark Domination especially after Remind gives more emotions mostly because the stakes are higher, its not just about saving the universe, but also saving Kairi while she finally debiut as a force to be recon with that keyblade together with Sora

Pretty much all of the boss themes go HARD but xemnas got my favorite.
I.... Omg i can't just choose three its too difficult but after a lot of though i choose:
3- Dread of night: i dont know this track feels off, scary and omnious but i love it for the concept of the fights this track comes from
2- Another side battle : i was just crying during 358/2 days when this played i was stuned
