      I have seen a comment from yours a long time ago responding to a question if a chicano (or a mexican I forget) should come to japan and you said no with sincerity. I am just curious as to why, I don't think you have an exact video talking about your experiences as a chicano in japan, so I'm just curious 🙂

    Hey what's up. Long time listener. Glad your back ! I'm from East Los. CA. Yup I've been stared down many times. I had a work trip to Georgia. Wow, a lot of people stared like they never seen a Mexican. 😎. Video request. Can you do some street food videos? Love your Videos ! FYI : You've done a great job raising your son !! 😎

      Yup…When being stared at for so long…all your life is a common thing…you don’t even trip when you see it even in other countries. Let’s face it. Although we all come from different corners of the world, when visiting another place, you’ll always be…stared at. It’s normal.
      I’ma try to do that food thing for you…and thank you 😊🙏🏽

    Definitely caught a few people staring while in Japan, but not too much. I'm pretty standard white guy so it was only ever just a few stares and looking away when noticed, nothing bad or uncomfortable for me.

      Everybody stares. I do it on occasion. Try to avoid doing it with famous people tho.😉

    ❤❤ brother, I worked in jeffersonville indiana, Mishawaka indiana, elkhart indiana , Shepardvill Kentucky and waxahachie texas 2012 to 2020. I am Chicano Mexican American , the white guys stared at me all the time. When, I would do my tech work, they couldn’t believe a Mexicano could do this. I told them in California , there are millions more like me. Well, I am back home. Downey California To be honest 2000 I had a girlfriend Keiko Harada , she wanted me to move to Japanese with her, I was afraid. You are living my dream. Thank you Brother.. Lowridding is legal in California now. Weekends, I surf at HB pier and then evenings go lowering. Cali Style.

    I get stared at all the time here in the Philippines and it is because I'm foreign.... at first it was weird then I just got used to it.

      Used to get it all the time growing up in Los Angeles. Now I get lonely if they don’t stare. There is a lot behind a stare and as long as it’s innocent, I’m good with it.

      @@MexicanSamurai100 I got stared at when I first moved to LA but that was because I was a non gang affiliated white guy living in south central just around the corner from Compton

    People do stare here, but i do find it to be polite staring - the kind of staring you get in a place like India is next level 😂

      Hence my video , brother. All kids of stares out there. Embrace the polite ones, yeah?😊🙏🏽

    Amen. There is a difference between being racial and being racist. Even a comedianne from Japan said that she can't tell the difference between 2 white people. And, yes, there are places in the United States, where people aren't just White. They are White-White. mhm. Keep up the awesome work, Tino. And, take care.

    • @MexicanSamurai100
      @MexicanSamurai100  5 місяців тому +1

      So true. You’ll only be able to tell the difference through experience. YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES, of course. Stop watching UA-camrs talk about it and go see for yourself, right?😊
      Thanks, fam. Same same😊🙏🏽

    I'm half Indian, back in the early 2000's when my mom took me to India to visit my family for a couple months I was getting a lot of stares. Not because I didn't look Indian, instead it was because I was a fat kid. Back in those days there were not a lot of fat people in India, especially kids. I was getting looks, whispers, laughs, etc. It was a shock for me but I got over it and enjoyed the rest of the vacation. 😅

    • @MexicanSamurai100
      @MexicanSamurai100  5 місяців тому +1

      Stares come from a thousand different reasons and some are of intrigue, curiosity, envy and just bad thoughts. No matter the stare… you gotta learn to overcome them…and wherever they come from….and as long as they don’t turn nasty, just welcome them or ignore them. People are always gonna stare at others who are different. Can’t be helped. Just accept it and move on, right? We learn how to do that through experiencing it. 😉

    I was working on my home in Hikone and I noticed old ladies, men would stare at me like I was some type of zoo animal exhibit. Of course I would say hello & neighbors would get Hawaiian Chocolates I would pass out but knew that being in the Country I was probably the 1st gaijin they have seen.

    • @MexicanSamurai100
      @MexicanSamurai100  28 днів тому

      Tis why they stare. We’d do the same thing back home, but it’s just that we’re on the receiving end of it…and that makes it weird.
      I love being stared at until it becomes something offensive. Then we have a problem😊
      Thanks for the comment, homie😊🙏🏽

    Like yourself, I have been stared at my whole entire life (61 years old) and for the most part it has not bothered me. I think most people are curious and mean no harm, but this is not always the case.
    I've been to Japan 10 times and the Japanese stared, but not in the same way people in the American south did in the 1980s.
    May I ask you a question, have you ever been stopped in Japan by a Japanese national and spoken to in Spanish ? It's happened to me three times and their Spanish was better than mines.
    Aloha
    Roberto

      58 years old here, brother… and we grew up in a different time. We actually recognize what discrimination / racism is. Of course, they have it here in Japan as well…and sometimes it’s so in your face you don’t know how to react, but you kinda learn where that straight out of”in your face” racism comes from. It’s way different from the states for sure.
      In Tokyo, yes.
      Down south here in Kyushu? That’d be a no.
      Thanks for stoppin’ by, brother 😊🙏🏽
