Flosstube Extra: Decorative Pin Tutorial
Вставка

- This is a quick tutorial to show you how easy it is to make your own decorative pins for your cross stitch finishes.
Supplies used:
E6000 glue
Beads with a fairly small hole
Corsage/Boutonniere Pins (at least two inches long)
I like the pins put out by Dritz that offer both white & Black heads. You can find them online or in a lot of the big box stores: bit.ly/41jbUbm
I've also used this set of pins from Amazon, though the ball head is larger: amzn.to/3KvemVm

Thanks for sharing this. I just bought some corsage pins at Michaels. A friend of mine has a whole bunch of beads, so we're going to play. 😊
Oh, I just love that crow finish. I just purchased that magazine last month to get that pattern and the nevermore. Love the frame idea too. I'll for sure have to hunt for that one this fall. 1 2 3 4

Got lots of that E6000 and different beads already just need to get some of those corsage pins. I can remember my Grandma seemed to have lots of those type of pins and wore them in her hats. Of course, she is no longer with us. I have a feeling she would have had of lot of different ones to work with. Thanks once again Helen for showing us how to make these.
Have fun creating!

Now I’m ready to make some fancy pins!!! I’ll be heading to Hobby lobby later today, lol. Thanks, Helen.
Wow!!! So much simpler than I ever thought. Now onto collecting fun beads!!! Thank you!
I love it when crafts are easier than I thought. 🤣
Yes, finding the pins is definitely the biggest problem, absolutely! 👍 Great tutorial, TFS!
I love this.
Thanks Helen.. I've looked at the pretty pins that people show in their finishes and never thought about making my own. The glue tip is a great one. I've also used the Gorilla Glue with the brush.. and mine have done the same as yours. I went through three tubes before I decided it wasn't worth it, but I wasn't sure what else to use.
I was disappointed that glue dried out so quickly, because it really was easier to use the little brush.
Thank you Helen for the tips. I have been trying my hand at making pins. It was great to watch you work.
Thanks for the tutorial! Now, I want to go bead shopping!
Thank you so much! Going to be doing this for my finishes. You are the best!❤
They're really fun to do!

I’ve also made a few similar counting/decorative pins with long pins and beads that I had. Yours are all very pretty and I especially like the watermelon slice. 😊

I've never been there! I may need to check them out!
Fabulous tip!! Thank you Helen :)
Nice and easy! Thanks.
Looks like fun. I have a lot of left over beads, so I will definitely try your method 😊

Finding the right pins was the challenge for me too 😉
Thank you for sharing! I have the supplies but wasn't sure how to do it. Let the fun begin!!!
You'll be hooked! 😊
Did u get ur pins from amazon im in the uk so amazon is my go to company. What are they called?
You are such a good teacher. Thank you. This is likely a dumb question. How do you use counting pins? I assume to count stitches but not sure how it works! Do you count your stitches very much? I’m sure you have to be very careful that cats don’t get into your stuff! 🐈⬛🐈⬛🌺
Emmy is into everything!! I don't use them for counting, but I know some people put a pin in after 10 or 25 stitches if they're doing a long row.
Thank you for sharing your tutorial great video 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Wow 😂
🌻🌻🌻
Helen, great tutorial! Can you share where you got the clay buttons, I’m in search of sand dollar ones for our EGA meet together in December. Thank you, 🐇
The watermelon beads came from JoAnn. I was there today and didn't see any sand dollars, but they may have some closer to summer.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I wanted to take some to a retreat.
Did you mention where you got your bead holder
I just picked that up at JoAnn.

Thank you
I have been wanting to make pins and so glad that you did a video. What size or length did you use for the pins? 2"?
I would say a minimum of 2 inches. The pack with black and white are 2 inches. The Amazon ones are longer.
@@helend.flosstube Thanks
Thank you for a great tutorial - where can we find cute beads like the watemelon?
The watermelon beads are from JoAnn. Actually most of the beads I've found are from the strung bead section of either JoAnn or Michaels. 😊
@@helend.flosstube Thank you so much - will have a look - I am in Canada so my only choice is Michaels 🙄lol
Can these be used for sewing?
