Hey Margret good video. We have survived life’s ups and downs and have reached over 60. For me over 71 let’s give ourselves a pat on the back and say. Well done 🎉

As I said before, I’m loving your recent videos, ie Stoicism! Self talk is difficult to change, as is being stoic, but I keep trying! I’ve been dealing with a very sad and troubling family issue. I’ve decided that worrying will make me sick and I’m 77 with recent open heart surgery. I have forced myself to let it go and not to worry about it. Tough, but doable!Thank you Margaret!❤❤

Negative self-talk is hard to change. I admire your finding a way to do it and wish you a speedy recovery after your surgery. My problems seem petty compared to others.

Margaret, thank you for your interesting conversations. I have a husband with an auto immune disease and we have been quarantined for 4 years. To say I feel isolated is an understatement. Thank you for being a lifesaver, during a very challenging time.😮

Whenever I start to experience thoughts of anxiety about something that I cannot control, I say this to myself over and over again, until I feel a sense of calmness: “Stop worrying about what could go wrong, and start feeling excited about what could go right”…….and this really does help me to shift my thinking in a more positive direction.

Thank you Margaret for this guidance! I have always been a nervous driver, especially on the freeway. I listened to car accidents (claims adjuster) as a profession for a few years and it made me a very defensive driver. While driving, I look at other drivers, and they look like they are enjoying themselves! Also, I figured if my 90 year old Dad can handle driving on the freeway in LA, so can I. I reFRAMED my mindset from expecting an accident to enjoying the journey, especially long ones, and wow, what a difference!!! It changed an anxious experience to one I am relaxing enough with that I can enjoy it!

Self talk should be a regular part of our life when you live alone. It keeps me grounded and that means I can deal with things differently.

There's an old joke that 99% of the terrible things we worry about don't happen. Different terrible things happen! Just joking, yes let's talk to ourselves kindly.

98% of worries are groundless. Dont give catastrophising rent-free space in your head. Futurising is futile. The future isnt here.
I think anxiety causes the negative ruminating, rather than the other way round.
