I'm kind of curious whether one of the Allies of Sol will send their emissaries to help rebuild the Consensus.

It's been a year....and I still recall breaking down into tears while setting next to him. I grew up on Destiny, ever since Alpha. And his voice has always been Lance.
If I'm emotional like I am tonight I'll even just sit by Zavala for a while at the tower.
fuck man, he was 1 year out from seeing the end with us. He had plenty of other shit lined up too.

I was there since alpha… when I heard the voice… I knew who I wanted to become… a Titan.
When all my friends slowly gave up playing… I was the last one who kept going, after all these years.
I grew up with this game.
Seeing the news about his passing hit me like no other…

Love that even that Lance voiced a fictional character in the shape of commander zavala, we still come together to pass our condolences to him and his family. It was only Thursday that he was doing fine and looked healthy, but died a day after. Lance was only a few notable ppl that I have truly mourned for as of today and thought it was all A hoax at first. I'm sad to see him go and really hoped to meet him in person in my lifetime at a huge comic con. Things will never be the same for us ever in the destiny community, and not only did I know Lance before destiny but in other media's as well like the John Wick franchise, Quantum Break, & many more! I'm utterly devasted that he's gone but I'll never forget him from this day forward. We love you, Lance, and may you rest easy.

Every time I had a bad day I knew I could boot up my Xbox, get into the game and hear his voice, comforting me, yeah, sounds kinda ridiculous, but Zavala was and is more than a character for me, he is a brother and knowing that the voice that always cheered me up is gone, destroys my soul. Lance, you were more than a voice actor, you were an inspiration and we will never forget you. Eyes up Guardian.

I didn't think it would mess me up this bad hearing about this, but his passing happened so suddenly... I've kept up with this series for the past decade, and his voice was absolutely the most iconic. To say he'll be missed is a gross understatement, but like Bungie said in the official statement, it's nonetheless true. I think my #1 regret was that I never got the pleasure of meeting him in person. Rest in Peace, Lance.

They should host an event in-game for Lance. It would also be cool to see those that attend get a title like "Sentinel of Zavala" or something like that to honor Lance's legacy.
Even to this day, when I visit the tower, I always go and pay my respects to Lance. I may be a hunter, but he's the reason iv grown a huge respect for Titans

I remember I was in the middle of the vexcaliber mission when I got the news from a member of my fireteam.
I've been a titan main since 2017 you could say it was because of shaxx or lord salidan but I really liked zavala.
Sure he was a bit of a meme but. He was a great stoic leader we even got to see him grow as a character in season of the haunted. A man full of hope, grief and spirit.
And It was all thanks to not just the bungie writing team but most of all to Lance for giving a outstanding performance as the commander of the vanguard.
I wish lances family the best, and I wish the commander a peaceful eternity.

Since 2014 ive been with this community which quickly became more like a society of dedicated players. Lance as Zavala made me want to keep playing even when the game went through rough phases. Im actually crying because i grew up with all of this. This game has brought me so much joy. Its like no other, especially the players. I hope Lance is truly in a better place. He left behind something i know he's proud of. Thanks for an amazing decade.

I noticed this year’s Guardian Games, there were many flowers; many bouquet meshes around Zavala. You can even see the flowers trailing up to him when you walk to where he is. I feel this was a nod from Bungie paying respects to Lance Reddick. Maybe this was the same last year. I didn’t notice. But I know this: Reddick is loved in the Destiny community. We will Never Forget.
Last year we all just played Titan in tribute. That and hang around the memorial like this

Gamers tend to be a divided bunch but when a beloved character or VA passes there are no consoles no pcs no borders only love and mourning
This is was the first time in years the community put their differences asside and paid heavy respects to the one and only commander, the last time the community came together was when cayde-6 passed.
Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

I stood there next to Zavala for a hour, titan banner out and stood ever guard with many people coming and going the crowd fluctuating or decreasing, yet I just stood there for a hour still then left and did some strikes.
Today is such a saddening & grim day….
I have no words. It's a loss . Nothing else.
Guardians, we're all gathered here in this moment to follow up on the passing of a, of a Great Titan. A Titan who was wise as time and strong-willed as a mountain. Who had honor for his friends & allies and had the will. The Traveler may have been known for life and light, but Zavala was the one who showed us that when he led us through the Red War to Lightfall. The Witness may have won, took the light from us, but I say he made one fatal mistake, he messed with the wrong planet!
Commander Zavala, rest in peace. Tell Cayde, that we said, hello and we miss him. Goodbye, good friend

I haven’t logged into D2 in 4 years and this still made me tear up. Such respect for the passing of a great actor and human being.
He was one of the best commanders I have ever seen before in my life. On Saint Patrick’s Day, he hopped the twig and is now resting. I will never forget the “excuse me” joke. That one was triumphant.

Now, this line holds a different meaning, to me any way. Before, it told us to be vigilant, but now it feels as if he's telling us to raise our lowered heads from grief AND be vigilant. If anyone deserved some rest, it was Commander Zavala. Farewell, Commander.

This is what makes gaming so wholesome. Sure, we're people who mess around and say some outta line things, but we do deeply care about those who've taken part in giving us amazing games to play, amazing memories. It was wholesome to see the TF2 community pay tribute to Rick May, and it's just as wholesome to see Destiny's community pay tribute to Lance Reddick, rest in peace.
That is one of the overall redeeming qualities of the gaming community in general. We all know when to be quiet and show the respect people have earned.

I haven't come back to destiny in a long while. I was thinking about hopping back on, and then Reddick died. I couldn't get on. I finally mustered up the courage. And he's just standing here. He's. Just here. I've been sitting for the past hour.
I think we will hear his voice a last time next season....

Must be a weird feeling, hearing the voice of someone for 10 years, someone you've never meet before, and suddenly that person is gone. It's a strange but unique connection Destiny players have with Lance.
Most don't think about it when it's from an old piece of media, or other types of modern media, sure you get sad and pay your respects, but for a live game, were many hardcore Destiny players most likely hear his voice every day since Destiny launched, you don't see that a lot. Its gotta have an impact on the player. Actors leaving the role is one thing, but nothing like this.
