This should be the career of the Lend-lease aircraft.
Agreed. The P-39 would be the best choice if available, that was a very popular plane with the Soviets. Failing that, the P-40.
Go to the 731st to fly P-40s since you were flying lend lease aircraft with the Hurricane. Might as well keep the theme. Plus you will like the .50 cal/12.7mm guns. If not that, then any squadron not flying Migs is good with me. From the looks of the poll results so far, I'd say your followers are largely in agreement.
What's letting your gunnery down, both ariel and straffing, is the lack of rudder pedals
Twist rudders on joysticks are utter god toffee
I suggest the La-5, excellent dogfighter below 3000 meters. It suffered from short duration flight time in the air. The could stay in the air for about 40 minutes due to fuel limitations. Max Speed was about 648 km/h at 6,250 m. Range was 765 km.
Service ceiling: 11,000 m Rate of climb: 16.7 m/s.
LaGG would be my suggestion, but continuing in a P-40 unit would be logical.
The cannons are more fun, you only have to tag a plain and down they go. The lack of ammo is not an issue. Given them a go.
P40 and or Lend-lease Aircraft
Go for an LA 5 unit - that'll be interesting. Fast and manouverable at low to medium altitude - you really don't do anything at high altitude anyway.
Get in that I16!
advice, when you face the Focke Wulf FW190 try to attack them from the left and from the engine seat because that is their weak point. Greetings from Argentina.
The Germans setup a dummy airfield and you fell for it 🤪. Nice landing 👍 Go Yak
MiG3 would be cool
The Yak-1 has 2x 12.7mm MGs and 1x 20mm cannon, all in the nose, so no worries about convergence distance. Pretty good ammo load. I'd go for the Yak.
You're all the way south, by Stalingrad. You should check the map toward the north. I'm sure you'll find more Hurricane units when you get closer to Moscow.
Small hint: MG's fire low caliber solid rounds. Cannon rounds are over twice the size and contain high explosives The reason you get so much less ammo is because cannon rounds are so much bigger and heavier...and by extension WAY more effective
In other words, you can put hundreds of MG rounds into an enemy aircraft and barely inconvenience it... but connect with just two or three cannon rounds and the aircraft in your sights is going down, probably missing a wing or its tail.
They're more difficult to use... you really have to be sure of your shot because you get so much less ammo, but I've got 'Ace in a flight' on multiplayer servers a few times using cannons...I've never managed it with only MG's because they simply don't do enough damage.
Try cannons...you won't regret it
"Cementer!!" - IL2 ,ground attack for a change, you can go back to fighters later. See how good you are at avoiding fighters. :D
Don’t be afraid of the low ammo count on the cannons. They deal far more damage, far quicker than the .303s.
Not first 😳and my vote is that you go to the MIG squadron
I think the IL2 will be the best
Has to be a transfer to the 437th to fly the LA-5 Taff! :D
He just *can't* handle the small quantity of ammunition for the cannons.
He. Just. Can't. Do It! :)
I vote La-5. It looks at least as capable as what you've been flying, and comes with mounted cannons instead of machine-guns, so it forces Taff to make the switch.
I'll head over to the polling site and vote.
Oh, well. The ones in the lead would be fun to watch, too. :)
It would be pretty okay to see P-40s in turn-fights.
p 40
I voted in the poll for the P-40 but now I feel it's better you join a La-5 squadron, that's a very nice plane to fly and fight in and no .303 rubbish only cannons so we'll hopefully see you downing more huns
If you move onto the next campaign you can upgrade to a Russian spitfire squadron in kurbun.
LA-5, or if you can go to a future plane , the Yak9 or 9T.. Yak 1 could be fun too. Think the Mig does not have enough firepower. Just my opinion. At least you will not have to use the ,303s which are a great infantry rifle, but not for air combat.
Go for the MIG squadron
vERY GOOD ONE TODAY. GO mIG 3
P40!
It just me or would a Siege of Leningrad expansion be interesting?
Go for the La5s
Very strange that nothing went bang when you shot it all up?🤔 I'd go for Lagg5, not seen many of them being used online, so would be fun to see. 😃
Nothing really went bang because, unfortunately, many of his shots were off the target, and of course, he was using .303 Brownings. Maybe he would have had more joy with some cannons and a better trimmed aircraft? That Hurricane was bouncing around all over the shop!
probable pilot kill. You know, if you had CANNON rounds things might be a little more willing to explode.... I vote P-40E.
A YAK or a Lagg would be different
Lavochkin or P-40
Certainly looked like u weren't doing any damage at that airfield. Very bizarre, I've never seen that before.
destroying stuff has got alot harder and dangerous ,especially trains.
I think you've got to actually hit the target before it will blow up. Those .303 Browning guns are too lightweight to do serious damage to anything and his Hurricane was bouncing around so much that his shots were missing most of the time. What was strange was the complete lack of AAA defensive fire at that airfield.
@@colindouglas7769 i noticed thar too
@@colindouglas7769 he might have switched off aa.
P40 squadron
I think considering he has recently been promoted and has a high kill count Trofim should be given some needed R&R and transfered to a the 57th Guards Squadron over the Kuban in Spitfire Mk Vs
Except that Soviet pilots didn’t like the Spitfire. Mostly because of the narrow landing gear. Soviet mechanics didn’t like it either as it was difficult to repair in the typical front line airfields.
@@timonsolus True, but they didn't really like the Hurricane either, doesn't mean they didn't use them
@@jsmith3772 : They liked the Hurricane more than the Spitfire, although they used the Hurricane more often as a fighter bomber ground attack aircraft than as a pure fighter.
They liked the Hurricane '41 - early '42; clearly better than I-16. Other considerations is that the Spit Vs were old Vs or rebuilt IIs(kinda worn out). The Hurricanes were new and available for LL immediately.
@@mikhailiagacesa3406 certainly not all shared that view: “It was a piece of junk rather than a fighter!” said Klimenko¹ “A MiG might be clumsy at low altitude, but when flying higher I felt like a king. In comparison the Hurricane was slow and unwieldy - its wings were too thick.” Vitaly Klimenko

How long can they milk IL2? Centuries? The flight model was better in 1998 than it is now. We had a real dynamic campaign in Falcon4 running on a 486 for gods sake. This flight model should be used in Star Wars games, not WW2 flight sims. Flying in a vacuum on Earth is not realistic and never will be. On Earth we have air/mass/gravity. This game simulates none of that.
