    I always feel lucky that people like Miriam can be honest and speak freely on tv in the UK and it is concerning that in many countries like the US they would have to cut all her best bits or simply never invite her on and all the American Miriam’s never make it to air in the mainstream.

      That is why the furore over Piers Morgan & Sharon Osborne, and loss of jobs is worrying. We are becoming more censored like the U.S.

      Miriam Margolyes (in Part 1) says 'she couldn't stand Marta Kauffman' , 'dreadful woman,' and proceeds to say why. How is that different to Piers Morgan explaining why he doesn't like someone (having met them) and saying that he doesn't believe something which they had said.
      He was sacked as was Sharon for supporting him. And now Piers is proven to be CORRECT. That is free speech under attack.

      @@Rissa0410Sir Ian was on Graham Norton's and evidently knows Maggie very well. He was relaying to Graham that Maggie gave him strict orders to not imitate her again. He tells this right after he did a very worthy imitation of dear Maggie. Graham then told Ian that he just delivered a worthy imitation. To which Ian became befuddled with a tinge of shock thinking about Maggie's reaction. 😁

    Your comment that Miriam embraces becoming older is well made. The lady is just a tad older than I am, and I feel her attitude is a very healthy one. No matter how much one might "rage, rage against the dying of the light", it is futile to try to ignore one's advancing age. Better to make the best of it. Character actors such as Miriam, plus Sir Anthony Hopkins, Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, etc each prove this.

      Great bit of Dylan Thomas there, I also believe a lot of older people give up to soon, doesn't help when they live in the past, talk to young people, listen to their music, surprising how much it keeps you in touch, you don't have to agree with them about everything but I find young people generally quite interested in what you have to say.

    • @alexrafe2590
      @alexrafe2590 Рік тому +13

      Yes, you realise how true the saying, ‘youth is wasted on the young,’ is when you get older. When you’re young and healthy and your hair is thick and vibrant with natural colour, and growing out of your scalp instead of your ears, your skin is supple and smooth, and your body is toned and works and has stamina, you take all that for granted. Instead you waste that fleeting time preoccupied by self doubt and awkwardness, and worried about what you’re going to do with your life, etc. Then decades later when you’ve lived and learned and are comfortable in your now sagging skin you realise what a fool you were! I had the world at my feet and preoccupied myself with huge issues like would I find a date, and would it be spoiled by a pimple spot on my cheek, rather than the ever increasing number of brown spots on the back of my hands!🙄

    frantically google her to see how big a star she was - anyway i went out front and was standing there watching Miriam getting checked in kinda star struck and she must have sensed me looking at her - all of a sudden she looked up and in the most sexy way possible said "hello" - i nearly fainted - she is always full of mischief that one - love her to bits

    Graham Norton you can say anything and swear (curse) and they are drinking which helps with getting rid of inhibitions. I like watching when they have British and American guests on the same episode as the Americans are always stunned at what is allowed on British TV. She is so funny, the full episodes are so good, these clips don’t do her justice. I have seen them several times and still laugh. Your expressions to the Laurence Olivier and soldier story made me laugh as much as the story itself. So cute that you were essentially speechless 😂

    Omg Joel, PMFSL the look on your face, the jaw dropped open, with the red blushing face. Welcome to the UK lol. Yes getting old means you expect people to excuse you for saying things that many younger are to scared to say. Its very refreshing to hear someone who says Bollocks to being PC and says it as it is. Good on her. I am sure anything you didn't understand show the clip to Will or Ben I am sure they will explain things to you lol. Good video reaction Joel.

    Miriam is & has always been a Bohemian. She's an artist of a very liberal minded type that were probably more prominent in days gone by but added to that she is unashamed & rightly so. She's also very intelligent & well educated. She is very aware of the entertainment value she brings to such shows as Graham Norton's & despite how outrageous she may sometimes appear, she never actually offends anybody which shows how talented she really is.

    Is it safe to say Joel, that you would never hear anything like that on an American talk show?? Surely it would all be bleeped out?? Thanks Joel, that was hilarious.

    She is an absolute treasure. I've ben a huge fan of hers for so many years. She's done a couple of road trips with Alan Cumming that are absolute gold! She also did a show called Miriam Margolyes Dickensian Christmas that's just wonderful.

    Your face watching the second half was great😂😂 you through she was unfiltered in the first half, imagine leaving the kids with her if she was a grandma, how far would you get before worrying about granny's story telling to the kids
