Apparently Miriam became good friends with Will-I-am and they have met up socially since.

The ineffable Margolyes is truly one of the finest deadpan comediennes of her generation, as well as an accomplished character actress. Joel, your generation probably know her best as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter movies, but her rôle in Age of Innocence is what earned her a BAFTA award. The late Queen awarded her an OBE for her contribution to drama, having appeared in over 70 movies, over 50 TV dramas, and over 40 stage plays. She's truly an institution.

Her story about waiting for Laurence Olivier at the stage door could be the funniest thing I have ever seen.
My mother-in-law cleans her holiday house here in Australia. She's even cooks for Miriam and her partner whenever she's in town. Based on my MIL's stories she's just as kooky and crazy as she is on TV.
My partner recently helped re-varnished her floors and she gushed to my MIL how happy she was with the work😚

Yes she has no filter, but is not oblivious to what she says. She says what she wants and enjoys the reactions it causes, she makes people laugh deliberately to simply give joy.

Miriam is brilliant. Totally unfiltered and as honest as she can be, but she's got this vulnerability and innocence about her at the same time...like a sweet old grandma with tourettes. lol.
She's not afraid to talk to the world like you would to your best mates, the most intimate and embarrassing subjects are never off the table with Miriam. This is such an unusual trait of those in the public eye because they're all so afraid of the repercussions...she's not. Thankfully!

The Norton show is great, and Miriam is hilarious.
She lives in Australia now, not all that far from Wollongong where I live -- up in the mountains to the south in a place called Robertson, where "Babe" was filmed. She also did a documentary series called "Australia Unmasked" which may interest you.

Also happy to see that all that alcohol from the livestream and what followed has been quickly metabolized out of your body. Sure, you are young and athletic and can handle yourself but please don’t let us get you into bad drinking habits mate. Do drink a lot of water when having alcohol and try not to mix your drinks. What I mean is don’t mix grape and grain. It’s fine to have say different whiskeys or different beers or different wines, but don’t mix wine and beer for example. And stay away from sweet drinks. I was raised in a family restaurant and used to make cocktails for our tourist customers. No drink left the bar without me tasting it first. And yes, I was an impressionable young boy. Thankfully I am not an alcoholic 🙂

There are some other additional ones with her in it. She is very honest. Graham Norton is fantastic as a host. I feel that you can get away with more on British TV. Some American stars are quite shocked.
American TV is very conservative and strange. Any level of violence seems to be OK yet a wrong word or any level of nudity is taboo. Weird.

Miriam is fabulous! In '68 to '70 i worked in music publishing with her brother Mike who married the fabulous singer and friend of my partner, Anita Harris. Miriam came into the offices from time to time and was SOOooo! amusingly and kindly insulting that I'd giggle my way home, all the way to "Maida Vale" in West London. We all, in the office, pronounced the surname MAR-GO-LISS.
