Something helpful my teacher taught me was OIL RIG which stands for: Oxidation Is Losing electrons Reduction Is Gaining electrons. Hope this helped in any way :)
I trust you more than my chemistry teacher- I understand absolutely nothing for 3 weeks and the week before the test I start watching you and Khan academy on x2 speed non stop and get my A 😂 every topic. God send life saver... HERO!!!
Thank you for all of your videos. They have become a part of my daily routine while studying for my Chemistry class. I am a Biology major, and Chemistry is the only class I've ever had trouble with! I have brought my grade up a lot with the help of your videos. I highly recommend your videos to everyone!
i owe him my life XD i still haven't taken my test but i spent two years trying to understand what redox reactions were, and now i finally feel idc how i do on the test. i'm just glad i finally understand T^T
Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a basic Introduction into Redox Reactions in AP/General Chemistry. The problem selections for the Redox/Non-Redox Reactions are excellent, however, I found this topic confusing near the end of the video. I will rewatch this video for clarification. This is an error free video/lecture on UA-cam TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

It's helped me extensively and has taught me what if I'm allowed to say wouldn't have been able to have learned if I hadn't had you as my best teacher.
this is the best channel I have found for chemistry help. your channel helped me with both of my chemistry classes and I got an A in each. thank you so much :)
Excuse me... but why aren't there rules for types of reactions....... like the brilliant insights you have here? Like... I feel like 90% of the confusion in chemistry is the way the text arranges their information. Like, my text intro's all of the types of reactions rather than putting them in the category of Single or Double Replacement and then getting more specific. The second you did that was the second I got it. Like dang... hours upon hours of nonsensical studying.
Gabriella Ijaji 1 second ago you're my savior honestly! Thank you, you have no idea how much you've taught me in half an hour that my professors can't teach in a two hour lecture!
Observing the change in oxidation numbers / lose or gain of electrons is so much simpler . Our teacher split it to 4 sections explaining it using gain/lose of oxygen, hydrogen, oxidation numbers ,& electrons and it just made us all confuse. This is was helpful indeed .
THANK YOU!!! if this channel did not exist I dont know what i would do honestly...I didnt know shit about redox before this...Damn so that is what we were doing in Chem class the other day... THANKS AGAIN!!!
If you want, you can balance it. He's just taking oxidation number into consideration, w which doesn't depends on whether an equation is balanced or not.

2. realize you zoned out
3. rewind
4. rinse & repeat
Just did this.
That’s hella accurate
A little too accurate😓
damn that is so close to the truth its like you watching me

Well said
The Organic Chemistry Tutor will always be the goat.
I learned more from this video in 10 minutes than my entire text/lecture for this unit. Thank you!!!
