Losing is losing, winning is winning. It is shameful to give excuses over and over again.
People comment on the conditions of weather on Mercedes end like it ruined seconds off the lap even though having an advantage due to better performance from the turbo’s because to the cooler weather.
the mercedes is faster in more than 80% of the corners even with wet and cold track conditions, if this wasn't the case the Mercedes would has beaten the record by quite a lot.

You really don't think they've thought of that? This is the best condition for them due to the cold air being good for the Turbo.

£ for £ rrp vrs performance- that OLDER Porsche version goes to show exactly why Porsche is so revered and admired . The new variants of the 911 gt2 or gt3 RS would be faster than this videos time - and it’s not really in the same class of car as the AMG one - personally I reckon the Valkyrie would ruin the merc around the same track while sounding ten times better
You realize that the MR is essentially not a factory Porsche car, even though its parts are "available at the dealer". While being 5x worse to live with on the road. Valkyrie can't even drive 1 mile, let alone set a laptime. Owners literally are stuck with their unmovable cars right now

@c.le: Porsche 918 has 608 hp or 887 hp when rhere's still juice in the battery powertrain. Which there isn't for a full lap around the green hell. Also, a pretty different car altogether and not really designed in the same vein as the One. In fact, even the 991 and 992 GT3 RS's are much more advanced track tools than the 918.

It shows the track conditions more than the car, if you want to talk about incredible you can't leave out the Mercedes black series which also was the production car record holder with the same track conditions as the One.

@@CanyonsCarver Mercedes is not going to spend millions of dollars on R&D only to lose it on a damp track. This is obviously the best condition and time They're not going publish a laptime that they can improve on simply by waiting for the track to dry.

The AMG people crack me up. The AMG One is a hybrid car with F1-derived technology, and 300hp more than the GT2RS and beats it by very little. Porsche engineering. Wait until Porsche makes something like this. And actually, since this is the older 991.2, let's see what the new 992 GT2RS can do. Will likely nip at the heels of the AMG One or even best it.

Reffering to the lap time list of the production cars, 8 seconds is a huge difference. Even considering it is a difference in the top class, even 1 second is a big difference.
