@SkyeStorme When is your wife going to play a whole season of timberborn and you doing the being pretty part 😅 i think she is a pro after watching you for these years maybe do next season like update 5 with my wife playing 😂
Skye please put in a builders hall or two that is manned by timberbots as well as more farms that focus on sunflowers, with bee hives, that is manned by timberbots that way you do not have to worry about injuries. Also dot small bio fuel and catalyst storage all around the towns and roads.
I'm smashin that like button, then putting this comment, and then proceeding to watch the film. Good to see you back Skye! I adore your Timberborn series and your ideas! Haven't watch this episode yet, but already I can't wait to see the next one xD
The Great Waterwall Of Beaverland is looking good! Although, at this point I feel like pointing out the fact that when you first built the aqueduct you mentioned putting in pumps to bring water from the bottom reservoir up into the aqueduct to make it a closed loop. Either you've forgotten about doing that entirely *or* you might be planning on putting them in once the Waterwall is done. I'm hoping it's the latter of the two. Also, the Waterwall is going to bring so much green to the map during the wet season. Imagine what could be accomplished with all that extra fertile land.
I'm curious, why not deepen the massive reservoir? The end of the river one, anyway.... I mean, widen the whole thing ,so the depth at the reservoir is at max depth across the whole thing
I think it's because usable water. Water beyond a depth won't be useful without extra infrastructure. Since the last reservoir is meant to hold water for pumping/drinking, there's no point adding depth without adding extra pumps at lower levels. Same with the second reservoir, it was meant for irrigation. If the reservoir gets too deep, plants will still dry out. Since this method is balancing the water, I think we're fine. Oops, I misunderstood your comment. That would be more usable water, yes. But unless we need water, I don't think it's necessary.
Pumps only go down 4, so it would be a waste of a pump to go down 2 more. Tbh you could probably halve the size of the reservoir and it would still work just fine
What would you do with the smallest map in the game Skye? Lots of vertical building? I think it would be very interesting to see what you could do! Wishing you and picture a wonderful day!
While the building is going on, you should start beautifying the colony. perhaps a factory/industrial-style district area and a farming district area would look lovely, as well as mining, water pumping station on platforms in the bottom reservoir, a fun area with lidos and carousel like a fun pier, and a huge "city" area with apartments and such. Just an idea.
I would love to see you use the new aqueducts to green up the entire map. Reforest the entire map, with trees of every variety and crops. I know there gets to a point where lag of a huge build makes the game unplayable but until them, I am enjoying your build
@@jase_allen It's not. If there is such a limitation, then It's a limitation of the build engine they built on top of unity. Unity doesn't give two rats where you place an object in the scene. This is a developer issue, not an engine issue.
I would love to see Skye do a hard mode series on the diorama map Or a series with the iron teeth (those come with their own list of problems to figure out) would be interesting 🤔 🧐
Hello Skye. Amazing series. One suggestion is to go around and remove the paths that are no longer used by the beavers, for example on the wooden aqueduct and around the main reservoir
It might be a good idea to run power buried under the path inside that aqueduct just in case you need power on the perimeter in the future? Just throwing out the thought before the whole thing is done. Also, are you going to divert a side channel from the aqueduct with a couple of waterfalls to fill the big lake in the middle where the other metal scrap is? The beavers could use a pretty retirement vacation destination to go to now that the bots are taking all the jobs. 😂
Hey Skye, loving the series! Why not use large piles/warehouses? Considering the grandeur of your terraformong, your medium pile dissapears during the night which causes your bots to go back to your excavator piles.
since your project is going so smoothly, i suggest you already begin stocking up the resources for the numerous water wheels starting now. i mean, most of your workers should have nothing to do anyways, so just put down another large sized storage section somewhere and watch the numbers go up while you are waiting.
So happy my favourite UA-camr is back. When this is done please stay with us! Would love to see you do IXION cos I know you can succeed! OMG you need to do frostpunk 2! Pleeeeaaaase????
I love this idea & i'm looking forward to seeing what you achieve with the water wheels, my v4 Helix map has had plenty of issues with the ww not working as they should, in some cases some with 0 output, so I'm very eager to hear what you have found out so I can rectify the issues on my end :) You're a great educator, thank you so much!!
I've done a built with heavy automation on a different map. I but the excavators as high up as i could the used the pits created for gravity batteries once they had bottomed out on the lowest level of terain. each battery gives me 21,000 HP. makes good use of the massiver deep useless holes after the dirt mining is done. So I have a 'battery pack' 2 by 4 (excavators wide and long) that can supply a rerlentless amount of power. Each pit fits 8 batteries around it. With them all connected with power shafts it is a thing of industrial beauty. Loving the series.
@SkyeStorme yeah I know, but visually it stops on the base layer of terrain. So I made a rule for my map that I had to make a new excavation when it got down that far. This is when I got the giant battery pack idea.
13:00 I would add a set of pumps to that resevoir, and reintroduce it to the system - just pump the water back to where the water comes from at the start of the wooden aqueduct.
Something I didn't realize until yesterday. I built my bot factory and power plant to drive them. Well I put two gears, two plank, and two smelters on top of 6 bot factors and they recieve power from the building below. Didn't know if you knew that??!!
Skye you should swap builders with timberbots and make sure hauler posts are set to 10. Maybe a good idea to have potato farmers and sunflower farmers as bots too. That can bottle neck catalyst production otherwise.
Hia Skye! I miss watching your FrostPunk videos, I remember it was a real vibe watching then though out the pandemic and sooner or later I finally went though them all! Any news yet for the FrostPunk 2 yet? If so let me know! Hope to see more of Frost punk content soon! We miss you!
Im wondering why the natural "river" running from beyond the blockage by the second village, to the megadam isnt being used. Surely there would be less terraforming, and more pooling ( creating fertile areas)
Is anyone gonna tell him that the barrelbots need CATALYST in order yo function optimally? (Biofuel is just used for production, which doesn't make all too much sense)
Sky. You can have beaver bots working in the science labs because then they will learn too much and create the beavernator and the uprise of the beaverbots
It's possible Skye is about to install some kind of "hostile beaver raids" mod and the "aquaduct" is actually just a protective wall. You never know 🤷♂
Skye last playthrough was update 2 not update 3 how he says . Last one he played with those wierd shape warehouses, they changed them in update 3 on update 4 was for iron teeth mainly.
Great episode man! Are you going to pump from the large reservoir up to the first aqueduct or did I imagine that? That would be sweet though, imagine the power of creating an endless water source.
One of the reasons you're getting lag is that you've got so many levees. The game has to create each item separately, and oddly enough, the entire land is one item. So using terrain blocks instead of levees does help your fps.
So oddly enough you mentioned putting levees on top of platforms, and the game wont let you do that. Using mods you actually can do that, but unfortunately the game doesnt know how to handle water flow over those levees. What happens is that the water just falls through the levee like it wasnt there. My guess is that theres code to tell the water simulation that this particular square (where ever that happens to be) is solid up to this height, and putting in a platform interupts that so anything on top of that square is considered not solid and so the water flows right through it.
Perhaps it might be a good idea to slow down on the new bot production? It will save both power and fuel consumption while many of them remain unused anyway...
Bots making bots. Are you familiar with a small movie franchise called Terminator? Beavnet is in full swing I see. What could possibly go wrong. But then again, I do realize there is quite a large market for artificial beavers. >.>

blowing up the ground where the excavator is was a mistake, now you have less groung to extract. best are high hills so you excavate longer

wow you are back, begin to worry, hope everything is ok for you

I dont think so. Dont remember trying it. I think someone would have if it was possible.
No. Not possible.

Indeed :)
Make a giga dam instead of an aqueduct
Use ur beavers for simple tasks and make the robots operate machinery

15:00 penguins of madagascar?
Monty Python ... "Splitters!" :)

why not use the underground storages which takes up less space and holds more
