I have an idea for a challenge you could do: Start a world in indev hell as your first stop, then convert the world to infdev (expanding the lava outwards and keeping the generation underground) and playing updating a few updates onwards for a few days with only one catch, in infdev -> until alpha you need to keep a layer of stone on the highest y level (brining it higher as you update), while you see how much you can achieve! Magma blocks absorb light so you can light them up by placing glowstone near and then removing it, it will glow like a glowstone Always be saturated so you can regenerate during any fight OR flee it! Always have 1-2 stews that are ready to be eaten Keep gold and sticks around and make tools on the go, instead of using wooden ones (ONLY if diamonds arent an option) For walls in midgame use nether bricks or nether brick slabs instead of netherrack for their blast resistance Use off-hand to hold blocks esspecialy when digging, since lava is inside walls, ceilings and floors! Use off-hand to hold a shield because you're invincible to direct attacks!!!! Also pretty much all mobs walk faster towards you that you walk away from them backwards (while facing them) so most secure way to have a direct fight is to Hit and just wait for it to approach you and then hit again
@@mexoc yeah I never heard of it so I looked into it and it was added to the block in a 1.10 snapshot which also affected other blocks like a Lit Furnace that did the same thing and it then mentions a bug tracker post that is marked as resolved and 1.14 changelogs mark it as fixed. So either it wasn't intended or they changed their minds about it.
Zombie Piglins/pigmen inherit most of their code from zombies and one of the artefacts of this is that they can spawn reinforcements when hurt and thus spawn zombies instead of piglins/pigmen. This only occurs on hard and can spawn in any light 0 block from 7 to 40 blocks away in any direction more than 7 blocks from the player.
Your content is pretty innovative for everything you had in the nether. Usually when people make a video I thought it was going to be a mostly talk and little build; switch cut with the camera only to another part from the same build. This was not that at all this was dedication and innovation for what you had. Keep up the good work.
Just a suggestion, whenever you aren't transitioning through bigger events (example, going from wandering around to baiting ghasts into shooting you) and instead you're cutting up parts of the same task you should make it so that instead of an instant transition its a fade instead.
i really love how much effort you clearly put into this video without turning into something overproduced. it feels just like watching old mc youtubers so many years ago, but with the ideas and technology from the modern day. your commentary is wonderful, too :) i'm able to play minecraft myself while watching, and it feels just like talking on the phone with an old friend. i hope you have an absolutely spectacular day, you really deserve it!!

The base you’ve made is really cool all things considered, and maybe next time you could beat the wither since you have access to it already and then maybe the dragon later on
I love the chill narration, the old textures, and the builds! It’s so neat seeing someone actually enjoy building something that isn’t an insane fantasy house or something. Sometimes a gravel and soul sand spiral is all you need!
I loved the old nether. I miss it. The new nether kinda is disappointing. I loved the zombie pigmen. They were neutral unless you attacked them. The nether was my favorite place in the game. The piglins attack you unless you wear gold. I kinda hate them. The only thing I like about them is that you can trade with them. Lol. XD **Edit -- Also, liked the way the nether used to look more than its current appearance. It had a charm to it the new nether doesn't have. Idk how to describe it. Ofc, "classic" texture packs help a bit.
1:the old netherrack was DISGUSTING. Looked like raw human flesh combined with organs and beans or something. 2. Zombie pigmen are still neutral. 3:kinda agree with you on piglins but you can avoid them easily 4:old nether was bland, and not fun to play. You couldn't do anything except search for fortresses. 5: "lol XD" is so outdated :)
@@brontokoli 1. Ikr? It was so cool looking! The new stuff just looks kinda blurry and uninteresting in comparison. 2 & 3. Yeah, but it was fun to speculate about what hypothetical pigmen would be like. The piglins were cool, but also super disappointing. 4.I liked it that way, though. The new biomes are fine, and fun to explore at first, but I just preferred the old version and had more fun with the old Nether. But, ofc, kinda just my personal preference... Lol. 5. I don't really give a dam whether lol and XD are outdated or not. 😕 Sure, I could type "haha" instead of "Lol", but I've been using it for years now and am just used to it. "XD" is an emoticon and I was typing my comment on my computer. 🤨 😅😂 So, it's faster to right "XD" as the letters are on top of each other, than to right click and scroll through all the emojis. 😅😂 Idk. Also, nostalgia probably factors into my preference of the old Nether, as life was better when I was a kid. Life is kinda lousy as an adult. 🤔 🤷♀️
@@brontokoli Considering it was going to be called "Bloodstone"......yeah, the flesh and blood look was intentional. It's still better for me because it doesn't induce headaches like the new textures do. When they try to go for bland realism to "fit" in the minecraft mold, it just hurts my brain. I dislike most of the new textures, and their half worked "updated" programmer art. I feel like the new artists came in and cleaned house for a blank canvas.......on an already established IP with a set style. A bit disrespectful ngl. And they didn't even bother adding Better Grass. The ONE thing that needed changed they missed out on. One of the best QoL mods out there, and has been an optifine setting for a long while now. That was disappointing, but they gotta play it safe......so they say while adding the phantoms. The old nether was definitely bland. Being Hell, I don't think there's supposed to be anything but boredom as another form of eternal torment. But it was way more of a blank canvas. Great for building especially with dark/goth themes. It wasn't just for the fortress if you were brave/creative enough. But adding netherite would have been cool if it existed back then. But I will say that the Nether Update was needed for far too long, and it is one of the very few updates worth it's weight. Caves and Cliffs, the Deep Dark, and the Villager update have been the only updates worth it since 1.12.2. 1.13 was a trash update that bricked a lot of worlds thanks to their poor implementation of the newer code overwrite. It wasn't bad, but it was not implemented properly, and that is what the update failed on. A couple of my worlds were left behind thanks to this. But at least they finally got around to doing it, even after they got that Microsoft cash flow. They removed Pigmen. It's all Piglins now. I'm guessing a total of 3 people complained that "Zombie Pigmen" wasn't inclusive enough, and that was enough to change them. Kinda unnecessary as the suffix of Pigmen being "men" was supposed to be all encompassing, meaning like how we say "all of mankind". Lol XD aren't outdated. ROFL, YOLO, and Swag are, as well as many others. You used the keyboard smile [ :) ] , which is hella outdated compared to lol. Pot calling the Kettle black.🙂🙃

Update the world > Basalt Brewing stand. You basicly have everything. Also the trades of piglins after update and the nether trees. You already have diamonds, so netherite won't be hard to get. Only restriction is "Once you leave the nether to fight the dragon, no turning back, Thusly no sleeping or gathering materials in the overworld. Yknow, just to spice it up 😊
And here I am struggling to survive in the new nether, constantly thinking "Wow old nether must be IMPOSSIBLE, surely" and almost if on cue, I was proven wrong
The old Nether is harder for this specific niche challenge... Under normal circumstances, you'd already have tons of food and wood and whatnot and it doesn't really matter whether those resources are available in the Nether. But nowadays we also have hoglins and piglin brutes to deal with, skeletons are everywhere, we have to navigate basalt deltas, etc... The modern Nether is much tougher outside of the particular restriction of having to start out there.
Unless I'm misremembering, if you place a door sideways it should prevent zombies from breaking them with the only downside being a pressure plate would slam the door if your face instead of opening it. Love the vid!
Honestly feels like some vague refernce on depression and anxiety, like you start in the nether, gameplay is harder for you than for the rest of the players, but playing and getting out is still doable if you try hard enough. Great video anyways and well done beating this challenge, don't matter the nonsense above, just was inspired by the words at 21:05
well zombie type mobs have a small chance of spawning reinforcements and bc. of a bug they apear as regular zombies not zombie variants and that caused this zombie to spawn
Chickens that spawn as being rode do not give eggs, but you could breed them using Netherwart if you managed to get 2 of them without one of them despawning
I love the authenticity of your gameplay. - It is not some high level detailed building; - It is not oversimplified mega project; - It is not some boosted dopamine machine of amazing discovery after some surreal gameplay. Nah, it's just the Minecraft of our childhoods. The "unattractive" unplanned buildings that comes out of our imagination. It's the accessible Minecraft we've all lived in all of it's simplicity. Very heartwarming, keep up
a few things i would like to say to help you out big time. . . !. This is post 1.9 so you can craft a shield for fighting blazes, protecting from explosions, arrows, etc. 2. if you grab only 12 Cobblestone from the overworld, you can craft a single furnace, and a brewing stand. A Brewing stand would be very very helpful to make potions such as Regen (ghast tear), Strength(blaze powder), Fire Resistance(magma cream), and also stronger(glowstone) or splash version of this. it makes your nether wart useful, that way ;D With the furnace, you can smelt netherrack into bricks, instead of having to mine it all by hand.(coal blocks are faster too) if you really want ot go all out you can turn that into a Blast furnace with three more smooth stone, and five ingots. 3. if you update to 1.16, it will reset your Entire Nether, as far as I know, so you will have to first go to the overworld then update then go back, and second, the main reason you made this video was to prove you can survive in the old nether. 4. Small request--- as nostalgic as the old netherrack is. . . it hurts my eyes. The newer texture was made for a reason LoL
nice builds too :D now do a nomad challenge, travel for at least 2500 blocks in one direction and build another little base, and link it with a pathway to your first one.
Here's a couple tips: 1) Yes, the zombies spawning in the nether are from the Zombie reinforcement mechanic, in fact there are some farms that use this mechanic (Ianxofour has one that you might even be able to build with just wood and iron, though you may have to check on another world). This will give you access to potatoes and carrots, I think. As well as a renewable source of iron. 2) There is a way to stop the door smashers, too. It's a fairly old trick, where Zombies don't know how to smash doors that are already open or in a weird location. So placing your door sideways in your doorway (as if it's already open) and then "closing" it should stop them from breaking it down.
your laid-back narration combined with the classic Nether brings me back to old Minecraft UA-cam before it got hit with hyper-sensationalism and Mr Beast voice everywhere. very cozy and nostalgic. keep up the good work!

Start a world in indev hell as your first stop, then convert the world to infdev (expanding the lava outwards and keeping the generation underground) and playing updating a few updates onwards for a few days with only one catch, in infdev -> until alpha you need to keep a layer of stone on the highest y level (brining it higher as you update), while you see how much you can achieve! I think this has a lot of potential tbh :P
also this was a super entertaining video. you accomplished way more than i thought possible!
I really appreciate it

Subscribed! This was a great video, bringing me back to a more nostalgic age of Minecraft. You managed to take what should've been next to nothing and turned it into quite a lot! I can't wait to see what else you come out with and now I have to Dig Through Your Archives.
i can tell that youre not an expierienced player so kudos for beating this
You should break through to the Nether roof using a giant mushroom (if that glitch still works, that is)
And you should make a chicken farm using eggs
But he can't get any eggs in the nether, the only chickens that spawn (afaik) are ones that are ridden by baby zombie pigmen and chickens that spawn with another mob on them don't lay any eggs.
@@Z38_UShe can bonemeal the dirt block and get seeds to breed them
@@sidneyjung9760 That will work but they have to be nametaged. CHicken Jockeys have a specific tag which makes them despawn like hostile mobs so unless you find two unridden ones next to each other you will have to get nametags
little tip: by placing a door 90 degrees rotated, so when its closed its technically open, zombies wont knock on it, and they cant get in...
Dude this is such an entertainig video!
I'd like to see another 100 days, you could also beat the game to get better gear and tools from the end though.
It feels refreshing and nice to see a minecraft video that isnt about making a giant mega base or the sole purpose being a 100 day video. yes this was 100 days but its refreshing to see a video that just feels like an older minecraft youtube video. no over the top extreme farms, no giant mega base, no mods, no sped up clips, 10/10 video, it gave me a feeling of nastolgia
Magma blocks absorb light so you can light them up by placing glowstone near and then removing it, it will glow like a glowstone
Always be saturated so you can regenerate during any fight OR flee it!
Always have 1-2 stews that are ready to be eaten
Keep gold and sticks around and make tools on the go, instead of using wooden ones (ONLY if diamonds arent an option)
For walls in midgame use nether bricks or nether brick slabs instead of netherrack for their blast resistance
Use off-hand to hold blocks esspecialy when digging, since lava is inside walls, ceilings and floors!
Use off-hand to hold a shield because you're invincible to direct attacks!!!!
Also pretty much all mobs walk faster towards you that you walk away from them backwards (while facing them) so most secure way to have a direct fight is to Hit and just wait for it to approach you and then hit again
FIrst one was a bug which was fixed in 1.14, so that no longer works in the version he is using
This comment is very helpful! THANK YOU
@@Z38_US oh crap, honestly remembered that as a feature
@@BANCLAMOFFICIAL YOURE VERY WELCOME!!
So either it wasn't intended or they changed their minds about it.
the old nether terrain looks pretty good, but the old netherrack texture is dogshit, im glad they changed it
Zombie Piglins/pigmen inherit most of their code from zombies and one of the artefacts of this is that they can spawn reinforcements when hurt and thus spawn zombies instead of piglins/pigmen.
Just a suggestion, whenever you aren't transitioning through bigger events (example, going from wandering around to baiting ghasts into shooting you) and instead you're cutting up parts of the same task you should make it so that instead of an instant transition its a fade instead.
nice advice
I think I might do that! Thanks

i really love how much effort you clearly put into this video without turning into something overproduced. it feels just like watching old mc youtubers so many years ago, but with the ideas and technology from the modern day. your commentary is wonderful, too :) i'm able to play minecraft myself while watching, and it feels just like talking on the phone with an old friend. i hope you have an absolutely spectacular day, you really deserve it!!
This video was a lot better than I was expecting. Your commentary is nice and not over the top, it feels really genuine and not forced.
Lol. XD
**Edit -- Also, liked the way the nether used to look more than its current appearance.
3:kinda agree with you on piglins but you can avoid them easily
4:old nether was bland, and not fun to play.
zombie piglins still exist and they are functionally the same as pigmen
@@brontokoli Agreed. I never really saw the old Netherrack as raw human fresh
i think this is my favorite minecraft video in a long time. just slow-paced, chill, and nostalgic. got me wanting to revisit silver age minecraft versions. looking forward to whatever comes next! notifications on :)
7:21 4 endermen at once in the same place?? damn
That freaked me out too
No nosiy music
No overediting or overexaggerating in tone
Just plain and simple in the best way possible!
Your builds are amazing and better than anything I did in MC xD
I wanna see BOTH!!!!! Another 100days and then beat the game! If you are up to it then I will be happy to see it!
Big up to you ! Got this video in recommandation (maybe cause i'm the type of people who watch 100 day video on youtube to sleep) and your idea was really unique by the fact using an old version. I have to admit my heart melted at the fact how you talk and your 2 channel member, i found this really cute but. The type of channel who i'd like to keep it with jealousy but also want you to be more famous ahah.
Keep going your good job ! (And sorry for my english :d)

I’m pretty surprised that you didn’t use that chicken to make a farm you could have let it lay some eggs
Now do that challange in better than wolves
oh god...
RLLY NICE VIDEO but i kinda super died inside when you killed the chicken . you coudlve gotten eggs and had sustainable nice food 😭😭
Update the world
> Basalt
Brewing stand.
You basicly have everything. Also the trades of piglins after update and the nether trees.
You already have diamonds, so netherite won't be hard to get.
Only restriction is "Once you leave the nether to fight the dragon, no turning back, Thusly no sleeping or gathering materials in the overworld.
Yknow, just to spice it up 😊
Couldn't you get eggs from the chicken, that you could use to spawn more chicken, and... Basically make a chicken farm?
And here I am struggling to survive in the new nether, constantly thinking "Wow old nether must be IMPOSSIBLE, surely" and almost if on cue, I was proven wrong
Nether was made harder on purpose. Old Nether was ez.
less stuff to kill u in old nether but also lot less resources
The old Nether is harder for this specific niche challenge... Under normal circumstances, you'd already have tons of food and wood and whatnot and it doesn't really matter whether those resources are available in the Nether. But nowadays we also have hoglins and piglin brutes to deal with, skeletons are everywhere, we have to navigate basalt deltas, etc... The modern Nether is much tougher outside of the particular restriction of having to start out there.
Please make a video of you completing the game, this was very fun to watch! (but also many other 100s of days)
I will make more 100 days videos but ONLY if I think it is fresh and innovative. 2 more are in the works right now so stay tuuuuned
Yo i think its good idea to beat a wither in this world
I love how chill this is. Just narrating calmly and giving genuine advice. Good stuff man
you couldve farmed the chicken eggs
chickens spawned with zombie on them don't lay eggs
@@xdszymon1157 what if you breed two of them together
@@therealtailsprower you need seeds for that, its impossible
@@velkb228 before 1.8, you could breed chickens with nether wart.

Unless I'm misremembering, if you place a door sideways it should prevent zombies from breaking them with the only downside being a pressure plate would slam the door if your face instead of opening it. Love the vid!
Haven't seen the nether like that in a while
Honestly feels like some vague refernce on depression and anxiety, like you start in the nether, gameplay is harder for you than for the rest of the players, but playing and getting out is still doable if you try hard enough. Great video anyways and well done beating this challenge, don't matter the nonsense above, just was inspired by the words at 21:05
well zombie type mobs have a small chance of spawning reinforcements and bc. of a bug they apear as regular zombies not zombie variants and that caused this zombie to spawn
Rather than killing the ender dragon, i feel like killing the wither without leaving the nether would be more thematic (and challenging, lol)
best version and impressive gameplay
Only today I learned that mushrooms can be spread 🤯 nice work
9:18, why not use that chicken for an egg farm, to make more chickens? You can’t breed obviously but you could’ve waited for them to grow
Chickens that spawn as being rode do not give eggs, but you could breed them using Netherwart if you managed to get 2 of them without one of them despawning
@@blark5 I dont think chickens eat netherwarts...
@@xXThePotatoXx they used to, in the OLD versions.
love how you didnt over complicate any build this gives me very nostalgic vibes
I love the authenticity of your gameplay.
- It is not some high level detailed building;
- It is not oversimplified mega project;
- It is not some boosted dopamine machine of amazing discovery after some surreal gameplay.
A Brewing stand would be very very helpful to make potions such as Regen (ghast tear), Strength(blaze powder), Fire Resistance(magma cream), and also stronger(glowstone) or splash version of this. it makes your nether wart useful, that way ;D
With the furnace, you can smelt netherrack into bricks, instead of having to mine it all by hand.(coal blocks are faster too)
if you really want ot go all out you can turn that into a Blast furnace with three more smooth stone, and five ingots.
3. if you update to 1.16, it will reset your Entire Nether, as far as I know, so you will have to first go to the overworld then update then go back, and second, the main reason you made this video was to prove you can survive in the old nether.
4. Small request--- as nostalgic as the old netherrack is. . . it hurts my eyes. The newer texture was made for a reason LoL
nice builds too :D now do a nomad challenge, travel for at least 2500 blocks in one direction and build another little base, and link it with a pathway to your first one.
Crazy to see the old nether again
15:02 I sworn phantoms and zombies with tridents were not in this version of Minecraft
Both where added in 1.13
🤣
amazing video, very entertaining! i would say if it isnt too tedious you should try to get all of the pearls in the nether and then beat the game
Here's a couple tips:
1) Yes, the zombies spawning in the nether are from the Zombie reinforcement mechanic, in fact there are some farms that use this mechanic (Ianxofour has one that you might even be able to build with just wood and iron, though you may have to check on another world).
