I can just imagine Tile Man sitting there in pitch black. Hiding from his crying eyes, frozen blue fingers as he desperately tries to get the fire started failing again and again because of his shaking hands desperation taking over as he realizes he's not going to make it. And in the background Ambiguous Amphibian telling him what a failure he is.
Tile man, Tile man unlocks whatever tiles he can. Builds a fire (whoops!), builds a fire (whoops!) Builds a fire (whoops!), builds a fire (whoops!!!) There goes the Tile Man!
I could be wrong, but they could just be talking about Repair in the Zone. Though that mod only stops them from leaving the zone if you already have a tile in the zone, and will make them leave the zone if there is no tile in the zone for them to stand on. So in this case it really wouldn't have done anything. I hope I can be at least a little helpful with this information. @@HazzorPlaysGames
Dedication on your birthday! Always build the torch first in this situation, easier to build and gives heat and light. You don't need a full on campfire until you have some cooking to do!
this is the naked brutality no research meta; literally any predator or competent raider _will_ kill you so you'll lead a trail of abandoned "settlements" -- campfires, sleeping spots, and research spots -- until you've the basics needed to defend your constructions and safety. honestly a fun and satisfying grind and very accepting of mods
the frankie analogy was perfect man, this my first time watching and idk what was happening at all i never played rimworld but it was chill listening to you goof of and talk about different simple stuff, not going too deep on anything. i just played my minecraft singleplayer with it. goood vibes. you so right with the frankie on 1080 analogy tho
personally I'm a fan of generations-style gameplay, takes a lot of colony management to make sure you have a healthy but not exploding population, especially paired with extra stuff to research
Sure, here's one for you- labour undivided. Each couple or single person must cook and clean their own house which is forbidden for anyone else. Cannot share between households - recreation, eating areas, food, heat, refridgeration, a/c and work tables should be in their home zones. You could upgrade to homesteading and not share crops, animals, or power. Its a significant difficulty increase as not only the obvious skill issues, you can less easily make use of/abuse room size buffs, efficent logistics is harder, partnering is more important for skill blocked, and of course wealth is much greater. It will probably forever change how you play as there are upsides, too. Bad outcomes are often focused on households not spread across the colony.
AA's point around 1:34:00 about creators changing is genuinely interesting to me. It's something very apparent to me in the youtube gaming space. How many Minecraft youtubers have tried to spin off to other games only to find out their audience is mostly there for them playing explicitly Minecraft?
Yoooo I did one of these on rimworld the first time i watched a tileman in something else, gave up bc its too hard to keep track manually of the xp gain. Excited to watch you do it! The start of just. planting and cutting rice is brutal.
I got an idea! How about a totally relaxed challenge? As in: the colonists must all be relaxed the whole time. Soon as someone gets any break risk at all, you fail.
You can just cheese 1 tree. Just stop hitting it before it's done and you can keep doing it because a tree doesn't remember how many hits, like any rock.
I think I saw on the stream that it was your birthday, so happy (now) belated :D Incidentally, my middle son's birthday is 24th December, and he never ever ever had a joint birthday and Christmas present, because I was almost rabid about it. Well, not until he was an adult and could make that decision for himself. I don't usually watch streams, but you, my good amphibian, made it so interesting that I couldn't help myself.
This is old so you likely won’t see it. I noticed you commenting on that one viewer who commented they liked your previous content. Please remember that most of the people viewing love your content and like seeing you try new things. You can’t please everyone… but remember that means you are pleasing everyone else.
I didn't know its your b'day. Happy birthday AA, much love bub. 🎂❤ I just started watching the stream late.🤣😭 it's not your birthday.😭 I followed along with the chat like big fat sap.
I mean I love your vids man I really do I love your edits and your way of story telling But I do honestly really miss those more longer videos that allowed us to really enjoy what was going on rather then life flashing before our lives Seeing a full challenge that could easily be a series or at least a good 20/30/40min video be done in 10 minutes It's just not the same in that regard of being able to sit down and enjoy watching you and your story and the characters story bnfold and grow or die horrible I feel like by the time I sit down and get settled in it's all over
Yeah the sea ice series was how I found AA in the first place, and it's my favourite. It's just a shame so many just end abruptly with no real conclusion. I don't really watch the 10 minute videos on the main channel now, they just don't hit the same way.
That's kind of why I spend most of my time on his VODs channel now. I just hope he's uploading all the VODs, as some of his main channel's videos don't have respective VODs up on the VOD channel, but most do haha. I get what you mean about the series' though. I miss being able to see a challenge or playthrough from start to finish, but I also deal with burnout personally myself so I also don't blame AA whatsoever lol, cus same. It's a bit upsetting, but I like AA as a person more than I like his content, so I'd rather him be happy and healthy at the end of the day, if it comes down to a choice like that.
For some reason watching this gave me the idea of: Rimworld but you can't use anything that is grown. So no wood anything, no plant based food. Not sure if thats enough of a challenge on its own but it would be interesting for removing the begining steps most people go for at the start.
You definitely got a few friends to start the its your birthday donations to get more people to follow along 😉😂just messing love the vids happy birthday 🎉
In case you were on aware the reason he keeps deconstructing one thing and then hauling is because you have hauling set to a higher priority than construction
@ambiguousamphibian 2 useful things I noticed: You can see how many tiles you already have in the zone by clicking on it and having a look at the lower left box and the "Size" (so no holding the zone) and, secondly, you can make your visitors pay for stuff by the hospitality and gastronomy mod
been having a lot of fun with the mechanitor start as a sanguophage farming organs on a -80C permafrost mountainus map takes a lot of time tho it isn't for a single ep currently have a pawn with 327% manipulation and +250% global workspeed , makes 3 advanced components in an ingame hour all vanilla
How do you get the starting xp in all skills to zero? If I create a new pawn (using EDB Prepare Carefully, like in this video), they always come with some xp already in their 0 skills - and dev mode "set skill to: 0" puts them at 500.
It kinda inspired me to try a challenge, useless mechanitor. One colonist disallow every work except crafting/blacksmithing, and make mech do all work.
I'm so happy that you and I both hate Ideology. I don't like what it brings to the game. It adds more problems than it makes new fun storytelling. I'm looking forward to more of this one tile challenge. I've been a fan of yours since I saw your first video in 1952 AA.
AA, would you consider playing something like Stoneshard on stream. Might be up your alley and I believe there is entertainment to be had on both sides. A learning experience for you and the viewers
I cant believe it took 2 hours to get rid of those damn wall stumps sticking into the tile house after complaining about lack of space 😭😭losing my mind
I haven’t played Rimworld since Royalty came out. I wasn’t all that interested in buying it, but planting in the base game suddenly started breaking a couple of hours into a save. After having to start over three or four times, I came to the conclusion that I needed to get Royalty in order for the base game to function. That made me kind of resent it, making me even less keen to buy it. Maybe I’ll give it another try. I miss playing, and any glitches that cropped up at the time have probably been sorted out by now.
That shouldn't be the case at all, Royalty is just a DLC that adds more stuff, it doesn't fix anything. Vanilla Rimworld is pretty stable though, idk what glitches you could have encountered.
Could always try an extreme sea ice challenge. Cold snap every 24hrs and a permanent volcanic winter. Set to 500%, crank up the raid loot and quest loot % to what seems fun. Give yourself some extra steel and meals to start out with. Maybe some extra slag around the map. Its a punishing run but doable
I can just imagine Tile Man sitting there in pitch black. Hiding from his crying eyes, frozen blue fingers as he desperately tries to get the fire started failing again and again because of his shaking hands desperation taking over as he realizes he's not going to make it. plot of "to build a fire" by jack london
You listen to Jacob Geller videos, don’t you?
So, everyone's first twenty playthroughs of UnReal World, but with AA voiceover?
@@ArbaaltheundefeatedHaving an AA voiceover would be a plus, in my opinion.
@@citricdemon Is that the short story where the guy is warned and then freezes to death?

Builds a fire (whoops!), builds a fire (whoops!!!)

Not naming him Tyler is a terrifible missed opportunity
😂 well played
Can confirm.
Tyler Tiles
the best part of every time AA goes live is that we get to celebrate his birthday!
2:01:28 - This is a moment when he finally orders to remove those two tiles of walls in his house
Happy birthday AA
Thanks for the shoutout! Very happy to hear that I am indeed infallible! ;)
Happy Birthday, thanks for the shout out
Honestly 10/10 unrecognized idea - I applaud you sir
@@ambiguousamphibian is a smooth operator
28% manipulation and constructing in the dark might be a factor in failing to make the campfire
There IS a mod that will stop them from going outside of their allowed zones to access other parts of their zone like Tile Mand II did at 54:00
What it called.
@@HazzorPlaysGames great question

Dedication on your birthday! Always build the torch first in this situation, easier to build and gives heat and light. You don't need a full on campfire until you have some cooking to do!
One challenge idea I had is more or less the map becomes slowly more hostile and the only way to combat it is to move maps, so you have to be nomadic
I RLLY likthat idea!
