I use the Rode "RodeLink Filmmaker Kit" as a neck mic, or to capture sound from the DJ's console on a wedding ceremony. . Can I put the cable from my Rode receiver into the D4 DUO input jack and then get 2 channels in my Canon 6DII ? one field sound from the D4 front mic on the left channel and another sound from the Rode receiver on the right channel?
So the bigger part of the microphone is on the lens side the smaller microphone is on the back? I’ve seen people put it on backwards does it matter I know it’s only obvious But not really for some people.
I wish the capsule specs were the same on both sides. I currently use 2 mini shotgun mics to achieve this result, I control the audio gain with recorder (I don't record with camera).
So my mic finally came in today, yay! The back mic is FANTASTIC...but I'm having some issues with the front. In particular, it has trouble with peaking. I film vlogs inside theme parks where it can be very noisy and I'll need to speak up, and it doesn't seem like it does very well with that as almost all my audio is peaked. It's kinda a shame coming from the RODE VideoMicro which handled that a lot better...hopefully I'm just doing something wrong or need to change a setting on my camera but I would love some suggestions. Working with a Sony RX100 VII.
Yes, experience the same thing. Shot an interview, with both front and back camera on at a noisy event. The front mic seems to pick up the ambiance and subject (2 feet away) sound equally.
