Filling in for Inferno must be some of the most intimidating shoes to fill. I mean, it's Inferno for christ sake. He nails it though. From the stop/start double kick, the ride fills and the tom hits. It really sounds like Infernos playing, not just from a technical standpoint but even down to the power he's putting into those tom hits. My last suggestion already got green-lit so I'll throw another out there. Dan Presland's playthrough of Intra Venus is a neat one. Lots of interesting little fills and groovy choices. Can't be mad at Ne Obliviscaris.
I agree. I would have been a bundle of nerves to receive a call to tour in place of Inferno. But he held it down and remained in the zone. And ill definitely look at this recommendation. I believe I've heard a song or two by this band on Spotify. From what i can remember it was a ton of double bass over instrument parts that didn't seem like it would even be metal lol. Im definitely curious to do some diving into this...
@@blindcynic you know... I was wondering that. I guess i should have just asked if it was a coincidence of not lol. In any case he now knows i fully support his son!
Jon is a Monster drummer. Those hits on the snare at the beginning of the song and then again at about mid song.. I like the sound of his snare. Along with that longevity double bass. And i noticed his dad here in the comments man that is cool..💀🤘
Man I cracked up SO bad when you said "let that sink in". Great video, I really liked how you described the mastery that's required to be fluid while playing this kind of music coz otherwise the exhaustion will just completely drain you!!
Im really glad you found my video insightful. I may not know everything but i at least try to bring authenticity to the things i observe as well as be somewhat entertaining
Have only had a chance to see your content for Haake and Rice, but if you haven't checked out Cattle Decapitation, that would be my recommendation here. Those guys are warlocks, and McGraw is no exception.
@@DrumlionMusic there aren't many drum cam clips on adtube, but there are a few from sickdrummermag and i found one for their track "Plagueborne" that I think has the best video and sound. I'd link it, but I don't want to violate or infringe.
@@parabolgravity ok gotcha! Ill look for this! And for stuff like this I don't mind posting links. Its actually relevant to the conversation we are having so i dont mind.
An amazing birthday treat! Inferno and BEHEMOTH are top tier. And Jon Rice is an absolute madman. Cheers my friend!! Ps, Just got my first Tattoo this weekend. Figured it was time for this death metal enthusiast 😂😅🎉
@@DrumlionMusic i think i saw some drum cam of Daray but you might also wanna see their live performance, i'd recommend either "Gateways" or "Progenies of the great apocalypse" just so you can feel the energy of that live aspect they have, i bet you gonna be amazed af bro.
There is no denying it, Jon Rice is a CERTIFIED BEAST!
Yeah, but why didn't you take the one with Inferno? He;s the true Behemoth drummer
Its coming rest assured

Check out Jon’s play through from when he was in Job For A Cowboy Unfurling a Darkened Gospel.
Ill have to do that

Yep he is! At first i didn't catch it and then i was like wait a minute lol!
Gene Hoglan has also filled in for Inferno a few years ago (during the Slayer/Testament/Anthrax\Behemoth tour).

Enjoyed your video - John Rice is amazing 😀
That was freaking sick bro!! Awesome seeing you as always my friend 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good to hear from you as usual!
He uses Trick Pro-1V pedals.
Ah ok! Thanks for clarifying. Thats a beastly pedal
Yea buddy. This song. Like most of behemoth is a real vibe. Really catches you, just headbanging.
Its super interesting how even intense music like this can just mesmerize you
Although I hated Dan Presland's departure from Ne Obliviscaris, I think Jon could fill in for NeO🤔😉🤘🏻 Really enjoy your channel, BTW👊🏻
Im really glad that you do! And did NeO get a replacement drummer?
@@DrumlionMusic they haven't announced yet but Xen hinted that they had "someone"🙏🏻🤘🏻
