It was a pain to get my trans into my DKM clutch too. I used a combination of the engine support bar, a jack, and a ratchet strap to help position the trans. I feel like my clutch doesn't fully disengage, so hopefully not having that circular shim doesn't bite you.
Hm maybe it's a DKM thing then.. I'm taking this engine back out when the built one is ready, the DKM won't be reused. I haven't had any drivability issues with the dkm though (bc as you know these videos are a bit behind and I've been driving the car).
@@FAZEDTom that's good to hear. I'm hoping my issues were my shifter. I do love the clutch otherwise though.
@@bryan_turner that's possible for the shifter to prevent the clutch disks from fully disengaging?
@@FAZEDTom it's doubtful, but my shifting symptoms were difficulty to engage first and reverse. I had a clutch stop in when I first installed it and I had to remove it so I could select gears, so I know it's pretty close on the clutch throw, so it's probably a mixture of sloppy bushings and the clutch being barely disengaged.
That's odd. Are you sure the TOB is working correctly?
I also got the G25-660 for my MK6. Where did you get the downpipe from? Cant seem to find one for mine

Can you use the stock Golf R trans on the 07k swap? Watching these videos makes me want to swap over to the 2.5.

Good idea, I did try some oil but still didn't have any luck. I edited out A LOT of my attempts 😂😂

hey im curious what the size and fitting is for the oil supply line, im solo diving into a turbo 07k build and ive got everything down but what to do for oil supply and drain for the turbo. Couldnt find much info online but i found your video. if you could provide any details regarding what port you used for oil supply that would be much appreciated
Edit: I found it lol, it’s an m10 x1.0. This is the sizing for the port on the front of the block.

Yes! Just need to shave off a bit of the bellhousing, it’s easy and very obvious once you try to mount them
