Fijian Chief's Funeral In Tawake Village, Fiji

On January 28, 2017, the chief of Tawake village, Ratu Isoa Valelase Levu, died. He was 81 years old. A chief’s funeral is a big deal in Fiji. People come from all around to pay their respects and celebrate his life. They bring pigs, cows, taro roots, cassava, whales' teeth, and kava. The warrior tribes blow conch shells for 24 hours.
