Well in the absence of knowledge, we usually fill those gaps with ideas and beliefs held together by pseudoscience that make it seem okay at that particular time in history. Example long ago in Papua New Guinea, warriors used to practice cooking and eating their enemies because they believed that would stop their spirit from haunting them. In medieval Europe, they practiced medicinal cannibalism because they believed drinking fresh human blood cured blood illnesses or mixing human bone cocktail for headaches and a few other practices with human fat etc. There were many other cannibalistic practices around the world back then, good thing we live in a time where we are much more educated and aware how gruesome and grotesque these practices were to never do them ourselves. 👍
They don't do this tradition anymore, anyway. I wish that would've been clarified. I believe back in the 50s, a doctor actually investigated what was causing kuru in the women. That's how they discovered the prion disease associated with the women and children eating the brains/spinal tissues. The tribes effectively banned/ended the tradition after that. They were the ones seeking help initially with figuring out what kuru was, when Western doctors wanted to look into it.
@@gennymikel4296 there are a lot of people in this world with a lot of different beliefs and customs. Putting a dead body in a box and burying it is probably “some sick shit” and is undoubtedly just abhorrent to other customs. Would I eat part of a dead body? I was asked years ago by a classmate when I was going to college. She was from central Africa. She asked me why we show so little care of our dead? Why do we act as if we don’t care about them? Do we stop loving those that we once loved when they die? Why don’t we Marne are dead? Why do we forget out dead?
There's nothing wrong with ok, ur religion is not the best & it is diffrent for everyone else, show some respect, then to act like ur Muslim way is the only way.
As for the burning wife "tradition", this is also mentioned in "Around the world in 80 days" by Jules Vernes. The story takes place in the 1870s, when the practice had already been made illegal, but it is suggested that it continued secretly for a while.
No these are just a coping mechanism to deal with the reality of death. Many people cannot let go of belongings of a loved one, and also sometimes no even the corpse, that´s one of the reasons the mummification tradition was invented, and that´s also the reason crypts exist. But that sky burial is ehm..... mildly disturbing, imagine seeing your loved one hacked into pieces and getting fed to vultures. It cannot get anymore insane traumatizing and disgracing than that.
You can now be buried under the sea now, there is a underwater cemetery in the ocean, which is a growing reef, and it’s beautiful. I think it’s a great idea.
6 minutes into the video. Quite a number of minor mistakes about the Celts... First of all, they did not only inhabit Western Europe (or "famously", as you said, the British Isles). Celtic populations inhabited most of the continent, as far east as modern Turkey, as far west as Portugal, as far north as central Europe, as far south as the Appenines. Second: Caesar did not "crush" the Celts, he simply conquered some Celtic lands, especially modern France and England. Third, you mentioned Caesar and his "Roman empire"... but the empire had not been established yet! Rome was a Republic. Caesar's son Augustus established the empire.
Check out how Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico have funerals nowadays it's popular have funerals nowadays it's popular to prop the corpse up and have him either standing in a boxing ring if he's a boxer or on a motorcycle if he likes to ride motorcycles or in a club if he likes to go to clubs and party with them that way it's kind of weird it's very weird actually
Perhaps the body in the tree trunk was where they hid D the body after killing the person, after all how often would you look for a crime victim buried in a tree?
I think it's disgusting that people eat the flesh (or whatever they eat of the body) of there loved ones . There's the FLESH and there's the SPIRIT. The flesh will decay and eventually desinigrate into yhe ground. ASHES TO ASHES, DUST TO DUST.
What's the difference between animal flesh and human flesh? If u are seved human flesh well cooked and spiced up with out ur knowledge u may not know its human flesh.
It should be possible to create a diamond of the remains. This can already be done with beloved dead pets. Way better than have buried remains six feet under.
In the endo cannibalism, why did you use video and pictures of the maa people while the practice was from papua? Was it necessary to associate Africans with something we dont practice?
the people in the church in the first one were holding clothe on their noses ,.... they must smell so putrid i couldnt do that for all the money in china lol
Eating a human is not going to give you wisdom nor help you live longer it is just disgusting
just your opinion
Have you done it to know?

Cus they're gone and resting. Let them rest. Why worry about the dead. Do you get annoyed when people bother you in your sleep?
I don't trust the beads. They could just be normal glass beads and they probably just dump the ashes.
yep totally agree with you , now i cant see beads with out imagining them being human bodies lol
...what were they pink purple blue and orange ....omg
im korean but i never saw body beads in my entire life
I am scared I am disgusted but I'm also amazed😨🤮🤯

This was done because they did not want to be slaves of the invaders but later it became a tradition.
Who came up with this sick shit?

I seen the hanging coffins the tour guide showed us how the bodies are put in
The vulgars are trained not to retrieve the meat till it’s all cut up. No joke. Saw the documentary on sky funerals.

Who in there right mind would think it's ok to keep the dead alive and then eat them on top of that is not right at all.
I agree..
You know what else isn't right ? That you didn't flunk English every year.
