I visited Alaska over the fourth and drove by it to go camping. I asked some dude after driving past parked cars for 4 miles where all these people were going, and he said " They're launching cars off a cliff man"
After all glass and exhaust is removed, there’s a single metal track that leads to a dirt jump that the vehicles are attached to. There’s also a non-track dirt road where a couple guys just hand guide them. The vehicles are left in neutral with some sort of pulley or bungee cord system on the gas pedal, then put into drive and sent off.
Great example of poor journalism. No information on who puts on the event, how it started, what time it took place, where it took place, how the cars are launched, etc. Please, journalists, reporters, and on-camera talent, if you cannot answer "who, what, when, where, why and how", don't run the story.

Would not advise tent camping for anyone older than 35 if you can help it...planning on a fifth wheel here forward 😂 You will get stuck with the camping yahoos that are up all night and make it their mission to wake you if you even went to sleep. Toilets are port-a-potties, no showers, no signal and no Wi-Fi available.
