    You just saved me from jumping out the 3rd floor window of my office. A client requested that I remove reflections from a product image of a crumpled piece of weird plastic (which they thought was distracting). The complexity of the reflections is beyond description. In ten minutes I fixed everything using your technique. This was astonishingly helpful!

    I love these tutorials that use images that are literally a perfect case scenario.

    This is a pretty advanced tutorial. Beginners beware. He shows about 8 different technics in this one video. If you don't know how to use the pen tool proficiently and havn't memorized basic shortcuts like cmd+return, cmd+d, cmd+alt+z, then you should probably learn that first before getting into this video. Granted, it's a good tutorial.

    Thank you. I've been really getting into Photoshop for my picture editing and I work on it more and more and need to learn more techniques as I go. And you have definitely taught me a new trick today. Thank you!

    I'm a Real Estate photographer. Reflections are the bane of my existence. Glaring reflections of the flash, or there I am in the middle of the mirror, or etc etc. I'm going to try this on those kinds of things. im not sure it will work, especially on the reflections of the flash in window, just because they are so big most of the time. But thanks for sharing, whether it works for me or not. It's an interesting approach.

    Good technique to make it faster.
    I work a lot "cleaning" classic cars pictures because I'm the "Concurso de Elegancia México" designer, so I pass lots of time getting rid of reflects, scratches, dust, shades...
    But I always use clone stamp and cut and paste, then erase edges...
    One cool trick that I implement a lot is cutting out all the chrome pieces that have reflects (specially when the cars are over grass or there's people around), and then desaturate them and play a little with the bright/contrast to give a neat chrome effect.
    In the end they look really beautiful, but it's a lot of work!

      +Admando Zapata thanks for checking this out and for adding some more cool tips to the list! I will definitely have to give that a shot but I could see how that would also produce some pretty cool effects. I think that would work nicely as long as there weren't any objects that were being reflected in the chrome that are still identifiable after desaturating.

      @zapatarmando 7 років тому +1

      Yeah man, that is a total challenge, in that case I use the spot healing brush in the parts i need to and clone, and stuff...
      Thanks for answering =)

    In the clone stamp segment, you don't have to merge edit layers to use clone stamp-in fact, I would suggest you didn't. I work non-destructively. The clone stamp tool has a setting in the control bar that will allow you to change the sample area from current to current & below.

    • @EricVasquezDesign
      @EricVasquezDesign  Рік тому

      Yes! This is a great point, thank you for your comment. I know it was from a while ago but you are absolutely correct that the Stamp Tool can be used in a more effective way by using a different layer and changing the settings to ‘Current and Below’ to preserve the original layer.

    I personally, would not have spent so long explaining Pen/Path Tool... as you "don't have the time..."
    And instead, I would have explained the "Level Enhancement and Boosted Saturation...", that's far more important in the "Removing Reflections in PSD". - Thanks for sharing.

    Erm... just use the patch tool! Make your selection the select the patch tool and drag to the non reflective area. Find the patch tool by clicking and holding on the stamp tool.
    That should save you a fair amount of time with this kind of work.

    I have a question. When I go to select an area with the pen and copy it. It doesn’t let me copy it. It’s simply not an option and I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong. All I do is choose an area with the the pen tool, hit command and return then click copy but the copy button is dark because it doesn’t let me

    You should lower the opacity so a bit comes through. This is a bit over the top. It is a nice technique and using those shapes allows yo uto quick make selections afterwards if somethings needs to be fixed.

    I don't have mac so I'm getting lost whenever you use the command key. How do I select the area that my pen encircled? To add on, when you say to copy the selected area, Photoshop tells me that no area is selected.

    • @EricVasquezDesign
      @EricVasquezDesign  7 років тому +8

      I think once you have a path from the Pen Tool you can press Control+Enter on the keyboard and it should activate a selection around your object?

    • @kevinmalbas5107
      @kevinmalbas5107 6 років тому

      When he says command just think ''Ctrl'' for the PC and when using the pen tool make your path by putting multiple points to encircle what ever you want and when your done right click and a menu will appear and choose ''make selection'' and that should give you the ''marching ants'' or in other words an alternating line pattern which means that this area is selected, also make sure that your on a layer that has pixels
      Hope this helps!

    Wat should I do?

    • @EricVasquezDesign
      @EricVasquezDesign  8 років тому

      +Anirudh Ramesh thank you for your comments. When doing this technique please make sure that you have the appropriate layer selected when you are copying a selection that you intend to load into your saved selection. It may be possible that you had an empty layer highlighted or an area where there was no information when attempting to copy.

    • @EricVasquezDesign
      @EricVasquezDesign  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not quite as familiar with PC’s as I am a Mac, but I think most of the steps would remain the same. One thing I am pretty sure of is that on a PC you would use the Control key instead of the Command key.

    I cant figure out how to blend w/ the brush ?

    • @ericvasquez161
      @ericvasquez161 8 років тому

      Thanks for your comment! Blending with the brush is usually done by brushing with a low opacity setting. You can use the numbers on your keyboard to change the opacity of your brush by increments of 10% so '2' would be 20% opacity etc. you could also change it with the sliders and softer brushes work better for blending than hard edged brushes. Hopefully this will help!
