  • This is the first in a series of MasterClass videos for AudioScope. If you haven't already seen the preview video it is advisable to watch that prior to watching this video, as it goes over some of the basics that are not mentioned here.
    In this video we look at how to setup and configure AudioScope in a range of DAW's, and focus on all the basics of Live Mix mode.

    Excellent! On my wishlist for the next update would be midi control of the snapshots. That way you could record the switching of the snapshots in a sequencer.

      If you load the MIDI version of AudioScope you can send MIDI CC commands to switch snapshots.

      @@PaultheMusicMan Great! I have to load it as an au effect. It doesn’t show as a midi effect. Does it matter in which slot?

      @@PaultheMusicMan thanks. Would very much appreciate a video where you record the cc messages in helium, and have helium trigger the snapshots.

      @@campingbackofen7246 Assumung you are adding to an AUM effect slot there are two options, AudioScope and AudioScope MIDI.

      Are audioscope and audioscope midi identical apart from the midi control function for the snapshots? How do I record the cc values on/off in Helium? Edit: I managed to record the snapshot movements. It even worked by assigning keys instead of cc values, which I actually prefer, because you can see the changes in the piano roll. I chose channel 1. Is this channel then blocked so you can’t use it for controlling sound? Probably yes.

    Now I’m confused, you didn’t mention about stage gaining? You showed the live mix but that’s just affecting the balance the output volume so I see there’s a vu meter in the plugin would I just use that to for my gain staging right ?

    Is there a analyzer so I can see frequencies while equing? Does it show levels of a channel like a “real” mixer?

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  Рік тому +1

      The EQ and other tools show the frequency in real time as you adjust. The live mixer shows the dB level which is what a long throw fader would do.

    It would be quicker to use the duplicate function in AUM, rather than creating individual instances.

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  Рік тому

      Good suggestion, although doing that will duplicate the name of the instance which can get confusing.

    Can you solo and mute a group with other groups playing just think it would be handy to hear more than one instrument at a time sometimes without having to drag down on the instruments to lower or kill their volume? I did notice is landscape mode on my iPad if you completely drag down on full window settings you can still hear the sound with your DAWs faders set halfway up. Is there any recommendations how to set this ?

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  Рік тому +1

      Yes, if you watch the videos you will see I explain how to set the vertical scale, but during a general mix you need to focus on a small areahence only 20dB by default. You can mute as many as your want, but currently you can only solo a single track because I wanted to be able to skip from one track to another and only hear the selected track in solo mode.

    • @PaultheMusicMan
      @PaultheMusicMan  Рік тому +1

      Open the Mix Bar and press Options, the scale can be set from there.

      I'm adding the option to mute/unmute a group in the next version.

      Hi Paul will you be able to go beyond -24db in eq in future versions? thanks - can’t seem to change the vertical scale for eq - great app

      @@peacefulpigeon7254 Aha, 24dB is quite a lot to be honest for an EQ, but I will look into it.
