AudioScope is an invaluable audio plugin for mixing and mastering with a toolbox of additional mixing aids. It was originally created as a method for comparing your mix to a reference track and seeing exactly what frequencies to tweak in order to obtain a desired match. This alone is incredibly useful for creating the feel of a particular genre of music, by tweaking your mix to match.
AudioScope is so much more than this! It includes a great visual mixer which enables you control your entire mix from a single window inside your DAW. You see a top-down visualisation of your entire mix and stereo balance. You can save up to 3 compare mixes and quickly switch between them. You can also save up to 12 snapshots of stereo positions and levels, then morph between them. All of this functionality is available via MIDI, so with one simple CC command, you can switch out one mix for another or engage a snapshot. You are able to group your drums and other elements so that the mix doesn't become overwhelming, allowing you to focus on a subset of key elements if you wish. AudioScope also includes a suite of tools to adjust EQ, compression, and overall balance of your mix.
The way AudioScope works is unique, with a quick and easy workflow: Insert an instance of AudioScope on each of your track's Insert Effect slot and name the track. Now simply open one of the instances and you have the ability to control all tracks from a single window.
AudioScope is equiped with its own shelf and peak filters, EQ and lookahead compressor (with Sidechain).

© Add up to 3 parameteric EQ's to each track to cut or boost frequency ranges.
O Enable the internal look ahead sidechain compressor.
O Capture up to 3 compare mixes and preview in real time.
O Create up to 12 snapshots and fade from one to another.
O Invert the phase of tracks to avoid phasing issues
O Remove DC option to remove unwanted noise and rumble below 60Hz.
O Instant Pass Thru to bypass all instances of AudioScope.
O Mix lock to prevent accidental changes to your mix.
• Monitor up to 32 tracks at once.

Brilliant! Paul has done it again.. AudioScope is loaded with features to get your mixes happening.. All the smaller tools are so handy to have inside one interface.. So many options for viewing too..
The actual mixing screen is genius.. taking full advantage of our touchscreens.. 3 different mixes, comparing tracks.. top it all off with snapshots.. I absolutely love the timed movements between snapshots.. sometimes instant is good but other times a slower change is what’s called for..
I can see AudioScope being an essential tool while mixing in AUM.. Paul has filled another gap in our iOS audio ecosystem..

What genre do you mix?
@@soundformore all instrumental, sort of progressive rock/jazz fusion. I use a lot of iOS synths, bass guitar/upright bass, and drums (audio in from my Alesis kit playing plugins from my laptop).

@@soundformore I’m honestly too damn picky 🤣 I’ve downloaded so many drum apps, but I just haven’t found one with the natural sounds I like. GarageBand was the closest, but of course they’ll never let us use it as an instrument in AUV3 or Audiobus. I’m crossing my fingers GoranGrooves brings Handy Drums to iOS, though I’m not even sure how they would sound triggered with my kit.

This is a far more superior version of iZotope’s Visual Mixer for Mac or Windows. AudioScope is Visual Mixer on steroids.

Ah is this similar to Visual Mixer by Mani Consulting? They also have a Binaural Location Auv3, it would be great to also have Binaural and eventually Dolby Atmos in an app. 😊

Sounds pretty good… you have 10 bands EQ and 3 Parametric Bands Peak… plus DC, plus phase invert… quite good

How do we gain stage our tracks before balancing the levels on this plugin?
It depends on what software you are using with the plugin, inside AUM or not? inside a DAW? What DAW? In AUM you could start using the gain module inside signal processing as part of dynamics …
@@soundformore I’m on GarageBand iOS? Would I gain stage like I would normally on my daw then or do it on the audioscope? I see it has a VU meter so I assumed we would use that for gain staging to read our input levels so would I increase/decrease gain inside the audioscope or how I would normally on my daw?
@@soundformore normally ill use a compressors makeup gain to gain stage my tracks and check my levels on LUFS meter. So with audioscope would I still do that except use the vu meter instead of LUFS meter or?
@MendingSilence you can continue to do that or you could use the compressor inside audioscope to adjust the gain. You can gain stage outside audioscope and use audioscope for mastering after mixing…
