Looking back we came a long way from the early days. I was born In 2003 I caught the four series' through 4kids and more of it when I discovered the internet. Side note my favorite protagonist is Yuma because his grow, people probably dislike him due to his English dub voice. Yeah things got complicated over time honestly my main two good deck are stardust/ synchron and utopia/onomatopoeia. No links, pendulum,in the past I use fusion mainly with duel links. My personal ace is SATELLITE WARRIOR and my boss monster is SHOOTING QUASAR DRAGON
I often play to deal big damage + crippling effects, so sometimes I barely get to use any of my extra deck. Heck, I barely have to play my ace or my boss monsters. My ace is beelze and my boss is beelzeus.
@@Dash-The-Hedgehog honestly I built 2 version of my archfiend dragon deck, one for casual one for competitive, both of which I can put out my boss monster on the 1st to 3rd hand usually. But sadly the game has progressed to you whether you have a chance at winning in the first 3 turns
You don't need to run Links in every deck that uses the Extra Deck anymore. A few years ago, they revised the rules so you could Special Summon Fusions, Synchros, and Xyz to any zone you want, as many times as you want. The only summoning mechanics still restricted to Link Zones are Links and Pendulums.
As a yugioh fan, 3 best shows are 5ds, GX, Arc V. Arc V is so hard to get into, but once you get to the first tournament show goes from one to one thousand. Not gonna spoil anything but a specific character just snaps. The rest of the show follows suit with absolute madness.
The updated the rulings for links. Now you can summon synchro, xyz and fusion in the main and extra zones without needing links. Still love your videos.
My friend you are amazing. I used to watch the yugioh show but stopped when sevens was announced. I run a red eyes deck personally so when I saw that you play hero’s it made me smile.
DISCLAIMER: Links no longer restict all other extra deck mechanics except pendulum, so say your playing HEROS you are allowed to fusion summon as much as you can if you want.
im going into this already guessing whats to come as a modern yugioh player and having fun with the old yugioh but i already know this community so lets see how this goes
As a huge yugioh nerd I can give you a long list about the show but the tldr is every yugioh show up I highly recommend you watching, the plot is amazing. Especially Zexal at the end! Yugioh arc v have a decent plot, it's basically the first 4 shows going to war with each other, the begging was amazing, the middle was good, the ending could have been better, but still my fav show out of all. Watch yugioh vrains, the show hit deep, especially what happened to one of the main characters, toward the end of the show. If your problem is with the concept of link monster, you'll be happy to know that once vrains ended, they kinda went back to how thing was before. The nerf they did only really affect pendulum summon. So fusion, synchro and Xyz now are not affected by link monster. Also the spell and trap card issues, isn't a issues because most pendulum decks don't play continuous spells and traps, in the first place. So it's not really a problem.
The introduction of links was to counter the game speed seen prior with pendulums. They lifted the ruling on links a while ago. You can summon monsters in the extra deck to any monster zone besides links which have to occupy the extra monster zone or zones being pointed to with a link arrow. Additionally now you can only pendulum summon monsters from the extra deck to a zone a link monster points towards. This way you can’t use 4 pendulum monsters and just summon them all back next turn.
The belief I followed was that 5Ds was the peak of the game in the aspect of simplicity vs complexity, but I still always had ARC-V as my favorite with how well it managed to integrate the main systems and demonstrated that you can either use every tool available or just stick with what you got. Yes, there is Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, XYZ, Pendulum, and Link, but I'd gladly watch you cook with your Tibuting deck as you walk over my complex mess that manages to function integrating Synchro, Xyz, Link, and Pendulum.
As someone who actively plays Yugioh Master Duel, I see like NOBODY even touching Pendulum decks because the amount of setup needed is ridiculous. Also Elemental Heroes do have modern support cards and they still be slappin' alongside the Ancient Gears.
I glad u like pendulum too i finally figured out how to play and since arc five was my favorite series I used pendulum and it was simple now im using labyrinth as well i do xyz and fusion but pendulum is my top
No hate but I can’t stand the way Yugioh is now. Played back in the day but this “attack for duel on turn 2” and “play half your deck in 1 turn” stuff just feels stupid. It shouldn’t feel like the game is decided by a coin flip or rock, paper, scissors. Plus now you absolutely have to use certain cards or you just getting destroyed constantly, that is just shitty.
@@richardwilliams3080 there are a lot of OP decks now that you have to utilize the extra deck to be able to keep up with them, so that's what I mean by being glad that they brought back the full Utilization of the extra deck
Grew up with yugioh. Zexal is my favorite and my favorite summoning mechanic is xyz. Also while I don't like links all too much I did love the anime. Wish it went longer and had less recap episodes but I'm satisfied with what we got. Playmaker is that guy
hey man i love your videos if you see this comment i also had a suggestion who would win in a fight between dabi [MHA] and azula [AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER]
Maybe I don't understand the complaint. The one zone doesn't restrict ALL of your extra deck monsters, just Link Monsters. After that, you can continue to link summon to whatever directions your card is pointing or to a higher link rating with more monsters. Not all Link monsters have effects that are determined by whatever it is pointing at. And the new zone even gives you a place to bring back old Pendulum monsters that are sent face up to the extra deck after they're destroyed or sent to the extra deck face up. That's potentially 6 monsters you can summon all at once. You can even use the Link arrows on Link monsters to Pendulum Summon those extra deck Pendulum Monsters back to the field to wherever they are pointing.
I somewhat agree with you about vrains. Even Konami seems to agree because that one extra deck zone ain't the case no more. But I can't help but like some of the link options my decks get from link summoning
Bro I agree with everything you said. I never play with links, it ruins everything. Pendulums and XYZ together is amazing. I get three level fours, summon a stronger monster, that also has an ability that destroys my opponents monsters! Then have space to normal summon. Plus Pendulum monster don't go to the grave once they get destroyed, so you can bring them back. It has its flaws but it was fun.
Rly, cuz the changed how link summoning workers long time ago so pendulums are the only cards that it rly limits. But even then they gave pendulum very broken link monsters so it's not like they're necessarily struggling.
Also with arc V the cool thing about it that yuya was the only yugioh main character to master all of the summing mechanics up to that point and even after that he still had link cards made for him.
Season 0 and Duel Monsters: The true OGs that started it all GX: A well done sequel spin-off that deserves more potential 5Ds: A great successor to DM and GX with its story, characters, duels, and soundtrack ZEXAL: Originally hated at the start but over time gotten more love and attention and is considered to be another great spin-off especially with having the main character Yuma develop his dueling skills as it’s part of his character starting from amateur to pro ARC-V: Over time during the anime’s run it had peak moments and iconic scenes throughout but around the second half of season 4 and season 5 it tends be a little off the rails with the Z-ARC and Ray Akaba storyline Good foreshadowing but bad execution VRAINS: The one that deserves better after lasting 3 seasons of a good story and duels to get you intrigued due to production issues and multiple recap episodes Rush Duel Anime (SEVENS and Go Rush!!): Despite it reaching to a much younger audience and introducing a new side game, it still have an audience with a few fans from the first six shows with a interesting story and fun characters (Me personally I haven’t seen SEVENS and Go Rush!! yet so I’m going by reactions from fans in the community)
yeah i agree with you completely about vrians being where the down grade starts, infact people hated so much what links did to the game, the master rule right after links called; "master rule 2020" allows you to summon fusions, synchros and xyz into any of your 6 monster zones, however pendulums don't still, and links still work the same way but just for links and pendulum summoning. so yes you can still fusion summon 3-4 times per turn with your hero deck without controlling links in the present day, it is allowed.
I just made a new Elemental HERO deck but turned it into A TRUE HERO deck cause now you gotta run Skyscraper with Masked HERO cards and Honest Neos to feel like I got a chance against newer decks and it’s working out for me so far they got two X-tra HERO cards I really like one if Wonderdriver which helps summon big boss HERO cards from your hand with no tribute or Dread Decimator if you got a bunch of HERO cards in your graveyard Dread Decimator and any card(s) it points to gain 100atk for each HERO in your graveyard plus the added effect Dread Decimator does piercing damage
Not gonna lie, I liked it all the way until zexal. I liked everything from the beginning till that point. Still love the game. Yugioh 5ds was always my favorite especially that old west Arc
Show opinion: Yugi- It’s the OG and I love every single one of them and I stand by that. GX- LOVE the heroes, not so much the fact that everyone turned turncoat on Jaden. 5Ds- MASTERPIECE! PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! 🤩😁 Zexel- Weird, rough start, but I am someone who *adores* hope, so having an ace monster based off of it is cool to me. 😎 Also Galaxy Eyes is epic. Arc-V- I personally *ADORE* the idea of it, and it’s really cool, BUT it needs more convincing on the forgiveness part. Honestly the Xyz guys were the most hardcore guys there. That said great to see 5Ds again😁…sort of. 😅 (Multiverse) Vrains- Let me just say this: This show is unfairness and hater fuel *INCARNATE* !!! Seriously NONE of the AIs deserved what became of them, especially Ai. 😭 That said it was the only YiGiOh that made my brain overload more than once (in a kinda good way) Game opinion: *FACTS* When I saw that you couldn’t summon as many Extra Deck monsters when Link summoning came out I was *PISSED* Thank *GOD* at least Duel Links fixed that s-t! 😩🤦🏾♂️
Fun fact: Yugioh characters by lore technicality are multiversal because of shit like Yubel being able to fuse several realities together among other things.
I've been a Day 1 fan of both the anime and card game. My favorite deck of all time will always be Charmers and to this day I still want to see more supports from them because they still have an incomplete set or even a lore to begin with.
While i agree with some stuff and also disagree with some Great vid man keep it up! (Also i respect the fellow HERO player, they never expect the HERO otk)
Your sorta right with link summoning Basically the link arrows if they point to something something happens sometimes it can be a effect where if there not a monster there it will summon one there or if there is something summoned there it will end the field an some like decode talker can substitute a monster to negate something But I do agree pendulum is very fun to use it simple an easy to understand an some card do have effect if you pendulum summon them an those pendulum monster also have effect to like saying nope to opponent spell cards or changing there scale itself or the opponents
Also I hate to be the barror of bad news but most of Yu-Gi-Oh community from what I know HATE pendulum monsters I don't if anything Im sorta still new to Yu-Gi-Oh card game irl but I love it man
I mean to be fair, they did eventually lift the special summoning restrictions, of course immediately after this they printed links that basic read “you win the game on the spot”
Bonus part of Pendulum summoning was the effects the pendulum monsters had a long with the summoning ah if you had the right cards you could win in one turn
btw master rule 5 fixes your Extra deck summoning. You no longer need link monster to summon other extra deck monsters. Other improvements of link summoning is that it is a better extra deck monster because it was extremely easy to summon them compare to the rest of the extra deck summoning (fusion, synchro, Xyz). Link monsters are also one of the best support type for older deck as its materials requirements are generic as hell which means more flexibility for deck building i.e. Heroes

I love this intro and appreciate the hot take. Yu-Gi-Oh may have added the new mechanics but it's still easy to follow. Last anime version I watched all the way was GX though. I just wasn't feeling it. Then dueling on motorcycles just made me laugh so I quit in like the first few episodes.
*clear mind plays louder*
Bruh my number 1 deck is a archfiend dragon/ resonator deck with my boss monster being red supernova dragon
@@TreytheBeast03 big bungus, big number, SMASH
Is there no sound for anyone else?
As a yugioh fan, 3 best shows are 5ds, GX, Arc V.
Arc V is so hard to get into, but once you get to the first tournament show goes from one to one thousand. Not gonna spoil anything but a specific character just snaps. The rest of the show follows suit with absolute madness.
Thank God, the current master rule in Yu-Gi-Oh a allows you to fusion, synchro, and XYZ summon in the main monster zones with out link monster
3:00 they changed the ruling to only limit link monsters so you can still do all the other summons, but the arrows only apply to the link monsters
Damn first time I’m seeing a video and not a short. That intro 😂🔥
That intro is fire 🔥
DISCLAIMER: Links no longer restict all other extra deck mechanics except pendulum, so say your playing HEROS you are allowed to fusion summon as much as you can if you want.
Arc V is fantastic.
I still love Giorno Giovanna’s VA pulling out the stops and just going crazy.
Love your vids man❤
im going into this already guessing whats to come as a modern yugioh player and having fun with the old yugioh but i already know this community so lets see how this goes
I'm sorry but I can't fathom a show where a roomba became a villain and his evil deck was themed around houshold appliances being deep.
Love the intro, all good points
I saw this and I knew I had to watch this, man I love yugioh, it’s a fun game and I love the shows too
The introduction of links was to counter the game speed seen prior with pendulums.
I thought you just watched till 5ds now I here you played pendulums you know more than I anticipated. GG
I come from you tiktok and haven’t seen a single video but your intro is on fucking point
As someone who actively plays Yugioh Master Duel, I see like NOBODY even touching Pendulum decks because the amount of setup needed is ridiculous. Also Elemental Heroes do have modern support cards and they still be slappin' alongside the Ancient Gears.
"I had to remake my whole deck just because you lost turn two!" is crazy.
😂😂😂
I glad u like pendulum too i finally figured out how to play and since arc five was my favorite series I used pendulum and it was simple now im using labyrinth as well i do xyz and fusion but pendulum is my top
Pendulum and Arc-V is sick!
The show starts goofy but gets awesome in season 2.
And than the ending was absolute trash but we don’t talk about Yugioh arc-v ending
Great video and pretty much sums it up
Intro goes absolutely hard
"Swing! Pendulum of Souls" still fucking slaps!
I honestly feels the same way, however I somewhat under link summon in the card game not in the anime. Also good to hear another E-hero brother!
It's good that they changed the rules back for extra deck summoning. It made the game back to being a blast
They reverted the link summoning change for all things except link summoning and pendulum summoning from the extra deck
hey man i love your videos if you see this comment i also had a suggestion who would win in a fight between dabi [MHA] and azula [AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER]
Whoever gave this man gave his jawline needs a reward
You know what I didn’t know you had regular content
Season 0 and Duel Monsters: The true OGs that started it all
GX: A well done sequel spin-off that deserves more potential
5Ds: A great successor to DM and GX with its story, characters, duels, and soundtrack
ZEXAL: Originally hated at the start but over time gotten more love and attention and is considered to be another great spin-off especially with having the main character Yuma develop his dueling skills as it’s part of his character starting from amateur to pro
ARC-V: Over time during the anime’s run it had peak moments and iconic scenes throughout but around the second half of season 4 and season 5 it tends be a little off the rails with the Z-ARC and Ray Akaba storyline Good foreshadowing but bad execution
VRAINS: The one that deserves better after lasting 3 seasons of a good story and duels to get you intrigued due to production issues and multiple recap episodes
Rush Duel Anime (SEVENS and Go Rush!!): Despite it reaching to a much younger audience and introducing a new side game, it still have an audience with a few fans from the first six shows with a interesting story and fun characters (Me personally I haven’t seen SEVENS and Go Rush!! yet so I’m going by reactions from fans in the community)
The manga actually started it all, they trimmed down some of the content from before Death-T.
@@LiMe251 That is true cannot forget the manga
yeah i agree with you completely about vrians being where the down grade starts, infact people hated so much what links did to the game, the master rule right after links called; "master rule 2020" allows you to summon fusions, synchros and xyz into any of your 6 monster zones, however pendulums don't still, and links still work the same way but just for links and pendulum summoning. so yes you can still fusion summon 3-4 times per turn with your hero deck without controlling links in the present day, it is allowed.
Fire Transitions
My g they changed the rules mid Vrains. You can fusion sync and xyz into the normal monster zones like the previous ruleset
First man to praise Pendulum summoning.
I just watch one of you're shorts and wanted to know you're thoughts about ires west
Finally.. someone who appreciates pendulum summoning
I remember you from your shorts, and I can’t find you on my shorts for some reason.
So I just looked at my sub.
Madura from Naruto vs Bradley from FMA
Wait what?
Not gonna lie, I liked it all the way until zexal. I liked everything from the beginning till that point. Still love the game. Yugioh 5ds was always my favorite especially that old west Arc
Agreed. After Zexal, everything was foreign to me
I play 3 decks. Time lords, time thief, and recently im really loving libromancer. Im cureently building a Vaylantz deck. Its fun and complicated.
Show opinion:
Yugi- It’s the OG and I love every single one of them and I stand by that.
GX- LOVE the heroes, not so much the fact that everyone turned turncoat on Jaden.
5Ds- MASTERPIECE! PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! 🤩😁
Zexel- Weird, rough start, but I am someone who *adores* hope, so having an ace monster based off of it is cool to me.
😅 (Multiverse)
Vrains- Let me just say this: This show is unfairness and hater fuel *INCARNATE* !!! Seriously NONE of the AIs deserved what became of them, especially Ai. 😭 That said it was the only YiGiOh that made my brain overload more than once (in a kinda good way)
Game opinion: *FACTS* When I saw that you couldn’t summon as many Extra Deck monsters when Link summoning came out I was *PISSED* Thank *GOD* at least Duel Links fixed that s-t! 😩🤦🏾♂️
I think they changed that from what I heard in the comments?
They changed it so that you can use extra deck monsters in any zone in the new rule set.
"new"
That ruleset came out before Covid did :P
Except Links and Pendulum Monsters in the extra deck.
Nice to see a fellow fan from the start.
While i agree with some stuff and also disagree with some
Great vid man keep it up! (Also i respect the fellow HERO player, they never expect the HERO otk)
Bro the first 5 yugioh series was my childhood
Can you do your thoughts on the Digimon series next please?
Your sorta right with link summoning
Basically the link arrows if they point to something something happens sometimes it can be a effect where if there not a monster there it will summon one there or if there is something summoned there it will end the field an some like decode talker can substitute a monster to negate something
But I do agree pendulum is very fun to use it simple an easy to understand an some card do have effect if you pendulum summon them an those pendulum monster also have effect to like saying nope to opponent spell cards or changing there scale itself or the opponents
Also when a link monster arrow is co link aka two arrow pointing to each other well ya that a effect
Also some of the link rule have changed Abit in the normal game play in the show it the old way
Also I hate to be the barror of bad news but most of Yu-Gi-Oh community from what I know HATE pendulum monsters I don't if anything Im sorta still new to Yu-Gi-Oh card game irl but I love it man
I still run Dark Magician still one of my favorites
Ah duel monsters, the most sophisticated form of communication. “Meanwhile”
“GO MY SPIKED COVERED MONSTER, BODY SLAM HIM”
Ah, yes I just love it. "Meanwhile"
"HOW THE FUCK DID YOU KILL MY UNKILLABLE DRAGON WITH 4000 ATK?"
I mean to be fair, they did eventually lift the special summoning restrictions, of course immediately after this they printed links that basic read “you win the game on the spot”
Yknow you don't have to summon to the EMZ anymore if you Fusion summon. You can do it anywhere you want to.
Man you weren't lying about my home hero
5ds will forever be the best for me
Bonus part of Pendulum summoning was the effects the pendulum monsters had a long with the summoning ah if you had the right cards you could win in one turn
I love the intro 🤩😎
the og yugi oh, gx, and zexal hit different
Hey man! Out of all the anime from the 1990's, which one do you think is the most slept on?
Enjoyed the video man. Quick question, who would win in a duel between Yuya and Yusei
Yuya
Yuseis deck from anime/manga is just outdated compared to preformerpals
@@your_SecondShadow thanks bro i've been trying to figure that out for a while
@@KamaalSapud its cool their my favourite seasons because 5ds was my first and arc-v was what made me wanna binge all of yugioh so i like it
FIRE INTRO!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Joey vs yugi makes me cry every time man
btw master rule 5 fixes your Extra deck summoning. Heroes
